"We did all we could." Cedarstar looked Lightningstar in the eye. "I could not risk more lives to warn your Clan and you know that Lightningstar, you're the one who is choosing to hold a grudge about it." He looked from the ThunderClan leader to the other leader before allowing his gaze to sweep out across the clans. Cedarstar lashed his tail and he raked his claws into the ground. He would be heard. He had to do everything he could to help his Clan survive. Besides, what kind of leader would he be if he backed down now? Without a word, and anger driving his heart, Cedarstar turned to the Great Rock. He gathered every bit of strength that he had and he jumped up on the rock, landing right on top of it.
"When this Gathering is over tonight, Fourtrees will belong to ShadowClan and it will remain as ShadowClan's until our territory has grown back enough to sustain our Clan!" Cedarstar lifted his voice across the clearing, meeting every eye. "The other Clans will only be permitted here on gathering nights! We take this land as payment for the debts owed to us by all the Clans!"

Spiritstar finally made up her mind, internally cursing the stubbornness that always seemed to swamp the minds of toms. If they did not work this out soon, then they very well could earn punishment from Starclan. She lifted her chin, raising her voice.
“The fire has made us all suffer. We have all lost clanmates, and territory, and leafbare will cripple us all if we do not solve this civilly. Lightningstar, there was no need to speak of the losses of Shadowclan Warriors like that. Cedarstar, take a breath for a moment. Surely there is an easier way to solve this than to argue with such scathing retorts.” She looked around at all the cats, silver fur gleaming in the moonlight.
“...Yes. This territory is neutral...yet it is also true that Highstones and other neutral territories have sheltered us before. I am not saying Shadowclan can ever truly claim this land. But, I do offer a solution. A test trial, if possible. Shadowclan uses the land around Fourtrees to hunt, while we all take advantage of our own areas outside of our borders. We allow this for one moon, and in that moon we await to see if any of our medicine cats receive a sign that Starclan denies this temporary claim. If any is received, we follow the order of Starclan and remove the claim. If not, then we allow usage until leafbare ends, where we then will immediately end Shadowclan’s claim to hunting.” She offered, not wanting to see a fight break out.

Deerpaw hunkered down from hearing her Clan leader's booming voice of defiance. She was so torn. ShadowClan deserved to eat, but this was neutral territory. Ears drooped back, she looked up at Midnightstream with concern and uncertainty shimmering in her eyes.

As more and more yelling broke out between the leaders and Honeypaw so boldly talked back, Fuzzypaw couldn’t help but shrink against her mentor once more, letting a small, uncomfortable growl escape. The usually jovial young cat’s eyes kept flicking anxiously between the arguing adults and the moon.

Lightningstar looked at Cedarstar in almost anger. He had some nerve doing that. He lashed his tail and growled up to him. “If you haven’t left the fourtrees by new leaf, Thunderclan will force you out.” He turned and called to his clan. “Thunderclan! Let’s leave.”

Ghostscreech jumped to his paws and mewed a hasty farewell to the other deputies before quickly following Lightningstar out of Fourtrees. Unsure of what to say, the young deputy kept quiet, figuring if Lightningstar wanted to say anything, he would.
Sunthroat got to his paws and followed after Lightningstar and Ghostscreech, his pelt bristling slightly at how the gathering ended. The last thing the clans needed was a battle between them, this leafbare was going to be hard enough as it is.
Eclipsepaw hurried after her mentor, glancing around at the other clans warily. She hadn’t thought her first gathering as a clan cat would turn out like this.
The rest of my ThunderClan characters followed.

Laceheart followed after Sunthroat and the rest of Thunderclan, her pelt prickling uncomfortably at the hastily ended gathering. Why hadn't StarClan intervened. "Well that was....fun" she muttered under her breath to Sunthroat.
----
Cloudscar nodded to Ghostscreech as the young deputy said his hasty goodbyes and left the clearing. Well it seems we've won Fourtrees for leaf-bare he thought Though Lightningstar won't forget this any time soon. He thought back over the words the leaders had shouted at each other and let out a sigh. Now was a time for unity, not to split over a single scrap of territory.
----
Swiftstar watched Lightningstar depart with the rest of ThunderClan, and turned his gaze back to Cedarstar and Spiritstar for a moment before turning back to the rest of the clearing. "This gathering is over." he called, a bit too late since ThunderClan was already halfway out of the clearing. "WindClan, let's go home." He began to pad out of the clearing.

Shadowblossom got to her feet, keeping Featherfoot close to her as they hurried after their leader.
Falcontalon huffed as he watched Thunderclan leave, fox-hearts
Fallowmeadow got to her feet, looking to her mate with worry.
Eclipsesky sighed looking at Silverspirit "Come on, let's go. We don't want to be left behind." he mewed rather flatly. He hated watching clan conflicts as medicine cats were usually seen to be outside of them, he just wanted all the clans to be okay.

Thistlestalk watched as Thunderclan and Windclan began to leave, his ears drooped as the clans left in without truly resolving the conflict. He shifted nervously, inwardly deciding that perhaps Fuzzypaw should have some more battle training. "It's alright Fuzzypaw. No physical fights will break out here during the full moon. No one would dare upset Starclan that much. We should be leaving soon. When we get back to camp, I want you to get a good night sleep. We will be doing some training at sunrise."

Brownleaf got to his feet with a heavy sigh. This gathering was a disaster.
Spottedclaw jumped to his feet to follow Swiftstar, still mulling over what the other cats said about the Dark Forest.

Crowfrost got to his paws as Swiftstar called the gathering to an end, even though it was obvious that it was over. He looked over at Fawnspots, “That went well.” He muttered, following after Swiftstar.
Ashsong followed after the WindClan cats.
Arcticpaw looked over at Gustpaw, “I guess it’s time to go.” She said, looking at the WindClan cats as they started to get her together to leave.

Fawnspots nodded. "At least Meadowbrook didn't end up being the biggest thing to happen." The she-cat glanced up at her father who was nearing the edge of the clearing. "WindClan really could have come out of this looking terrible, but I think....I think we might be alright?" She glanced to Crowfrost, looking for his opinion.

Earthstar watched the others leave, thinking about what he was going to do when they returned to camp. "RiverClan! We're going." he called, leading them out of Fourtrees.
Shellstream kept close to Deadpath as they left, a frown on her face. This gathering hadn't gone well.
Shortcloud lashed her tail as she watched the others leave. We won't let the others get away with this, she grumbled to herself.
Nighteye followed Lightningstar, wondering what he was going to do about ShadowClan.
Gustpaw glanced over at Arcticpaw, then back at where Silverpaw and Slushfur were preparing to leave. "I guess so... it was nice meeting you." he mewed, turning to his Clan. Well, at least she was nice, he thought.
All my other characters prepared to leave.

“At least Spiritstar seemed to quell the argument...I think that’s a good compromise.” Owlwhisker offered to his mate, following after Earthstar with a look of sheepish worry.
“Skyclan!” Spiritstar called up, waving her tail. “We make leave for camp.” She ordered, glancing up once at Cedarstar before mewing lightly to him. “Starclan guide your paws, Cedarstar...I only ask that you hold faith. Skyclan will not be your enemy, not after you aided us...I pray Starclan will allow you here.” She promised, before turning to lead her clan away.

Shaking herself to try to get rid of the anxiety clinging to her pelt, she hopped to her paws. "I hope we get home soon though! It's chilly."

Cedarstar watched the other leaders leave with narrow eyes. Watching Lightningstar depart, nothing but anger broiled within him. The foxheart. I risked my warriors for his precious leadership and this is how he repays us? They would've warned ThunderClan, but it was too late. ShadowClan had to put themselves first and obviously ThunderClan couldn't see that. How many cats. Cedarstar looked back through the crowd toward his own clanmates. How many more cats would we had to lose just to get him to see outside his own selfishness? Cedarstar lashed his tail and looked to the other leaders when they departed. He wasn't afraid of Lightningstar.
Watching Swiftstar depart, Cedarstar only huffed to himself. He had been impressed with the other leader when he arrived at their camp to apologize to Stormfury and when he jump so swiftly down from the Great Rock when Cedarstar fell, but those feelings were gone now. ShadowClan comes first, Cedarstar reminded himself, and it seemed like ShadowClan would stand alone for the moons to come.
When Earthstar departed, Cedarstar finally realized the older tom had fallen mostly silent during his claim on fourtrees. We'll have to keep an eye on RiverClan, Cedarstar flicked his ear twice in light concern. ThunderClan was making it known that they won't stand for this. They'd had to protect Fourtrees if they were going to keep it as a hunting ground, but if RiverClan attacked them as well...Is this scrap of land worth the lives of any more of my clanmates? Cedarstar sighed heavily. Fourtrees wasn't big enough to be their salvation through leaf-bare. They'd still have to rely on the loners in twoleggedplace, still have to be creative in their hunting techniques, but their territory was blacker than the night sky while Fourtrees was spared. They'd likely find more prey here than anywhere else. Swiftstar claimed we had the carrionplace to help feed ourselves, Cedarstar huffed. The fool doesn't realize that's where the fire started in the first place.
Cedarstar's eyes narrowed on Spiritstar when she addressed him. He didn't say anything and only tapped his tail. StarClan guide them? Where has StarClan even been all this time? They allow ShadowClan to suffer while sparing the other Clans and have left ShadowClan with no prey for the coming leafbare! Cedarstar scoffed. StarClan had no choice but to allow ShadowClan to take Fourtrees.

Falcontalon slowly padded towards the front of the crowd, staring at the leader. "Should we go Cedarstar?" he mewed gently, staring around the now empty clearing.
Starrylight hovered close to the front of the crowd, eyes never leaving Cedarstar.
Duskpaw was still sulking beside Cliffheart, wondering what punishment she would get for fighting with Scarletpaw and the rest of those frogbrain apprentices.
Hazelblaze sighed, hoping they could go home soon. Her first gathering as a warrior and it was a mess!

Honeypaw sighed deeply, tapping his paw with a twinge of exasperation as he murmured to Whorlpaw. "I did not think the other clans would be so adamant. You would think they would recognize the fact that the land is wasted when all of ours is damaged...Cedarstar stood his ground. I hope he knows that I appreciate his sturdiness." He turned to glance at the leader, hoping that his support had been heard.

"He looked so alone up there." Whorlpaw flattened her ears with sorrow as she watched her father. "All four of the other leaders turned against him and he had to fend them off himself." Her voice faded away and she glanced at Honeypaw. "It's not fair..."
Cedarstar slowly looked back at Falcontalon. His tail tapped once. "Fill the clearing with ShadowClan scent." He lifted his voice for everyone in ShadowClan to hear. "Tonight, Fourtrees belongs to us as a hunting ground." He looked at Cloudscar. "We'll have patrols frequently refreshing its markers and searching for food here. The other Clans owe us this much. We will not let them intimidate us." StarClan included.

Falcontalon dipped his head to the leader, moving to assist the clan with marking the outskirts of the clearing.
Hazelblaze trotted to the other side of the clearing to mark the border.
Starrylight moved to help as well.
Duskpaw glanced at Cliffheart before scampering off to mark some of the border herself.
Thistlestalk nudged Fuzzypaw "Go join the other apprentices if you'd like, we'll mark the border and then head out at Cedarstar's call."

Cliffheart followed after his apprentice. "You need to be very careful from here on out." He warned her calmly. Cliffheart's ears were back after the argument of the leaders. He didn't trust ThunderClan anymore and though he believed his sister's words when she said she wasn't an enemy. He had a feeling not all of her clanmates would feel the same way. "Never go anywhere alone."
Cedarstar flicked his ear twice when he watched the Clan move to claim Fourtrees. He slowly moved to the edge of the Great Rock and his ears fell fully back. StarClan, jumping up here was a mistake. How was he supposed to get down?! Even from jumping up here, his legs were burning, what strength he had left was waning. When he spotted Starrylight below, his ears grew hot with embarrassment. He glanced at the ground beneath him, hoping she'd understand that he...needed her help...

Duskpaw frowned, not wanting to upset her mentor anymore than he already may be. "I understand Cliffheart." she replied seriously. She paused for a second before looking up at him directly, her frown deepening. "Are you mad at me for fighting with those other apprentices?" she asked, guilt and worry clearly eating at the young apprentice.
Starrylight finished marking the area she had padded towards before looking around the clearing once more. When she spotted her mate looking at her, she hurried over. "Cedarstar, are you alright? Did you break open any of your wounds?" she asked

"Hm?" Cliffheart blinked and looked back at his apprentice. Truthfully, he had been lost in thought most of the night. As important as this gathering was, he was still stuck in the loss of his mate. How he'd never see Owlshadow again. Cliffheart paused to look Duskpaw over. That's right. She did get into an argument with ThunderClan apprentices. He almost huffed. It was typical of ThunderClan to have such rude and outspoken apprentices. Yet, it had been Oakpaw that started the argument and Duskpaw only came to his defense. "Fighting should never be the answer." CLiffheart mewed slowly. "Tensions are high right now and everyone is scared, but take a deep breath and take a step back so you can always see the clearer picture." Cliffheart looked in the direction of ThunderClan's territory. "Some cats are capable of it." He flattened his ears and looked toward the ground. "Others are not. If anyone disrespects you or anyone you love, Duskpaw. Promise me you'll be the bigger cat and choose compassion over hatred." He looked at his apprentice with a sorrow in his eyes. "Anger and hatred only lead to the dark."
Cedarstar swallowed tightly and glanced around the clearing. How he hoped most of his clanmates were too busy refreshing the scent markers to pay any attention to him. Embarrassment prickled his pelt. "I...I can't get down.." He knew if he jumped down on his own, his legs would give out and his burns might just split open. Maybe he could avoid that and a lecture from Snowdance if he had help.
(I have to go, but I should be on tomorrow night. Sorry guys)
