Onyxwind padded over to his apprentice, Tinypaw. "Maybe later. Perhaps you could come hunting with me and Snowtiger? It would be good practice." He mewed looking to the entrance of camp and flicking his tail. "Maybe you could catch some prey." He added. "I promise you can go on a patrol later."

" Fine. " The apprentice muttered, just loud enough to hear. " Where are we going? " She added. Although she had wanted to go on patrol, hunting might be fun. Might.

"I'll take good care of her," meowed Foxleaf, "And I'm sure you'll be back on your paws in no time." Turning to the apprentices she meowed, "Let's go join my patrol. Make sure you listen well the borders been hostile lately and I need to know you'll listen and be safe if there's trouble. Your brand new apprentices who will not be in a battle for a long time."
"Why don't we hunt near the Great Beech," meowed Snowtiger as he padded up to Onyxshadow and Tinypaw. "We'll be likely to find prey there."

Without another word, Blizzardstorm led Tawnypaw into the territory. They had already spent plenty of time training and practicing in the thick woods, yet the older tom knew his apprentice needed to be able to handle unfamiliar environments as well. The best place he could think of was the stream. While it wasn't somewhere the typical cat would like, he knew it'd be where RippleClan would be most comfortable, and he wanted to give the younger tom the experience to turn another clan's advantage around.

(Yeah and okay.)) Moleshade landed right on target and bit the Robin's neck. She carried t to where the rest of her prey and went to find Acornpaw. "Hey Acornpaw," she said once she found her " why don't we head back to camp." Moleshade Trotted back towards camp not waiting to see if the apprentice followed. She enjoyed the fresh forestscents that flowed into her nose that cut through the meaty smell of the prey in her mouth. She took I'm each tree and plant and just enjoyed her home.

Tawnypaw sniffed the air tentatively, trying figuring out just where they were going. He had seen most of the territory and knew he could probably guess. He paused. "We're not going to the stream are we?" He asked.
Mintleaf watched the patrols get ready to leave. Blackpaw padded over and sat down. "Maybe I should go on a patrol by myself." The tom said, but wasn't serious. Mintleaf gave a laughing purr.

"We are." Blizzardstorm answered curtly. "You've proven yourself tremendously in the forest, however not every battle will be there. A warrior must always be prepared" Once they got to the stream he stepped into the water, hiding his displeasure with practiced ease. He'd never get used to the way it made his fur cling to his body, but he could at least tolerate it. Blizzardstorm turned around to look back at Tawnypaw, wordlessly waiting for him to come in.

Tawnypaw resisted hissing. He hated the water, why did it have to be water? He followed Blizzardstorm to the stream and stopped at the bank. The tom lashed his tail once before slowly wadding in, trying not to flatten his ears in displeasure. "Cats shouldn't swim." He said.

"I don't disagree with you" Blizzardstorm told him, a rare hint of humor in his voice. "However RippleClan does, and if we're ever in a fight on their turf, this training is needed" He gave Tawnypaw a couple minutes to adjust to the water before speaking again. "We'll be working on some fighting moves in here. And while technique is important, balance and focus are as well. Make a wrong step and the water becomes not just the terrain, but the enemy. An essentially ability is to be able to stay calm in the water. Some moves will require you to go under, and RippleClan warriors may try to pull you down as well"

Tawnypaw didn't like how the water lapped and tugged on him and when he extended his claws, he couldn't grip the rocks, only moss. "Maybe Rippleclan cats should become fish." He mumbled. The tom didn't like the idea of being pulled under the chilling water and with how big he was, he could easily become dead weight.

Blizzardstorm ignored the fish comment, continuing his lesson. "It'd be dangerous to go under all at once without practice, so we'll do a little at a time. I'd like you to start by putting your face in the water, like this" He demonstrated for Tawnypaw, keeping his face under the water for a few seconds before emerging. "It will feel uncomfortable, but you can't let it stop you easily. This will give you an initial feeling of being emerged while giving you the safety of being able to bring your head back up"

Tawnypaw looked at his mentor with wide eyes when he stuck his head under, taking a step back. He didn't like how unatural it was. When Blizzardstorm came back up he listened to him. Tawnypaw took a deep breath and stuck his head forward. When the water went past his muzzle he threw his head back up. "It will get in my ears!" He exclaimed.
(Tawnypaw is a little drama queen XD)

"Just fold your ears back" Blizzardstorm told him simply. "It won't stop the water completely, but it won't be quite as bad" Once again he demonstrated what he wanted Tawnypaw to do before looking to the apprentice.

Tawnypaw was more than happy to tuck his ears back and snapped them as flat as he could to his head. The tom looked at the water once again and stuck his head underwater, keeping it down this time.

Blizzardstorm purred in approval as Tawnypaw kept his head under. He knew Tawnypaw hated the water, yet the fact that he pushed past it to follow the instruction was a good sign. At this rate, Blizzardstorm felt that they may have an extremely productive session.

Tawnypaw wasn't sure how long to keep his head under the water and he didn't want to keep it under for too long. When he started feel a need to take a breath, he pulled his head back up quickly. He shook it back and forth, sputtering a little. He sneezed, forgetting to not open his mouth while he was coming out of the water.

"I'm impressed Tawnypaw" Blizzardstorm meowed honestly. "Despite your discomfort, you stayed under. That was a wonderful display of both restraint and perseverance. Those will both be needed for this next step. Are your paws able to reach the bottom?"

Tawnypaw still wasn't happy about him being wet, but was glad his mentor approved of what he had done so far. He was only up to his chest in the water do He touched the bottom easily. "Yes." He replied.

"Now we'll try and move around in the water, you'll get into a hunter's crouch and try walking, like this" Making sure to flatten his ears against his head, Blizzardstorm crouched in the water, his whole body now submerged. When he got back up, he was right next to Tawnypaw. "This is a little harder, but I know you can do it"

"You want me to put all of my body in the water and still walk?" The tom asked in disbelief. Was that even possible? He looked at the water in confusion.

"You're a strong cat Tawnypaw" Blizzardpaw assured him "You can use your weight and strength to go against the current, much like trying to walk through the wind"

Tawnypaw bent down in the water slowly, putting his ears against his head. He tried to dig his claws into moss from the rocks, but slipped instead, stumbling slightly. He straightened bringing his head out of the water with an aggrivated hiss.

Blizzardstorm moved to help his apprentice when he saw him struggled, but relaxed as the younger tom poked his head up. "Not everything will come at first try" He reassured Tawnypaw. "Focus on moving forward rather than staying still"

He mewed, padding out of camp and flicking his tail for Tinypaw and Snowtiger to come. He tripped on a rock just seconds after, and fell head over paws. Getting up slowly and having been just partially winded, the embarrassed warrior took a deep breath and shook his fur off. "Sorry. I'm fine." He assured them awkwardly with a little tip of his head.

Tawnypaw sighed and tried again. He resisted the urge to stand still and tried to stalk forward a few paces. It was weird like Blizzardstorm had said, like fighting the wind. The tom used his bodyweight to keep him from sliding back against the current.
