Requirements:
Be literate. (Use proper grammar and not many typos.) Be descriptive. (Use imagery and strong language.) And lastly be able to type at least 20 lines per post.
The reason why is because I would like to improve my writing skills!
Starter:
Breathing heavily while feeling a warm liquid run down his back, the guy in the alley turned around sharply, glaring at the other guy behind him. He could feel his fist rip through the air and make contact with the other guy's jaw across from him, sparks flying from his fist. A split second after that, something hard came into contact with his chest, causing him to slide backwards and almost lose his balance. The guy's chest was in pain, and he wiped his mouth with his hand, trying to get some blood off. This was just a normal day in the life of Lucian Crow. Getting into fights with people from enemy gangs and stuff. After all, he wasn't a gang member for nothing. The guy who had gotten suckerpunched in the jaw had met with a certain fate, and Lucian grinned to himself, sparks surrounding his body. He had the power to control lightning, bending it to his will. He was a pro at it too, so he decided to have some fun and join a gang. The guy across from him who had decided to start the fight, well, he was a low life who had the power of super strength. It was useful...unless you went up against someone who can control the elements. People who could bend the elements were strong, while the rest were pretty much useless in his eyes. Lucian chose to do bad things with his powers, stealing and fighting and gang related stuff. That goes to say that his life was never uneventful. Always looking for trouble and having fun with it.
Walking away from the guy on the ground, he held up two fingers with a wallet between them. Flipping through the thick wad of cash with a satisfied chuckle, he decided to go home for the night. It was around three in the morning, when most sane people were asleep and away from trouble. A cold breeze swept through the night, causing Lucian to stuff his wallet and hands in his pockets. The cold was merciless, biting at his face. All he had to protect him from the cold was a black hoodie and some dark jeans. The hoodie had the gang's logo on the back, which was a Crow. He had the hood pulled up over his head, and the only thing visible was some jet black hair. Staying in the shadows as he made his way down the sidewalk, he began to sing to himself.
"Here we go again, I feel the chemicals kickin' in..." He sang the tune to Animal by Neon Trees to himself, not wanting to listen to the silence of the night. The pain from the punch was no longer bothering him, though the stab wound on his back was annoying. But even that was practically nothing. Just a small dagger and some blood, nothing like a gunshot which he's experienced before.
The world was now run by a social hierarchy, where the people with elemental powers were on the top, and at the bottom were powers like strength and invisibility. Lucian just happened to be pretty infamous in the city for his criminal ways, but he loved the attention.
{Ah, hello! I appreciate it if you made it this far. If you're still interested, then just jump right in! As for ideas, I do have one that would make this RP a bit more interesting. You can have an elemental power and be in a different gang which could lead to drama between the two and possibly some forbidden romance. >;3}

(Hi there. Would you simply like me to post a starter post or should we decide when our characters meet? Also, are you looking for a M x F relationship or M x M?)

{Hello! And yeah, you can just jump right in. For relationships, I'm open to either. It doesn't matter to me, whatever you're more comfortable with. }

The sky above was black and foreboding, threatening to break on the world below. Standing on the long, wet driftwood dock, the waves beyond her crashed against the posts beneath. The lone lamp above flickered as the storm closed in. Hands in her jean pockets and dark t-shirt, the girl stared out at the water. She did not care that the rain would soon be falling upon her, soaking her to the bone. She found herself here each night, hoping for a storm to distract her from the hell in which she lived.
Coming from one of the two most powerful gangs on Eastmore, The Ravens, Eva at the top, she could do as she pleased. Despite being one of the top members and seeing the carnage her gang was capable of, she preferred to sit out and watch everything unfold. The gang was her family; her everything. She was literally the most powerful member. The only one with powers. Being a Raven, one was required to prove themselves to be ruthless and cunning. Strength was great, but it was better, in her eyes, to be clever and daring to push oneself further. She had a bit of an odd upbringing and was thrust into the gang life at a young age. Adopted by the current leader when he was eighteen gave Eva the opportunity to be trusted. A primarily black, rather bad-a** group, Eva was one of the outsiders in the fact that she was white; pale as sand.
Tonight, in the wee hours of the morning, Eva found herself back on the dock. Earlier in the day, a brawl had broken out among several guys. Two middle-class members and three high ranking members. Blood, knives, guns, and brass were involved. Usually Eva and her "brother" (the leader) would let these things take their course, but Eva hated confrontation between family members. She was forced to break it up; using her gift. The men were not very happy with her, but they'd have to get over it. Tempers and words came with this recent event. Eva was never one to shed tears -- in front of people. This dock was her safe haven; a place where she could hide her insecurities. The wind blew against her face, nearly knocking her backwards, but she wasn't even phased. Eva sighed, blinking against the raindrops that had begun to fall. Today was her birthday, not that it meant anything to anybody. She never celebrated it; no presents, no cake, no balloons. She felt nothing for her birthdays. They were just another day to pass, but something told her today would be different. A gut feeling, she assumed. Shrugging her shoulders and staring out as the waves that crashed beneath the dock, the age of the wood beginning to show as it began to creak. Shaking her head, she turned and walked into the darkness, heading back to the shore. "Time to go home..." She whispered to herself. It wasn't like anyone would hear her anyway; it was three-thirty in the morning.

{Ah, I apologize for the long poof! I ended up playing Overwatch and 'got ready for bed' when I'm actually going to stay up for a few more hours.}
Lucian passed by some shops, seeing his reflection from the glass of the windows. He huffed, looking a bit disheveled from the fights a bit earlier. His hair was rather messy, and his logo had been ripped and bloody from getting stabbed. It wasn't really a good look for him. Of course he had to run into the Ravens tonight. They were ruthless, always looking for a reason to fight. Even with a high ranking member of the Crows that had the power to control lightning. And lightning was not something to be taking lightly, as it causes severe burns and even paralyzes its victims, either temporarily or permanently. After all, lightning had up to one billion volts of electricity. And Lucian just happened to be the lucky guy who could control it.
Both gangs dominated the streets, which meant chaos and destruction everywhere. It was a battle of power, always fighting for more turf. Lucian always took part in the turf wars, waiting for someone to fight that would prove a challenge. The thought of a real fight excited him, one where he could let loose. So far he hadn't met his match, but he had heard rumors of someone from a rival gang with terrifying powers. Oh how badly he wanted to meet this person so he could crush them. Lucian was pretty greedy as well as selfish, wanting to come out on top and be all-powerful. He always liked to think of himself as one of the most powerful already, which has led to some trouble.
Shaking his head to clear his thoughts, Lucian continued his walk to the place he called home, a vacant apartment he claimed as his own. Glancing up at the sky, in the distance, it seemed a storm was approaching. Lucian, having the power over lightning, loved storms. He always stood outside as thunder sounded and lightning struck without mercy, feeling an abundance of energy as the lightning flashed beside him. It gave him an advantage in battle, since he was surrounded by a sky full of lightning just waiting to strike. Feeling a slight drizzle, which usually signaled the start of the storm, he cliched his tongue with a tch. He hated rain as it was wet and cold. Being soaked to the bone was just an unpleasant feeling for him.
Anyway, the lightning-wielder was coming up on the outskirts of town, stepping into Raven territory, planning on easily slipping through. It wasn't his best idea, but he wasn't going to take the long way. The outskirts of town was a pretty nice place, surrounded by water which stretched as far as the eye could see. There was a nice calm breeze in the area, and the smell of the water was actually pretty nice and nostalgic, reminding him of his childhood. The time in his life where he didn't have to watch his back all the time. Quickening his pace a bit as he stuck to the shadows, he silently came up towards the dock, not paying attention as he watched the waves hit the land. Before he knew it, he felt himself run into something hard. Because of the contact, there was a slight shock as the two connected. Turning to glance at what had hit his shoulder, he saw a girl.
"What's a girl like you doing out so late? And alone for that matter?" Lucian's voice was kind of deep, with a rough edge to it. "Better find your way home before the storm hits, girl." He stated instead of apologizing, shrugging to himself and turning his back to her as if nothing happened, not planning to hang around and have a conversation or anything. It was bad enough someone was out here, as they could call the police or something foolish that would just waste his time. Plus, the Ravens could be anywhere. He knew he needed to get away as soon as possible and back into his own territory.

"You better have a good reason for being on my turf," Eva growled, eyes glaring at this loser who'd literally pushed past the fact he'd ran into her. "And knocking me over without so much as an apology." She was not afraid of anything. She clenched and unclenched her fists, trying to calm down. If she got angry enough, her power side would awaken and take over; not that she was opposed to it. She took a deep breath. It was very hard to see in the darkness. The nearest street lamp was back on the end of the dock, in which she was now back on the boardwalk with this inconsiderate pr*ck. He seemed c*ckey and even a regular, non-gang member wouldn't be stupid enough to ignore the fact they'd walked into her. Now, a Crow on the other hand....
Eva had yet to hear a response from this guy. Seriously, he'd better have a good reason or I'll blow his head off. She thought. Part of her wondered if he had unconsciously wanted to pick a fight. It was three-thirty in the morning. Who was even still awake, besides him and her? A sane person would be fast asleep or at least be in front of television in the privacy and safety of their own home. And if this guy, whoever he was, was telling her to go home, well, he was about to find out who he was dealing with... as was she. "You should be the one to go home. Clearly you're delusional if you think I'm the one whom needs to go home." Eva would not be letting this go so easily. He better not try anything funny. She was stronger and faster than she looked. "I mean, who the he// do you think you are?" She was getting angrier by the second; her rage didn't take long to boil over.

{It's alright! ;3}
"Hey now, no need to get so angry. I'm just passing through on my way back home. Decided to take a shortcut." Lucian looked back at the girl, narrowing his eyes slightly. "And I don't need to apologize. If anyone, you should apologize for getting in my way." He smirked at her, crossing his arms over his chest. Whoever this girl was, it didn't matter to him. She was wasting his time, and time was precious. But something about her struck his curiosity, and so he spared a little extra time. Otherwise, he would have just continued walking. Yes, the guy was c*cky, and he knew it. That's how gang members usually acted anyway, right? Only thinking about themselves and their turf.
"Yeah, that's literally exactly what I'm doing. Going home. You think I wanna stay here in this dump?" He rolled his eyes sarcastically though she wasn't able to see from under his hood, acting like one of those smart kids in school. Letting out a chuckle at her next comment, he shifted his stance. "Me? Delusional? I think you've got it wrong, girl." His tone was a bit harsh at the end, as if he dared her to tell that to him again. "The Ravens are the ones who are delusional. Picking fights with anyone and everyone so I've heard. Just earlier, one of them stabbed me in the back. Not too fun." The guy said in a serious tone, guessing she was a Raven from the way she mentioned 'my turf'. He paused, noticing the rain started to fall a bit heavier than before as silence hung in the air between them. The breeze started to pick up as well, and he could feel it hit his face.
"Lucian. Nice to meet ya." Reaching for his hood, he pulled it down to reveal his face, talking like she should already know him. He had electric blue eyes, messy black hair, and a scar running from under his left eye down his chin. He had earned it from a fight a long time ago during a turf war, and he knew it wasn't going to ever go away. "Y'know, I'm cool and all, but I'm curious about you too. Tell me about yourself. How much money you have on you right now. That kinda stuff." The guy ran a hand through his hair, which was now damp from the rain. Glancing around to make sure they were alone and no other Ravens had come along, he focused his gaze back on her.

(: I'm having fun RPing. She's a new type of character for me -- gang member, doesn't take sh*t. This will be a learning experience for me in that sense.)

Eva was never one to be surprised, but it took all she had in her to control herself. He really thought she was some daddy's lost little girl. She smirked, "Well, aren't you sweet to ask about me, after telling me a bit of sh*t about you." She loved playing devil's advocate. So, he was a Crow; definitely not surprising at all. He could say whatever he wanted about this side of town. Just because it was home to the Ravens didn't mean that upheld the city too. Gangs were not in charge of making places nice places to live. It was the city's fault that the south end of Eastmore looked like a dump; that and the odd body count at times thanks to her family.
This guy, Lucian, why did that name sound familiar?, clearly thought he was all that and a bag of chips, bragging that he had a successful brawl with one of her members. She didn't ask for nightly. or even daily, reports from her followers. She did not care enough to keep tabs; that was her 'brother's' job. She had yet to hear if this attack actually took place. She shook her dark brown, almost black, hair out of her face. "I never make it a point to reveal myself to anyone who does not need to know. You're not worth my time," Eva replied, tone dripping with distaste. "Lucian, is it?" She whispered loudly, stepping slightly closer. "You have no idea who you're dealing with." She even took it a step further and pushed past him, started walking away, making her way up the boardwalk back to town. Once she was just within the limits of earshot, she called back to him. "Better hurry; you look like you hate the rain." She chuckled as she turned back on to the main street, heading back for her house which was several miles away; something she did not mind walking by herself.
