Do you think these cats were right to leave their Clan to become kittypets?

Imo no, it just goes to show when the tough gets tougher they decided to abandon ship. They're no better than the Daylight warriors that didn't come back. The only cat I remotely have respect for rn is Macgyver.

No. This is why I disagreed so heavily with Daylight Warriors, and Leafstar being so easygoing about the Clan's relationship with twolegs.
If the Clan had been more like an actual Clan, Parsleyseed and Curlypaw would've most likely had stayed.

If the Clan had been more like an actual Clan, Parsleyseed and Curlypaw would've most likely had stayed. They would have had a stronger connection to their clan and never seeing being a kittypet as a fall back option just because things got harder for them. Look at the cats that went on the great journey. The only ones that stayed behind were those that could not make the quest due to age, or died along the way. Or they were forced to be a kittypet, like Graystripe. They valued their clan and had pride as warriors, they'd never stoop low enough to run away with tails between their legs to the soft life of kittypets. Just thinking about the daylight warriors....ugh.

I don't think they should have left their clan but when's Skyclan is so relaxed in regards to kittypet life, like with the daylight warriors, you can see why it happened.

I don't think it's right, but I can understand why it happened. I don't think it has to do with Skyclan not being a real clan as much as it was where they were.
As far as I recall, the Clans that when on the Great Journey were not in the place where becoming kittypets was an option. But if those Clans had the ability to choose between a cozy life without danger and a very dangerous journey, I can think some of them would have chosen the former.
It also implied that Curlypaw and Parsleyseed were losing faith in Starclan. If there's no one to believe in during the darkest times, that really kills any motivation to keep going. Also, as far as I'm aware, no one during the Great Journey lost any faith (mainly because it was clear Starclan told them where they had to go, with it being less clear in Skyclan).

Also, as far as I'm aware, no one during the Great Journey lost any faith (mainly because it was clear Starclan told them where they had to go, with it being less clear in Skyclan). I still have a hard time believing any of the actual clan cats would have chosen the life of a kittypet even if it was an option, otherwise they wouldn't have any need to escape the cages, or just move in where Firestar used to live as one. There's also the option of being loners, etc, and even staying with the tribe. Out of all the cats Stonefur was the only one that stayed with the tribe, but I guess it's understandable even though I didn't like it. Because he said he lost his mother, and just lost his father a few days back, he was under the assumptions he's dead, also his sister is buried in the mountains. He's half clan and already had issues finding out where he truly belonged. Plus as much as I love Storm x Squirrel, he apparently developed feelings for Brook enough to see that he could have a future with her. The four clans by the lake have always been harsh on kittpets, even now cats still speak ill of Firestar, whom has kittpet roots yet saved their lives many times over. Only cats with actual strong kittypet connections would ever consider going to become a kittpet. For example, the first settlers, Turtle Tail's best friend was a kittypet so she became one eventually, even if it was temperary. Modern SkyClan is no different, and compared to when Cloudstar was leader, they have much less loyalty. SkyClan was willing to follow Cloudstar on the journey, instead of splitting up to join other clans, becoming loners or kittpets. The only cat that stayed behind was his mate because she had kits to young for the journey. And the only reason SkyClan fell apart was because of the many dangers in the gorge, especially the rats that scattered them, hence forcing them to live different lives to survive. However until that point they were die hard loyal cats. Compare that to Leafstar. She has failed as a leader imo. I don't particularly hate Leafstar, nor do I like her, she's meh to me. But I don't think she was a good leader, could have been better if anything. It's only when she experiences actual loss and turmoil does she seem to have more of a better judgment. The daylight warriors were a horrendous idea, I said from the start, and now it's the reason their clan as fallen along with Leafstar being so trusting. She teaches her cats to welcome others with open arms, she teaches them that loyalty can be in two places, and she gives them too much of a free rein. But I guess this is why Sharpclaw was such a good deputy for her in contrast. However she didn't listen to him about the Daylight warriors. The whole idea of them makes me cringe. While the cats are fighting and hunting to survive they get to return home to their cozy safe nest at night with not a care in the world. And when things get tough, it's no skin off their bones, they get to have their second home while SkyClan loses the only one they have. Not to mention their behavior only influences other cats like Parsleyseed and Curlypaw to think that a kittpet life is better than that of warrior. There is no real loyalty. This is why I wanted to see which Daylight warrior cats would actually STAY with the clans in their hardest times, because that would separate the ones who are loyal and who only see this as a hobby to kill time. If Leafstar had led better her clan's loyalty wouldn't be so divided, and their faith in StarClan wouldn't be so obscure. Its saddening to see a clan die again, over and over. SkyClan deserves better.
