Prince Tamlin
Tamlin watched as she tried to think of something anything to say, but she came up empty. It was hollow satisfaction to know exactly how she felt about it. He knew already, but it still stung like the glass in his hand. Part of him wanted to race through the fire, but he couldn't leave her alone. Wouldn't. He wished he had some other weapon at least, perhaps a sword or dagger, but he didn't think he'd need one.
He glanced down at his hand, the blood staining his hands like the red paint he used often. They were slim and angular, long and soft, hands bred for the lap of luxury. Hardly hands made for fighting. And despite his nice physique, Tamlin wasn't the best fighter. He was okay, but any half decent fighter would make carrion of him with iron blade.
Just as Tamlin was about to suggest something, a shadow moved swift and silent. His bride's green eyes went huge as a hand clamped around her mouth and Tamlin caught a glimpse of a dark blade. His breath caught in his throat, and he froze, every muscle coiled like an animal trapped, eyes shifting from the blade to Thelma to the shadow who had materialized into a real, living monster. Lou.
Who was surprisingly small. Both mortal and immortal towered over him.
Tamlin growled, his fingers clenched around his flimsy excuse for a weapon. He dropped it and glared instead, but it was so close. Just one flick of his wrist and back in his hands, and another and could he successfully lodge it in Lou's throat? He didn't want to accidentally miss and hit Thelma.
Luckily, she was not a helpless woman.
A flash of bright teeth caught Tamlin's eyes and Lou began to curse and took his attention off Tamlin. He drew the glass shard back up to his palm, more carefully this time and concealed it the best he could in his palm. "Thelma!" He shouted as she was suddenly sprawled, limp, on the floor.
Anger flooded him, taking over the pain and fear that had once coiled around his insides. He cursed and threw out his hand with the glass shard, but unfortunately, it miss his face and throat by a bit. However, that anger propelled energy into the bloody shard and lodged it into Lou's shoulder, although hardly anything to maim. But the anger was short lived, and the heat swiftly cooled to icy fear. "Nice throw, Tamlin." He scolded himself.
Instead, Tamlin found himself kneeling next to Thelma, pulling her limp, but breathing body onto his lap and into his arms. He held up one hand, hoping he had enough strength to perhaps throw the Captain back if he tried to advance on both of them. "Stay away." He hissed, which was not the most threatening thing, but it was the only thing he could think of.
[ sorry this reply took so gosh darned long and it's pretty crappy xD I wrote it quick before I go back to studying~ ]

Roni Axton
There was a very small number of times when Roni Axton didn't have to come to Lou's rescue, and now couldn't be counted among that number. Naturally, Lou had dropped right into the chaos, determined to piss off as many people as he could. And naturally, Roni had to drag his backside away from the fire. The nineteen year old stared at the building before her, at the crackling flames and billowing smoke, and sighed heavily. "You owe me, Lou," she muttered to herself. She rolled her shoulders, cracking the joints to release tension, and then broke into a dead sprint. Her agility came in handy as she dove into the flaming building, leaping over a beam that had crumpled to the ground below, weakened by the flames eating at its wood. She heard Lou's yell of pain over the screams of terror, and spun around, trying to pinpoint his location. The string of curses that would make any sailor blush told her where Lou was, and she made her way to his location. There was a fae crouched on the ground, a woman in his lap who was very much unconscious, and Lou was clutching his injured hand to his chest. Roni sighed, and shot Lou a very annoyed look. "You have to make everything difficult, don't you?" she complained. With a sigh, she moved forward. In a blur, her fist shot out and connected with the side of Tamlin's jaw. While he was distracted, she bent, scooped the woman up and tossed her over her shoulder, staggering slightly beneath the woman's weight. "You owe me," she snapped at Lou, and then turned to leave. There was a loud groaning, and to her left, another beam buckled beneath the heat and collapsed. Roni swore, darting forward, desperate to get out of the collapsing building. She was not really interesting in dying, and being this far away from the safety of the ocean made her uncomfortable. If they could make it to the Eventide, they would be Scott free.
A piece of burning debris dropped down onto Roni's arm, and she bit the inside of her cheek to keep from crying out in pain. Without warning, the fire seemed to swell upward, as if drawn by some force. It was as if it had been swallowed by a massive tornado, as it coalesced into the half-destroyed roof of the cathedral. "That's our cue," Roni sighed. When the fire started to dance in an unnatural way, it was time to get the hell out of dodge. The Night King could control the elements, and Roni didn't want to be on receiving end of his anger - at least not yet. With a thunderous whoosh, the fire exploded upward and away, as if devoured by a cyclone. In its wake was the gutted cathedral. Roni poured on the speed, barreling towards the safety of the Eventide. The girl she carried was a deadweight on her shoulder, but she bore it nonetheless. If they failed to get at least one important hostage, the whole mission would've been a colossal waste of time, and if there was one thing that Roni disliked, it was wasting time on pointless missions.

Thane Thadrin Wolfsong
There were few things more devastating than the loss of a child, and in that instant, Thane felt as if his entire world had been destroyed. Despair welled within his heart as he watched the cathedral burn to the ground, and though his guards tried to get him to flee, Thane remained rooted to his spot. If he was to lose his son, Tamlin deserved to have his father there for him, even if he couldn't escape. He could feel a darkness rising within him - a darkness of pain and grief and rage. The air around the Night King started to hum, as if it were charged with electricity. There was a buzzing in Thane's ears, one that drowned out the words of his guards screaming at him. He stared at the man, tried to comprehend the words that he was saying, but the despair and sorrow welling within him was too much. He felt his control on his power slipping, and no matter how much he tried to reign the grief back, his fingers were deadened and his senses were dulled. He couldn't grasp at his sanity any more, and for the first time in his life, Thane Thadrin Wolfsong, King of the Immortal Court and First of his name, lost control.
Thane detonated.
There was a concussive wave of sound and air that burst outward, the night king at its epicentre. The ground shook and rumbled; cracks opened up beneath the feet of those around Thane, and they were forced to dive to safety. The fire swelled, drawn to the allure of Thane's power. It began to spin, as if forming a cyclone of destruction. Thane couldn't think, couldn't direct the elements that he'd summoned. The earth continued to rumble and shake, knocking numerous people who'd gathered around the burning cathedral to the ground. The air thrashed, tearing at the hair and the clothes of the onlookers. Thane stood at the center of the chaos, untouched, stormy eyes fixated on the tomb of his son. There was a loud crack; the earth beneath the cathedral began to shift and open, a massive fissure running through its centre. The fire swelled again, and then burst upward as if pulled by some force. It shot towards Thane, whipping around him in a vortex of destruction and chaos, reflecting the turmoil he felt inside. He longed to close his eyes, to turn his face from the loss of his son, but he couldn't. His son was gone; his son was dead, choked to death by the smothering smoke. He'd died in terror, calling for his father, the one person who should've been there to protect him. He'd failed to protect his son. Oh Gods, his son. His baby. His Tamlin.
Thane dropped to his knees with a ragged cry, slamming his fists to the earth. It quaked in response. The vortex of fire burst outward slightly, reflecting Thane's anguish. He longed to weep, but the tears wouldn't come.
Only the grief, the despair, the sorrow would.
With a whoosh and a crack, the fire swept outward and dissipated. The air settled is thrashing, and grew calm again. The earth stilled. All that was left was the charred remains of the cathedral.
All that was left was pain and grief.
All that was left was ash.
Just ash.
