Flintstrike looked at the area, noting the wilting leaves and drying grass. He placed the mouse at his paws and sat down, digging his claws in the dry dirt. "What are we gonna do about this drought?" He murmured, looking up at the sky and seeing no clouds. The pit of worry in his stomach deepened and the anxiety glistened in his eyes like faded stars.

Sootpaw climbed down from the tree and padded over to the other apprentices. "Do you think StarClan could possibly help us?" he asked. The wind ruffled his fur - the first gentle breeze he had felt in a long time. It felt almost as refreshing as drinking cold water.

Flintstrike nodded and fixed his eyes on the horizon. "That's what I was thinking. I would be willing to walk far beyond our borders if it meant making everyone a little happier and healthier." His eyes were nothing but small slivers of sapphire, determination in their depths.

Leaves rustled as the gray cat trotted across the floor to keep up. "Yeah. At least then we might have a clue as what to do. If they don't say anything, then we will have to make our own decision. If we end up leaving, then we only have to leave long enough for the water to return here, right?" The thought of abandoning home was a scary one, but there had to be point where they would place their lives higher on the priority list.

Flintstrike shook his head and looked at the dry ground underpaw, trying to ignore his own parched throat. "I have no idea. But it's honestly worrying me." His mind briefly covered the thought that all of his clanmates would die and so would he, causing the fur along his spine to bristle.

Once he reached the river, the charcoal warrior lapped up the substance happily and dipped his forepaw in it, wiping it over his face to try and cool it a bit. His dark fur didn't exactly help him keep his body temperature. It was bad enough he was pretty much already panting. Flintstrike looked at the water and at his own reflection, trying to keep his spirits up. He couldn't give up now. There had to be rain on the way.

Flintstrike parted his jaws and took a deep breath, catching the faint scent of a rabbit. "Yeah, I would like to bring a little more back to the clan. Not to mention, I think I smell a rabbit" He kept his voice low as not to alert the prey if it was nearby. "It could feed three cats." His ears stood on end as he started to follow the scent, scanning for any sign of movement in the brush.

Prowling through the undergrowth, the tom kept all of his senses on end until he saw the rabbit munching on a patch of clover. Evidently it hadn't noticed him yet and that's exactly what he wanted. Without another moment's hesitation, he got within range on the creature and sprang. After a brief chase, Flintstrike stood proudly with the bracken animal in his jaws.

{Unfortunately I am at a standstill with my character Sootpaw. I will still RP as him on occasion, but for now I'll need about half a day's time to create a new character, most likely a rogue. From, warriorunityrp}
