"Well, I suppose we should head back to camp, we've marked up the border enough as is," Fernshade said.
Troutpaw nodded, and hurriedly picked up his prey, following Fernshade.

"I would like to hunt, too!" protested Dewleaf. It's been a while since she has had another joy of quick hunt.

Fernshade shrugged his shoulders, "Yeah, we could probably use some prey, I'd keep away from the border this time, though," he joked, looking at Troutpaw.
Troutpaw smiled at the joked as he headed away to go hunt. He saw a thrush a while away from him. And he crouched down, before pouncing closer. The bird started to fly away, but Troutpaw was too quick, and he snagged its wing with his claw and brought it back down to the ground. He bit down onto the birds neck as soon as it reached the ground. He picked up his catch and padded back to his caught squirrel.
Fernshade quieted down and scented the air, detecting a large rabbit nearby. He signaled for Dewleaf to come over. "Can you scare towards me so I can catch it?" he whispered.

Dewleaf gave Fernshade and started to stalk carefully in a circle around the rabbit until she was on the opposite side of it. She turned and stalked towards the rabbit, pausing when she saw a small twig. Dewleaf took the twig into her jaws and snapped it, which sent the rabbit fleeing towards Fernshade. She chased after it, making sure it went towards her clan-mate.

Fernshade pounced out at the rabbit. It tried to turn around as it saw the mottled tom,but it was too late. He landed right on top of it, using his weight to keep the rabbit down as he clawed at it. He eventually was able to get close enough to bite down on it, causing the rabbit to fall limp. Fernshade cheerily picked up their large catch. "Good job, this'll feed at least three cats," he said.

Dewleaf skidded to a stop, panting. "Yes," she said in between heavy breaths. Finally, she caught her breath. "Do you think we should get Troutpaw so we could head back to camp?" she asked Fernshade. "I heard that Rainkit would be getting her apprenticeship today, and I don't want to miss it."

"Yes, I remember my apprentice day, I was already pretty much the best apprentice in the Clan," he boasted.
Troutpaw hurried back with his catch. "I'm ready to go now."
"Wow, nice catch, Troutpaw," Fernshade said. "Okay, let's get back to camp before the ceremony starts.
