especially estate sales - anyone else go to them?? from my understanding it's a very portland-esque thing, but i mean even if you just like to visit antique malls or garage sales, pls discuss
today i got a really nice desk and chair, and got that total price down from $115 to $75. plus a rly pretty throw blanket from florence ahh . recently ive also aquired 2 typewriters and a RLY bizarre old soviet propaganda poster that's framed and... admittedly hanging above my bed.
im #bargainingMaster
anyway im a sucker for antiques and i want MORE (but my funds are so low so also i gotta #chill)

there's a million antique shops near campus, and they're fun to stroll around.
there's this one with an excessive amount of clown statues/figurines/etc. and if i had money, you could bet your bucket i'd get a ton of clown merch to unsettle my roommate.

Kind of?
I'm living in a small town so we don't have a full on specialized antique shop nearby, but there's one store that sells all homemade/crafted stuff (especially Indigenous art and the like). They do have a ton of antique jewelry though that I browse through almost every time I stop in. I'm always fascinated by it, I have two antique rings (one from each of my great-grandmothers) that I wear the heck out of.

i've been to a few estate sales and got my typewriter at one (but i never ended up using it so i gave it away :// ) and there's this huge local antique "mall" that's like one building divided into different individually-owned sections of various kinds of antiques and my friend and i love going there it's so cool
i also like consignment stores and thrift stores. there's a heck ton of thrift stores in my town and i love going there for clothes bc they're so cheap and usually way more intriguing than anything you can buy at the mall

When I went to Paris for a week I pretty much exclusively shopped in thrift stores, so many neat outfits

Yeah! It was probably about three years ago now, for a family vacation! We spent a week in London and a week in Paris. It was really fun/I'd love to go back someday. I joke with my friends/family that I left my heart in London, haha!
