They had agreed to meet with their deputy and medicine cat. Now Daffodilstar was sondering if she should have brought hidden reinforcements. It was not uncommon for another leader to plan an ambush.

His ear twitched. He started to smell more and more cats. Was Daffodilstar planning an attack or was this her escort. He realzied he was not safe. He kept hiding. Making no noise.

He hissed. She was not trusting. He felt betrayed. But he needs the warriors so he still seemed okay and gave a fierce gaze.

Daffodilstar smiles, glad that business is complete. IvyClan is growing weak. Then called after him, "Will we be allowed on your land to get to this cave?"

Sparrowleap marked her side of the border, but felt extremely adventurous. She set a paw on the other side and gave a small purr, putting down another paw and ending up standing on the other side. "Oh no!" She suddenly hissed, realizing how stupid that was. She cleaned her pelt with embarrassment, clearing up her tracks and making her scent disguised with mud and leaves.

Daffodilstar wasn't paying attention to her deputy. She was renewing all of the scent marks and sniffing around for other Clan scents. Suddenly, a horrible stench hit her nose and a fox padded out of the bushes. "Sparrowleap? FOX!" She jumped up and slashed its nose as it lunged for her throat.

Sparrowleap turned around, letting out a little cry of surprise. She saw just in time as the fox was about to go for Daffodilstar, and tried to bowl it over with a volley of bites and deep scratches. She clawed at its eyes, giving it small kicks to no avail. It pushed her back and she fell, slightly winded for a bit before getting up slightly tired. She looked to the leader, hoping that the fox wasn't at her yet again.

Sparrowleap nodded, jumping back on the fox with her claws raking across its cheek very lightly. She gave a small, annoyed growl as it almost shook her off.

Landing the leap, Daffodilstar fought to regain her balance as the fox thrashed wildly. She dug her claws into it's shoulders, making it yelp in pain. She slashed at its ears repeatedly.

The fox growled, lumbering away into the forest.
Sparrowleap looked at Daffodilstar, slightly relieved. "I'm glad it's gone. Anyways, we should go back to camp." She mewed with a small shiver, picking up her prey and readying herself to turn to camp.

Daffodilstar winced, the pain from her leg coming in. She hid it from Sparrowleap, it was only a (huge) scratch. She could see to it once in the medicine cat den. Ignoring her own pain, she glanced at her deputy. "We need to send a patrol to track it and tell all of them to watch out."

"Yes." Sparrowleap agreed with a shaky nod, nursing her own light wounds for a moment but continuing on. "You look hurt. Do you want any help?" She asked curiously, seeing that the leader was trying to hide something.

"Nope." Daffodilstar tried to take a step forward rd on her injured leg. That was a mistake. It collapsed under her and she found herself on the ground. Feeling lightheaded, she looked at the sky for the last time before the sky went black.

Fernshade trotted out of camp, happy to be back in the woods. He followed Creamfur out to the YarrowClan border, Troutpaw in tow.
