Seedflower looked up, surprised to find Bearclaw with a small kit "Oh dear." stretching her neck the queen gently picked up the small kit and set her down near her, nudging her "I'll do what I can. The poor thing looks like it's in terrible shape."

Vervainkit was seated outside the nursery, watching camp as the sun sent dancing shadows over the ravine. His cool green eyes missed little, but he did not feel welcome to join in sharing tongues or prey. He was still a kit, and kits were practically outsiders until six moons of age, when they would be made apprentices.
Speaking of apprentices, the little kit's ceremony would be soon. Whispers of it were starting to float around camp, but it did little but make the tom anxious. He did not know how to feel about this new development, and was content to stay at his mother's side for a while yet. Or forever, honestly. He silently wondered how Blossomkit and Quailkit felt about it, but quickly realized he would be the only one out of the trio nervous.
I just have to hope Blossomkit doesn't leave me behind, he thought, There are rumours of Quailkit joining the Medicine Den, so I guess she's left me already.
(Poor Vervainkit. Thinking the world's out to get him.)

Indigopath followed her companion's gaze towards the sky, glaring intently at the clouds as if she could make it rain through sheer spite alone. She knew it wouldn't work, however, and returned her eyes to the dusty ground in front of her paws with a ragged sigh. The molly had never experienced a drought in her moons of life, and she wasn't liking it too well. Indigopath hated not being in control.
"I hope it does too. The prey running low is bad enough, but if it gets much worse, we're going to have to go further and further for water. I don't know if the elders and kits could manage that," she meowed with a shudder, thinking about how the weaker members of the clan would suffer from lack of water.

She moved her gaze away from the cornflower blue of the sky, and turned back to Indigopath. Her gaze was full of frustration, not at the other cat, but instead at the situation they were both in. "I just wish we could do something," She mewed, not realizing she was voicing Indigopath's frustrations.

Duckstep chuckled, "I wouldn't take an apprentice to fight a fox, as good as you may be it's still very dangerous. For now i'll wait for my orders then take a couple other warriors to join me in the search." a fox could be easily defeated by a group of strong and capable warriors. Of course he had seen apprentices do amazing against foxes as well, but will the lack of water he didn't want any cat getting injured too badly.
She gently felt the kit with her nose, then curled around the kit to keep her warm. "Much too young to be abandoned. I feel bad for it." she glanced up at the warrior "Have you told Pinestar about this?" of course, even if Pinestar wouldn't allow the kit to stay she would fight against that idea. Though Pinestar wouldn't turn down a kit in need.
