For those who don't know, heteropaternal superfecundation is basically a rare birth when fraternal twins (or more such as in the cases of some animals who are born in a litter) each have a different father. So, this got me thinking, what if this happened in the series?

It's super rare though. I once saw a litter of dogs that were half purebred huskey and then half something else, it was pretty neat.
I could definitely see the appeal in an AU where Squirrel had Ash AND Bramble kits in one litter. I wonder how they'd split 'custody' if that were to happen.

Cats are naturally like this already. Any litter of kittens can have different fathers. Of course, it hasn't actually happened yet.

Female cats mate with multiple mates during mating season so it is somewhat common to find a litter with different fathers in street cats mostly.
If it was to ever happen in the series like lets use Squirrel x Ash x Bramble. Lets say Jaykit looks very alike Ashfur. Ashfur may notice that and say that he is the father but Brambleclaw could point that his family has black fur in the bloodline and also has the golden print that is in Lionblaze.
I mean they would probably ask Starclan for guidance to who is the Father or split the kits among the two fathers.

It's unrealistic that it hasn't happened.
I just have a feeling that either fathers will reach a compromise with sharing the kits, or the queen will lie about the father of her kits.

Alphawell if only the erins kept things how it was back in the original series, where it wasnt a big deal about who was the father or if the father(s) were super involved in raising the kits or not. if they made the clan dynamic stay that way, then maybe it would be possible for moth's idea. but now its all super human-mentality-like and now things are in such a way where the queens DO make a big deal about the father and ever since the second series, the fathers DO care about their mates and ktis more (unlike with whitestorm? i think its whitestorm. the situation where he only mated with some queen in the OS just to give the clan kits. i cant remember!!!)

It's unrealistic that it hasn't happened. Well, cats usually are monogamous in the warriors universe, so it's not that unrealistic.

Ooh!!! I would love to see this actually happen. The mother would most likely hide it from the clan, tho.

It would be interesting but I don't know how any cat would ever know that it happened anyways.
