This line from TUG has always confused me, or more like the way it's worded, really.
Does it mean that Nightcloud tried to force Crowfeather to love her or that she tried to display affection to Crowfeather and in hopes that he would come to love her, or...?
I'm assuming its the latter since there is at least evidence of this being shown in the books, like how right before Crowfeather and Breezepaw leave, she acts affectionate towards her mate and he just looks off in the distance, presumably thinking about Leafpool and/or the events of TNP in general.
And yes, TUG has inconsistencies, but so do all the other books and that doesn't mean the book as a whole is wrong, just certain bits of information that contradict with previous statements, like what it said about Hollyleaf accidentally killing Ashfur when it wasn't an accident at all.

If this is true, then honestly, Nightcloud brought this all upon herself. If she tried to force Crowfeather to love her, then she knew he didn't love her and still loved Leafpool. What Leafpool and Crowfeather did was spread throughout the entire Clans. Everyone knew. I am sure that even Nightcloud knew.
I just don't understand why people are so overprotective of Nightcloud when she's partly to blame for Breezepelt's negativity growth.
