Wrote a little bit in a fanfic, and I wrote another complete one-shot. I tell you, some of my best one-shots seem to come when I'm really tired. I don't write the best for normal things this late at night, but one-shots that crawl out of the corners of my sleep-deprived brain seem to have a totally different quality that I can't reproduce when I'm functioning at my usual capacity.

The focus is just on getting rid of the 'I'll do it later' attitude and just getting words written
I mean if you're doing rewrites sure, but just editing in general would probably be too difficult, and too personal, to really put a conversion to
I was thinking about adding comic pages to this as well, but I ran into the similar issue: some people do basic things and take 15mins a page, some do more detail and it takes them 8 hours. It's just too much variance for the same amount of content done.
I suppose it could be a time thing, but then it just becomes a contest of who puts the most time into the contest, and I don't want it to turn into that if that makes sense?
Wordcounts you can do in spare time, and for anything. and it does the job of getting actual creative writing time put into your thoughts.

I can't count what I'm writing now. >.< School, why do you get in the way of finishing this fan fiction I've seem to have started. I don't know whether to thank this contest or not. I've started a fan fiction in Off-Topic Writing while leave Where There is Smoke (plus my comics) with little to nothing getting done. Eh, I finally get to take over OTW.  |

The thing that always bogs me down is planning. I will literally spend hours perfecting plots, designing characters, forming some intense lore...and then I'll get bored of the idea and move on to something else. So I've decided that I'm going to spend less time planning and more time writing...as much as it pains my order-craving, perfectionist brain. *_*

Maybe you should try that new way of writing will work for you.  I never plan. I just write. (This is a lie, but I rarely plan anywhere other than in my head. So far it's worked well). |
