Now, please note that this is referring to Su's old notes, so the information may or may not change as we get more Missing Kits like with Tangleburr not really being a mother when the list said she was, but as I was reading through them, I remembered where it lists Nightcloud at and how she isn't as old as I—and maybe even some of you—thought.
It lists her as being born by Firestar's Quest, which is also the same book in which Tallstar announces that Ashfoot had given birth to Crowfeather and his (stillborn) littermates. If TUG's information on her is still correct, then Nightcloud might actually be older than Crowfeather by not that much.
Again, this is only assuming the information will still stay the same. What do you guys think of this?

I always assumed Nightcloud was at least a generation older than Crowfeather.

I wish some research about cats had been done before this series was written, because in reality cats do not go through menopause like humans do so regardless of Nightcloud's age, there would be no reason for her to have to rush and have kits. Especially if she was born by Firestar's Quest... That would make her like, a year or two by the time Breezepelt was born. In no way is that old. Unless she has fertility problems, she would have no trouble getting pregnant. So this Crowfeather drama she has could have been avoided with some research...
Even then, the Erins should at least make her be a warrior by the time of Into the Wild if they want her to seem so old. Even then that isn't a long period to be considered old, but it would at least make it a longer time gap between her birth and Breezepelt's, rather than just a year or two...

I always assumed Nightcloud was at least a generation older than Crowfeather. I always imagined she was from Mudclaw's generation Now that I think about it, I feel like more and more, Night and Mud should have been a thing. But because Mudclaw died, the Erins went with plan B, and that was Crowfeather, to sprinkle in drama.

Night and Mud would've been a good pairing.

Night and Mud would've been a good pairing. Better than what we got, that's for sure. Then Crowfeather would have to scrap up how to make himself look better in the eyes of his clan after breaking the warrior code on his own instead of dragging his own family. Someone like Mudclaw would have been much more suitable for Nightcloud, and I'm sure he'd be more than proud of any kits sharing his blood.
