I know this is justified due to them being cats (obviously, cats age A LOT faster then humans), but one thing I find difficult about the series is that it's really hard to keep track of the approximate ages of the characters for me. For example in the Apprentice's Quest, Twigpaw and Violetpaw seem to be approximately 2-4 years old if they were humans. In the next book, they seemed to be anywhere to an equivalent to a 8-14 year old human. Yes, I know they are cats. Cats have much shorter lifespans then humans, thus age faster. But it is still confusing for your main protagonist to be around 8 years old at the begin of the book, and end the book around 18 years old. Can someone help me visualize the ages of any of the characters in the books?

Strange. I guess I always just considered it part of the fantasy.

So how old would the characters would be if they were humans? Like for example, how old would Firepaw/heart/star be in the Prophecies Begin, Ivypool in the Omen of the Stars, etc.

Cat's age very fast in their first 2 years, then slow down in aging. 2 years of a cat's life equals 25 human years. Every 2 years after that you multiply by 5. Is that helpful?

I have this little cat age chart thingy, and it says at 1 year old a cat is 15, at 2 years old they are 24, then every year after that they age 4 years.
