(Actually...) The jackdaw watched them chatter, boredom alighting on her face. All they're talking about is the basics, she thought. No life and death struggles, no hard truths, no starvation... Still, she felt a bond with these two children. She was as young and green as they were once. It was something... maternal? Just your bird instincts, she told herself. Get over it. You can't get attached. She double checked the area, making sure it was empty except for the three of them. I'll watch them, she decided. Just for tonight.
(For future reference, I'll be on for sure between 3-5, and spastically before and after. Unless I'm actively engaged, feel free to continue without me)

Hey! Whenever you feel like your character can introduce themself please do. My character can go get water or something farther away from Uriah so she can maybe talk to herself outloud. If you read the previous posts you saw how she was trying to keep something secret from Uriah and she can talk outloud by herself and your character can introduce themselves)

"Quite a few times actually." Uriah said as he started the finishing part of the first trap. "Sometimes the food they gave us wasn't enough so learned to hunt for myself a little. And for my mom." He said, looking at his work closely. He put the trap down and held his hand out for Arabella to give him some branches.

Arabella got the hint and handed over the branches, "What was your mom like?" She asked, scooting a bit closer to Uriah. She was almost like a child that was getting ready for a story. Arabella figured Uriah's mom must have been a wonderful person if her son turned out the way he is.

Uriah looked up from his work and then back down again, focusing on it more then you should. "She was....everything really. We were sold as servants when I was ten. The lord that she was put under was...abusive." Uriah let out a sad chuckle as his emotions threatened to surface. "She would come to the stables everyday to see me. I knew she was hurt, but she never showed it. She always smiled for me." Uriah bit down on his lip when he cut his finger because he wasn't paying attention.

Arabella wanted to give him a comforting hug, but wasn't sure how he would respond so she stayed still, "Well, she sound quite nice especially after all of that happened to her. Where is she now?" Arabella was almost afraid to ask, hoping she was alive and they can go get her. She didn't want to make Uriah sad, by asking about his mother. She wanted to face palm herself. She should have kept her mouth shut. *Me amd my big mouth...* she though to herself

Uriah set down the trap and rubbed his forehead with his arm. "She's dead. Her master killed her." He said and looked away immediately. He hoped Arabella wasn't put off by his behavior. He had never opened up to anyone before. No one in the stables cared about his mother and Brom was always to busy to listen to a servants grief.

Arabella would have asked why, but she felt that he was angry at her. Maybe not directly, but just flustered in general. She just stared at her feet, not sure what to say. Not wanting to move, not sure what she would do if she did get up anyway. She put her hair behind her ear and bit her lip. Again. It was a habit of her's.

Uriah looked over at her and noted what she was doing. "I should go place these traps," He said, taking deep breath to clear his mind. He stood up with them. He looked over at Arabella over his shoulder.. "Thanks for the help." He said softly and turned to walk away. (Gives her the opportunity to be alone and get caught or whatever XD.)

(This is gonna be so good! Mwhahaha!!!!)
Arabella stood up from where she was sitting, embarrassed. She let out a small sigh. She pitied Uriah, he had been through a lot. People like him put her to shame. Arabella tightened her sword's case to her belt before walking over to the river that was in the souther. Side of the clearing they were in. She bent down beside and stared at her reflection, it was like a mirror without the ripples. She wasn't sure how long she sat there just looking at her reflection and thinking, but as she was doing so she saw another face appear in the water. Not Uriah's face but a cruel one, with a helmet and dark eyes. She reached for her sword knowing a guard had found them, but before she could draw it another guard practically tackled her from her blind side. "Uri-" was all she got out before the guard that tackled her covered her mouth. Arabella's eyes were wide, but she tried to not let the fear show through. The guards knew she was afraid however, and chuckled at it. She squirmed but they held her down. The guards gagged her and hit her with...something. She couldn't remember. All she remembered was the whole world going black.

Uriah set one of the traps down bear the stream and then a little ways into some brush to place the others. He hoped he hadn't upset Arabella too bad. It wasn't that he didn't want to talk about what had happened to his mother, he just didn't know how to. Servants weren't supposed to have feelings to Uriah had kept his pain hidden, hidden in agony for years. How did he even begin to explain it? Uriah snapped out of his thoughts when he heard something and walked back towards the stream. He looked around didn't see Arabella in sight. "Bella?" He called out. When he got no answer his stomach sank. "Arabella!" He shouted and turned. He saw a horse running in the distance and his heart picked up. He ran to his horse and jumped on, knowing where they were going to take her.

It didn't take long for Arabella to wake up, they were headed towards a palace by the look of it. She stayed silent however, hoping they wouldn't notice she was awake. It bugged her that she had to leave her hair in her face, because if she moved they would notice her being conscious. A cold feeling went down her spine, her stomach felt hollow, and her head felt like someone threw a brick at it. Which they might have. How could she let this happen? Arabella was always vigilant, never letting her guard down, even in her own kingdom. What made her stop now? Surely not Uriah. Right? Maybe it was him...maybe he was behind this. Uriah could have planned this thing with the king! He could have been a spy, pretending to be a stable boy that she could actually talk to, and once she took her guard down...Arabella felt anger more than anything now, a burning feeling that made her want to...to...she wasn't sure but she was boiling with rage. And now, because of her carelessness, she was in hot water herself. She had to get out of here, but how? She was bound hand and foot. If she did make it off of the horse she wouldn't make it very far. They slowed and began to approach the gates. This is it. This is where it all ends isn't it?

(Oooh! Brom can play in too since he's the prince.)
Uriah forced to keep a good length behind the guards, sticking to edge of the woods. He knew if he got anywhere near them he wouldn't have a chance. The guards were armed and trained to fight, not to mention a few were elves. He watched as they looked closer to the castle and knew he had to be careful if he didn't want to be spotted. Hopefully, they would take Arabella to the dungeon first before they tool her to Brom of the King. It would most likely be Brom since the king was half mad anyway. If she was in the dungeon, Uriah could have some time to disguise himself and sneak into the palace. He lived there long enough to know it's ends and outs. Uriah glanced over at the stables and looked at the guards. The stables were hid best shot at sneaking through so he could only hope that nothing bad happened to Arabella while he tried to sneak into the palace.

She heard the creaking of the gates as they opened to the castle. Hopefully they weren't going to execute her on the spot, maybe just have her wait so she can think of a way out...if there even was one. The horse trotted inside and the guards dismounted, taking Arabella off the horse well. However, they didn't pick her up off the ground, instead they dragged her inside by a rope that connected to the rope that bound her hands. She could have sworn they were going out of their way to hit all the bumps on the road inside the castle and through the grand enterance of the castle. Arabella noticed the town discipliner of the town they were chased out of. She didn't see what he did, as she was facing the other way and had her eyes hsut tight, but she assumed he waved them off in the direction of the dungeon. As they had picked her up and carried her down a long set of stairs, twisting this way and that. The room was darker so she opened her eyes a bit. The guards took her into a cell. A dark and gross ome at that, but weren't they all? They sat her in the corner of the room and chained her up against the wall. With her right hand being bound by the metal chains. After she was bound they took off the ropes and left the room. Being sure to lock the door. Arabella opened her eyes fully now, not that it made much of a difference, it was hard to see past her hand.

Uriah peeked around the stable doors, using the horse as an almost shield. When he didn't see anyone he hurriedly came in and immediately went to a room where servants clothes were kept. It didn't take long for him to find a robish type cloth that had a hood on it and he slipped it on. From there he walked into the palace courtyard, careful to avoid eye contact with everyone he came across. One false move and he be in just as bad shape as Arabella. Uriah stumbled when he ran into someone. "Would you watch where you-" The person stopped and Uriah cringed, knowing very well who the voice belonged to. "Uriah?" The prince asked. Uriah slowly looked up. "Yes, my lord?" Brom looked a little bit shocked but more happy to see the servant. "Where on Earth have you been?" The prince demanded. Uriah bowed his head. "Never mind, you don't have to explain right now, but come with me. The Discipliner caught a foreigner traveling through town and I must go play judge. Maybe you can come along." Uriah swallowed, knowing just who he meant. "Y-yes, sire." He stuttered, falling in behind Brom as the prince headed into the palace. Brom began rambling about a rumor that Uriah was traveling with the girl and assisting her, but Brom had not believed it. With each step Uriah could feel dread weighing down in his stomach. This was not going as planned.

(Sorry my phone is being mean) Arabella's head was still throbbing, but it wasn't as bad as when she first woke up at least. This is ridiculous...they didn't see me doing anything wrong. Yet. she glared, even though there was no one to glare at, but she glared at an image of the guards in her head an Uriah. She wouldn't want to be with him even if he was the last man on earth. Arabella pulled at the chain on the wall, attempting to pull fee. Even though she knew it wouldn't be of any use. She turned around so she faced the wall she was chained to and put her feet on it, pushing back. Nothing. She stood up, not that she could really go anywhere but she felt the need to. However, when she did, she got a huge head rush and needed to sit back down. "I almost want them to hurry up with the execution..." she muttered out loud. It was better than seeing four walls and a roof underground for the rest of her life

(I understand XD) Uriah trailed behind Brom as they went into the throne room. Brom sat down on his father's throne and told Uriah to stand at his right. Uriah bit his lip as anxiety ate at his insides. Guards had been sent to retrieve Arabella and he was waiting for her to appear. Brom hadn't seem to focused on Uriah, which made him happy as he didn't want to have to explain to the prince that the rumors were true. He only hoped Arabella hadn't been harmed yet and that the Discipliner wasn't anywhere to be found.

Arabella heard footsteps coming down the stairs into this dank hole. There were two of them. One holding rope and the other one holding the keys to the cells. The guard holding the keys unlocked the door and it opened with a creak. Both of them stepped inside, making their way towards her. "Oh good, I never thought you'd come..." she said irritably, knowing if she was going to die, might as well say what you want. They ignored her for the most part. The guard witht he rope started tying her arms together as soon as they unlocked the cuff that was holding her to the wall.
"This shouldn't take too long." Said the guard with the keys. She figured he must be talking about her trial and execution.
Once she was bound they pushed her forward, ahead of them in the direction of the stairs. Walking was hard as her head still hurt and with each step it felt like her brain was hitting her skull. There was a light up ahead, so Arabella assumed they were almost there. The guards pushed her when she slowed down to get used to the amout of light in the room. She shot a glare back but they didn't do anything. As there was no reason to when she was going to be 'taken care of' soon anyway. After a little walking they arrived at the throne room. With his highness sitting on the throne and the blue eyes of what could only be Uriah, next to him. The guards shoved her this time towards the king. Arabella whipped around, "Watch it!" She has had to deal with plenty of rude, disgusting, and back stabbing people that would last her a life time. Too bad this one would be cut short. She gave the evil eye to both the prince and Uriah, "What do you want?" Not afraid to speak now.

Uriah looked at Arabella, hoping she could understand something about his gaze. She seemed angry with him, not happy, which confused the servant. Brom leaned forward. "Well, well, well. This is the little foreigner I've heard so much about. No one told me she had a temper." He glanced at Uriah, but the boys gaze was still fixed on Arabella. "What brings a sneaking little girl to my land? One who insults my people and steals horses?" Brom asked her, looking down from his throne. He sat back in his throne, waiting for her answer, that is, if she had one.

"I believe I have every right to insult these predators and back stabbing rats." Her words were like venom. Arabella meant every word. For one thing, she didn't insult a single soul until they said something first. "The horses? I had to use what I could so I can get away from one of your disgusting discipliners. She had a fire of hatred in her eyes. Arabella was innocent for the most part, except for the whole getting information on another country to benefit her's part. That she would nost likely be found guilty for. She wouldn't be surprised if they decided to hang her for that.

"My Discipliner is neither digusting nor deaf. I can make your protests heard if you'd like to see him yourself." Brom said with a smirk. He got up from his throne and walked down to her, pacing circles. "You still didn't answer my question. What are you doing on my land. Surely you know my country is going to war. We don't take kindly to foreign visitors." Uriah stayed quiet, hoping Brom wouldn't probe her too much, he was much more reasonable then his father, who would have killed Arabella already.

*Don't just stand there say something!* Arabella told herself. "Training." She lied. This is the same lie she has told Uriah over and over again. Hopefully this king won't be able to sniff it out, she took a step back so he would hopefully stop circling her, "As a matter of fact, you can make my voice heard to the whole world for all I care. I speak the truth when I say that and that discipliner is a disgusting, crooked, lying rat!" She told him. Arabella would have spit on his shoes but figured that was not very lady like. Even for a girl such as herself.

Brom let out a laugh. "Training? How interesting. Do tell me, how's that going?" Brom asked her, standing in front of her. He didn't believe her for a second. Uriah willed himself to speak up, but if he did that would reveal he was traveling with Arabella which would get them into more trouble. He began configuring something up his mind to say, something that said she was innocent in a way. He rubbed his forehead as he tried to gather thoughts. Brom was still probing so he had some time.

"How do you think you little..." she was about to say something what would be considered dishonorable coming out of a guard's mouth but decided against it. Even if she was about to die, she wasn't about to become a disgrace to her people. She continued to glare at the king. Hoping we would back off soon. Why is everyone in this country so rude?
(Now would be an excellent time for the discipliner to come out)

(Just my thoughts)
Brom was about to answer Her when the Discipliner came in. "You called for me sire?" He asked. "Yes, I did. I needed you to testify about this girl-" "And the boy too?" He asked, glaring at Uriah. Uriah froze up. Brom looked between them questioningly. "The boy too?" The Discipliner took on a cruel smile. "Ahh so he didn't tell you. This was the boy who accompanied her. Isn't that right Uriah?" Uriah clenched his teeth and looked away. Brom looked shocked. "Is this true?" He asked Uriah. Uriah slowly looked up and nodded, knowing he had just sealed his own fate as well as Arabella's.

Was he suicidal?! Why would anyone admit something like that? However, she didn't want to ponder it at the moment. Arabella turned to look at that monster they called a person. "You!" She took a daring step towards him. Arabella didn't have anything to lose now. She reached for her sword but just grabbed air "If I had my sword I would drive it right between your eyes!" She yelled.

The Discipliner start forward. "Why you little rat. He did have his sword." Brom stepped forward. "Enough!" He shouted. The man stopped. Brom turned to Arabella. "Here's the deal, for both of you." He glanced at Uriah. "If she tells me where she's from, I might feel generous enough to let her go and to let you go without any punishment." He to Uriah. "But if you don't, I will be forced to let this man deal with you." He looked between them. "I know what I would pick."

"Here's the thing. Why do you want to know?" She asked. Why did he care? Her being a foreigner was enough to get her sent to a trial wasn't it? She wanted to strangle that discipliner.
(Sorry, it's short!)
