I am toying around with the idea for a fanfiction and I need a little help...
My main character is a girl and is trying to get a guy to notice her. My question is if a girl likes a guy does she try and pick up on things the girl he likes likes or does she try to pick up on his likes? Or neither.
If it helps this is a pokemon fanfiction and it has to do with starter choice. (yes I am aware its shallow for a girl to start doing something as big as pokemon training to get a guy to like her but she starts out this way. She will change obviously.)

It's kinda both tbh. Like I feel as someone who has dealt with that sort of familiar feeling, personally I go with what he likes because psychologically we are attracted to similarity in significant others. But if a guy vocalizes what he likes about another girl, then a girl can conform to that standard too

Thanks I always feel that I would go with what he likes versus trying to be like the girl he already likes but I didn't know if that was just me or not.

I mean a bit of both. if you want someone to notice you, you do things they like in a person if you want someone to continue noticing you, you do things they like in themselves/bring out the best in them
although I'm a failure at all relationships so I'm a flawed source for this information

I agree with Brownie. A bit of both.
