((  )) Dewleaf turned and headed towards the fresh kill pile to have her meal of the day. She nosed through the pile of limp animals and pulled out a mouse, then took it to a sunny area near the warrior den. Soon after eating, she twisted back to give her tail a good grooming. |

Fernshade growled as the patrol stormed back to camp, "We shouldn't have let them walk all over us like that."
Troutpaw shrugged, he didn't really like conflict and was glad they had just left.

Dewleaf watched the patrol come in and heard Fernshade growl and padded up to him. "What's wrong?" she asked him. "What happened?"

Fernshade blushed as Dewleaf approached. "Well, I was going to tear some YarrowClan warriors apart, but I guess my patrol wasn't on board," he boasted.
Troutpaw winced at Fernshade's comment, I'd better get out of here before something happens.

Sparrowleap padded over, making an authoritative face. She was the deputy now, and she needed to deal with things. "Is anything wrong here? Did anything happen with that patrol, in terms of a battle or tensions that were happening?" She asked curiously. If a small skirmish took place, Sparrowleap did need to know.

Creamfur rolled his eyes at Fernshade. "Mr. Arrogant here thinks it is better to attack a YarrowClan patrol then make peace even if the Clan leader of YarrowClan is in it." He glared at the warrior. "There are times to fight and times to not."

Creamfur nodded to Dewleaf. "Maybe if you'd been here, I wouldn't have had to practically drag him away from the fight." He sighed, not mad at Fernshade, but still annoyed that he had insisted on fighting.

"Alright, let's not start any arguments. It's better to not fight and make sure that no cats get sent to Mallowbreeze's den for injuries that didn't need to happen. Creamfur, it was a good idea just to leave it be. Were any cats crossing borders? If so, there was a proper reason to engage in battle." Sparrowleap mewed stonily, surprised at how easily the words flowed out of her mouth. Maybe being a deputy made her more serious? It was really odd. She looked at the cats pointedly with her gleaming gaze, waiting for a response.

Sparrowleap gave a sharp nod at this. "Yes. I hope none of those Yarrowclan cats did cross our borders though.... You should have fought if that was the case. If not? It would have been a silly skirmish driven by tensions that might not have even been there. Everyone, you can disperse if you'd like. This isn't really something worth wasting breath over." She announced.

"Sure. Take whoever you'd like, and make sure you make a good contribution to the clan if it's a hunting patrol. No patrols should be wasted." Sparrowleap replied briskly, giving a small dip of her head before padding away to check on the rest of camp. This isn't like me.. I never feel interested in doing pranks or having fun anymore. I don't understand! She thought quizzically to herself.

Daffodilstar was tired of staying in her den. When she heard the commotion, she managed to limp down. "What's going on?"
Creamfur sighed as hi sister approached. Not worth fighting with her again... He padded off to his nest for some rest.

"Ahh.... Nothing really. They were arguing a bit over a patrol to the Yarrowclan border, that's all. Fernshade really wanted to fight them but Creamfur prevented him from doing so and they continued the patrol, so... Not a big deal." Sparrowleap reported with a small shrug.

"I'm not sure. It is your choice.." Sparrowleap said with a small shrug. She didn't want to delve into Daffodilstar's personal life too much, but she did want two siblings to be at ease with each other.

"I know. I really do understand. If you are truly sorry, then it would do some good to apologize and explain for your actions." Sparrowleap urged. She didn't want them to fight again, but felt that Daffodilstar should own up to whatever she did and perhaps she would get an apology from Creamfur too.

"Yeah." Daffodilstar left her deputy and entered the warriors' den. "Creamfur?"
"What?" Creamfur's gruff voice echoed. "What is it that you want now?"
Daffodilstar still looked defiant. "I'm sorry about earlier. I know you were trying to help...I was just angry at the fox because I was injured and in pain. I was mad that I would be stuck in camp."
Creamfur gave her an impressed glance. "That's your excuse?"
"It's true!" Daffodilstar protested.
Creamfur laughed. "I forgive you. I knew that, I just didn't like the way you were talking to me." His eyes danced.
"Good." Daffodilstar winced as a pain in her leg almost made her collapse.

"Actually, we're going to do some border patrolling, too." said Dewleaf to Fernshade. "We're going to check out the DewClan border, then we can hunt. Come on." She padded out of the camp entrance, flicking her tail for the two to follow.

Fernshade trotted after Dewleaf, "I guess I can be a little softer with DewClan, I'm sure they know that I'll shred any cat who tries to mess with our Clan."
Troutpaw padded behind the two older warriors. He spent a lot of time on patrols now since he was the only apprentice. He usually like solitude, but he got bored sometimes.
