Arc gave a surprised 'ha' when he heard where they were going. No wonder she didn't want to be driven home on a bike. "Alright, just remember when we turn to follow my lead when we go around turns. You have to lean a bit to keep the bike balanced." He let her know. He started the bike again, letting it roll forward a bit before lifting his feet off the ground and placing them on the foot holds. He remembered the heat from the engine was actually quite close to the passenger leg space and he called back. "Mind the pipes and don't move your legs back. The engine gets hot really quickly." "Okay! Thank!" Leah spoke loudly over the sound of the engine. She held on tight as the bike started to move.

"I love it," Nieve replied, unable to hold back a fond smile. "But I think I like writing more. I'd always loved to sing but when I started writing my own stuff things changed. It was everything I loved about singing, only more of it, if that makes sense?" She'd noticed a change in other people when she started writing, too. The first songs were horrible, of course they were. And it wasn't just a few, it was dozens of them. Years' worth. But eventually she'd gotten the hang of it, and the way people had looked at her once she had changed her approach to music altogether.

Hannah's eyes grew wide and her jaw dropped slightly. "You actually wrote that!?" Hannah couldn't hide her surprise. Of course people always spoke about how Nieve, the new singer, had written her own song. But, Hannah had always assumed that it was more for publicity. After all, there were many ways to get a song written for you. Even if you weren't signed with a record label.

Arc checked she was done adjusting her seating before he let the bike pull ahead. As the picked up speed and he crouched forward slightly out of habit. He waited for an opening and merged with the flow of traffic. He followed her direction, turning left once they reached the fork and continuing. He waited for her to signal the next turn. True, he knew where the place was, but he wasn't sure of the best way to get there, or if there were any one way roads.

(Thanks!! I honestly just searched "Cool Pictures" and it came up! ^.^)
Leah's heart didn't stop racing the entire ride. However, after a short time, it stopped feeling like nervousness and started feeling like she was flying. She continued to give directions as they neared the neighborhood. She took him the simplest way home that she could. When she could see that they were getting close, she prepared to tell him to stop.

(HAHAHAHAH That's fantastic)
Arc had been ready to lean more to overcompensate for the turns, but she seemed to have a pretty good grasp of what to do when she needed to. "This isn't your first time on a bike." He commented between directions.

(What can I say, I have a knack for creative search words! lol)
Leah made a face at his comment. "Actually... It is..." She replied, slightly confused. She had felt more like she had been slowing him down and making things difficult. She only hoped that he wasn't being sarcastic. Leah hated to disappoint people, she had her entire life. Which would explain her perfect grades, school involvement, and fashion sense. "You can stop on the next block." She gave the final instruction, not exactly wanting to be seen by all of her neighbors on the back of a bike.

"Huh. You've got a knack for balance then." He answered. When she told him to stop, he hesitated. He wasn't entirely sure this was where she'd said she'd lived before. Eh, maybe she'd just given him a decent landmark. "Alright, just a second." He said, letting the bike start to slow down. They coasted forward a few feet before he put his feet down at either side. "Alright, make sure you lift your leg high enough to clear the pipes. They'll be burning up by now." He told her.

"Thank You." Leah's reply was still shocked as she didn't believe that she had done anything on that ride well. She slid sideways to let her foot touch the ground before attempting to swing her other leg off of the bike. Once her foot hit the ground, however, her nerves caught up to her. Leah's leg's felt like they her turned to jello and were being controlled by someone else. She attempted to swing her other leg off of the bike, but didn't do so very successfully. Her ankle, exposed from her pant legs bunching up, brushed the side of the pipe. Leah yelped and she finished swinging her leg over more quickly, but other than a slight surprise from the heat, she didn't think that it had caused any damage and she settled both feet onto solid ground.

Arc heard her yelp and flipped the kickstand down with his foot. He dismounted the bike and went to go help her. "Did it get you?" He asked. He wasn't sure if he could offer to help if she didn't ask.

Leah bit her lip. "Ya, but not bad! I'll be okay." She shuffled her pants to resettle where they would normally sit, but she didn't look at her leg. Her adrenaline was still going, so she didn't feel any pain. "Thank you so much for the ride." On to of everything that she had just experience, Leah was also extremely nervous again. It was almost as if she had lost all of her social skills in the short time that she had interacted with the guy in front of her.

After all, there were many ways to get a song written for you. Even if you weren't signed with a record label. "Yeah," Nieve said, sounding more than a little proud. "I got some help from a friend when I sat down to revise it, so it wasn't all me, but I did most of it. Other than singing, writing is probably just about the only thing I've been good at." She didn't say this as if it was a bad thing, but it also didn't sound like a joke. It was more like the unadulterated truth. She was from a family of overachievers. Her father was a doctor and her mother a lawyer, both of her older siblings were about to follow in their footsteps. She'd scraped by in school with grades that only just kept her from failing. Despite their constant support, it was very easy to see that she wasn't likely to succeed in any of the same areas as her family.

Hannah nodded her head as she listened. "Well, it's an amazing song." She couldn't help but repeat what she had already emphasized. It was the truth after all.

Nieve smiled warmly. "Thank you." Surprisingly enough, she didn't get compliments on it often. She either overheard people talking about it or it was just assumed that she got enough as it were, so it meant a lot. She knew it probably would have meant a lot even if she heard it daily.

Arc hesitated a moment then gave a small nod. "Alright. If you're sure. I'll see you around the school then." He remembered neither of them had introduced themselves, so he added. "I'm Arc." He gave a small smile before turning around and mounting the bike again.

He gave a small smile before turning around and mounting the bike again. "Leah." She offered up her name as he mounted the bike. "Thank you again for the ride." With that, she turned to walk through the neighborhood the rest of the way to her house. She approached a large grey house and went inside through the front door. Once inside, she went upstairs to her room to finish her homework. It wasn't until she was settled in a pink butterfly chair in her room that she felt a pain on her ankle. She slid her jeans up to reveal a puffy pink burn on her ankle. It wasn't big, but it was enough to be uncomfortable.

"So," Nieve said, still smiling. "I heard there was going to be a new scoop tonight? Pray tell." She wiggled her eyebrows in a way that suggested that she didn't really care, she was just curious. That was true. She wanted to know, of course, what Hannah had planned, if anything, but until she said something false she really didn't care too much.

Hannah raised her eyebrows in an 'oops' sort of way. "Well you see... that was more of a ploy to get people here." Hannah shrugged. "I mean it worked, and no one will remember the promise after theyve had a few drinks." Hannah motioned around them. The club had in fact filled up quite a bit, and several people were already drunk flirting with each other.

"Ah," Nieve said, her smile turning from curious to teasing. "I see. Using my good name for your own gain, huh?" Once again, it didn't seem like she minded much. It wasn't an uncommon occurrence, not with her name or anyone else's. If she was going to get upset over something as relatively harmless as empty promises, she had a long road ahead of her. She could save her anger for what would come later, the exaggerated drama and the slander. Even if she didn't understand the extent of it, she knew things would only get worse from here if she wanted to pursue a life in the spotlight.

Hannah shrugged. She was slightly surprised to find that she felt a little guilty for using Nieve's name to draw people in. Hannah had to remind herself that this was all part of the business, at least she hadn't twisted the singer's words to create more drama. "To be fair," Hannah prepared her defense. "You being here in person has pretty much fulfilled my fake promise of more news." With that, she put on an innocent, 'so there', smile.

"Oh?" Nieve paused, hummed and then inclined her head. "I guess that's a good point." She knew that Hannah couldn't possibly have planned it this way, but that didn't really matter when it had turned out like this anyway. Not that she'd have minded in any other case, either. "Well then, if I'm living up to the rumour you started, I guess I should do something worth gossipping about. There's a dance floor calling my name. Want to join me?" Hannah was working, she knew that, but she thought she should ask anyway. She was expecting rejection, but setting herself up so that there was no way she'd get a yes was just stupid.
