Brookswirl watched impatiently as Foxeyes strung together enough words to ask her to go hunting. Gosh, what's got his tongue? she thought. She needed to burn off energy, and he was right, the fresh kill pile was low. Completely empty, actually.
"Yeah, alright. We can go hunting." she agreed after a moment's pause. "Not by the river though. We can go by the Sunny Mountain. There's always mice around there."

Leopardfang nodded enthusiastically, padding back to join the two she-cats. Giving her pelt a shake, the tawny she-cat lined up beside Froststar. "Well, I'm prepared to win," she laughed, growling playfully back at the gray and white she-cat.

"Neither of you will win if I'm racing," insisted Tansystar. Even though she knew how slow she normally was, she wasn't going to give up without trash talking with her clan mates. She leaned back on her hindlegs so she could leap forward when the race started. "Frosty, you can count down. On three." she added quickly.

Froststar smiled and nodded, and looked forward, quickly scanning the area to be sure that there was nothing that she might trip and die on. "Are you two prepared," She asked, not wanting to win because of one of them tripping or something. Froststar was better than that.

"We'll see about that," Leopardfang purred, stretching out her forepaws before moving to a crouching position and fixing her gaze ahead, waiting for Froststar to begin the countdown. "I'm ready," she confirmed, eager to start.

Froststar lashed her tail and began to count while she got ready. "One...twooooooo...." she meowed slowly to annoy Tansystar and Leopardfang. "Twoooooooooooooooooooo..." she continued, and then finally, "Three! Go!" she leapt foward and began to run towards the river.

Foxeyes nodded in agreement. "That works." He meowed, starting towards the camp entrance and pausing to wait for Brookswirl. Hoping he wouldn't make too much of a fool of himself, the ginger tom was ready to hunt. It was something he enjoyed doing, even if his bulky size made it hard now and then.

Leopardfang twitched in anticipation as Froststar counted down, digging her claws as deep into the earth as possible. At the leader's command, she leaped forward and bounded in the direction of the river, thrilled at the feeling of the wind rushing against her pelt.

Brookswirl trotted to his side when he stopped, glancing away from him and rolling her eyes. He was acting like a perfect gentleman and it was a bother to have to act polite as well. She decided to forgo politeness and moved in front of him and took the lead. Wordlessly, she left camp and began to trek towards the Sunny Mountains. "If we get there quickly," she said, turning to look at Foxeyes, "Then we can catch something for ourselves first, and then hunt after we aren't dying of starvation!" |

Tansystar started a little bit late, since Froststar was annoyingly stretching her words.She stumbled, and winced when she saw how far ahead the others wear, and quickly bounded after them. By pushing herself, she managed to get directly behind Leopardfang, and playfully nipped at her heels before swerving so she could try to get past her.

"We need to feed the Clan first." Foxeyes protested, his amber eyes flashing for a moment as he padded to keep up with Brookswirl after she pushed passed him. "You know that." He meowed, hoping that his protesting wouldn't anger the she-cat. "Plus, prey always tastes better once you've worked for it." Glancing around as they went, Foxeyes scented the air, looking for any signs of prey that would play for them.

Brookswirl huffed. "We are the Clan." She said snappily, lashing her tail. She wasn't practically angry that he argued, because he was always agreeable, but he was being foolish. "I'm not saying we're eating all the prey. We catch a mouse, we share it, we hunt some more. That's all I'm saying."
{{ Since EmeraldClan didn't stem like normal Clans do, do you think they'd have the exact rules of the Warrior Code? Foxeyes mentioning the Feed the Clan first thing just reminded me.
Like maybe it'd be similar but with a different name and more/less rules? What do you guys think? }}

Foxeyes flicked his ears. That makes sense, I guess. And it's not like its leafbare... "Fine." He meowed, begrudgingly, to say the least, but not in the mood to argue. The tom began to slow as they approached the Sunny Mountains. "Alright!" He huffed, half to himself and half to Brookswirl. "Let's catch that mouse then." His eyes sparkled with a new sense, one of eagerness to hunt.
(Hmm... Yeah, that works. Since EmberClan isn't a conventional Clan, I think it would make sense for their code to be a bit different.)

{{ I guess I'll have to write it down. It'll probably be pretty similar to the Warrior Code since most of the rules are pretty obvious. Should it be called the Warrior Code, or something else? Like the Emerald Rules, Emerald Code, Don't be Mean to Children Rules, ect? }}
"Alright!" Brookswirl meowed, eager to fill her hungry stomach. She kneaded her claws on the grass as she walked, tail flicking. "You can find and chase the mouse because you're better at hunting, and you can chase it towards me. Unless you catch it first." Which he probably would. Brookswirl wasn't a very good hunter; she preferred fighting, which is why she volunteered herself to lie in waiting for the mouse instead of chasing it.

Leopardfang let out a surprised yelp at the sudden presence of Tansystar right behind her, stumbling a bit and nearly falling over in her haste to avoid the other she-cat. She watched as her leader overtook her, disappearing over a small hill. Forcing herself to speed up, Leopardfang surged forward and continued until she had caught up again, running just behind Tansystar.

Walking towards what he thought might be mouse scent, a small rustle in the bushes confirmed his suspicion. Crouching down, he tried to maneuver as quietly as he could; fluffy white fur and broad shoulders made it difficult, but he managed. Staying so he was on the opposite side of the mouse, Foxeyes darted forward, scaring it out straight towards Brookswirl.

{{ Hawkeye what do you think about the warrior code of EmeraldClan? Me and Skyshadow were talking about it in the above posts. }} Tansystar was attempting to overtake Froststar, but her legs were already beginning to hurt. She should've taken her mentor's running exercises more seriously. She caught the scent of Leopardfang behind her, and tucked her tail in under her to avoid Leopardfang biting at her for payback. She lost her balance and slowed for a second, and when she started running again, she was side by side with Leopardfang, desperately pushing her legs to go faster, as she could see the river nearing and wanted to push Froststar in the shallow part when she caught up. |

"Ready to eat?" she pushed the mouse forward, inviting him to take the first bite." |

Hawkeye foxdance While the other two cats were foolishly fighting each other, Froststar pushed to get a bigger lead. She was gasping for breath as she was running so quickly. She saw Tansystar try and tuck her tail beneath herself and then lose her balance, and she held back laughter. How foolish

Foxeyes stared at the prey for a moment, still feeling weird about eating before the Clan. You're hungry anyway; plus you'll catch four times this amount for the rest of the Clan. Pushing his doubts aside the warrior bit into the mouse, the warm flavors driving his doubts away and made him realize that he was actually hungry. "Good catch." He meowed, nudging the mouse over to Brookswirl.

"Thanks." Brookswirl bit into the mouse when Foxeyes pushed it to her. She resisted the urge just to swallow the entire thing. She pushed it back to Foxeyes, asking, "How much more prey should we catch? I'm thinking at least four pieces." She shrugged indifferently, to show it didn't matter.

Leopardfang shot a glance over her shoulder as Tansystar disappeared from her side, slightly disappointed to see her dropping out of the race. Turning her attention back to the path ahead of her, Leopardfang put on a burst of speed, desperate to catch up to Froststar.

Froststar didn't hear hear that Tansystar was dropping out, but she didn't really care at the point. She knew that Tansystar wasn't really her biggest competition, and Leopardfang was more of a threat. Froststar felt like she was almost flying as she was running so fast. She was keeping quite a consistent pace, which she wasn't sure if it was a good or a bad thing. Froststar was nearing the stream and she hoped that she would be able to keep the lead.

Tansystar lost sight of Leopardfang. She couldn't even see Froststar at all. Surely, the race would be over when either Leopardfang or Froststar won. She hoped that she would get to the river before they finished the hunting patrol and went home. But she was doubting it at the pace she was going.

"Four pieces sounds good." Foxeyes nodded, taking a bite of the prey. "Or even more if we can find it. Might as well feed the Clan, especially if the fresh-kill pile was empty." The tom swallowed and nudged the last bite towards Brookswirl. "Here, you can finish it." He stood up and shook out his fur, stretching out his back legs and flicking his ears, ready to go hunt. "Shall we?"

Oh right! So it was the time thing where it goes forward an hour, and I forgot about that, so I wasn't expecting it to already be noon here. I have a movie to go to! I don't know when we will be leaving, but it will be soon, the movie starts at 1, and it's like a 20 minute drive, maybe more because it is now snowing! I am going to go and get ready but I will most definitely be on later today ]]
