Alice could feel the tears Erin was weeping fall onto her head, though she said nothing about it. She picked her head up and looked at Erin holding his gaze for what felt like eternity before kissing him as firmly as she could muster in her saddened state. Tears continued to stream down her face as she did, it was on last kiss before their goodbyes. They would never see each other again, and she could only pray this kiss would last for as long as it could. Because at the end, they would part ways.

(I kinda feel bad now.... but just kinda)
Erin kissed her back passionately, what was about to come would be the hardest thing he'd ever have to do. He was giving up the love of his life, and in the proccess he could be possibly giving his own life as well. He pulled away soon after, he was scared to kiss her for too long. His emotions were all over the place and he just wanted this day to be over with. "I'm going to miss you so much" he whispered to her quietly, still holding her to him.

{Same} Alice kept close to Erin's face, she wiped away his tears from his face and the from her own. "I love you so much Erin," she paused to hold his face in her hands, "please...please don't ever forget me, and I will do the same." She was holding back tears, trying to keep herself from looking worse than she does now. But Erin didn't get an opportunity to respond, as the border guards had seemed to have spotted the two of them. And Alice quickly let go of Erin.
"You there! What buisness do have-" the guard stopped speaking once he had seen better who was there. The lantern he carried making their faces more clear to him from upon their horses. "Princess Alice Taylor!" He gasped, lifting the helmet of his armor as if in deibelief. But it was, it was Princess Alice Taylor. He turned to the guard riding beside him and barked an order, "Alert the castle, Princess Alice Taylor has returned!" And with that the guard set off. The one who stayed though, did not pay attention to Erin, he figured he must have returned her to her land, "Come along the both of you! You shall surely be welcomed in their house for returning her good sir.'

Erin took a step away from Alice as the guards showed up out of nowhere, it startled him pretty badly. He gave a nod agreeing to going with them but he was very nervous to go with them. As much as he wanted to stay with Alice for longer going into the kingdom wouldn't be the greatest idea. (Sorry this is shirt I'm in class.)

Alice, the guard, and Erin walked quickly and beelined for the castle. The guard relayed how her family has been worried about her, including her oldest brother Joshua. They never really got along, except at formal meetings where they had to at least act like it. The walk felt short though, and she was hoping it would have been longer. It was nice to hear about her family, it felt like an eternity since she had last seen them. The guard did not ask questions about where she had been though, he must have assumed she either didn't want to talk about it or it would be cleared up soon. Which both were quite true.
The guard had taken them to the palace before handing them over to another escort in the castle so he could continue with his patrol. The escort’s seemed quite urgent and moved very quickly to the throne room, which felt quite a ways away since Alice was unbelievably tired. But before she knew it, she was in the presence of family: her mother Helen, her father Merek, her eldest brother Joshua, and her two younger brothers Irvin and Fletcher. Alice had to cry joyful tears at being reunited with them, as did they. Her father was the first to notice Erin, and he looked at him curiously once everyone had settled down. "And who might you be sir? Are the man that has returned my daughter safely to her home?"

A servant will be in the room, and will get that 'a ha' sort of moment after Erin half lies

Erin walked more of a dostance away from Alice as he usually would, as they got into the palace he took a look around. It was so different from the sights he was used to seeing, not to mention the castle. The castle to him was something he never thought he'd end up getting inside. It was so much bigger than he'd though and now that he was in one it was a very strange feeling. When they were brought to Alice's family he stood quite a ways away hoping not to be noticed, but soon the king's attention soon turned to Erin as he asked the question. He kept his gaze towards the ground as he responded "y-yes, I found her in trouble with people from where I'm from. She needed help and I provided as much as I could" that was a straight lie, and to someone of his status as well. "Now that she's safe I'll be happy to be out of your hair, I see no point in staying longer than needed"

King Merek seemed quite satisfied at Erin's answer, but he wasn't ready to let him go yet. His brown and blue eyes that matched Alice's were wide with surprise at hearing his kind actions. He would have assumed that whoever found her kept her for the money, but this young man helped his daughter. "I can't let you leave without a reward. You saved my only daughter from certain doom! What is it that you want? I can surely provide it." King Merek will give this young man anything his heart desires for his deeds, he deserved it after all.
However, another in the room didn't seem to think so. It was a maid of Alice's that had seemed to suddenly grow fearful. "My lord, that man is no hero! I saw him take the princess with my own eyes! He is the reason for your child to be gone for so long!" The maid was quite frantic at this point, and very pale at the sight of Erin. He did kidnap the lady she serves, she had a right to be afraid.
Alice knew this wouldn't be good, she held on tighter to her mother as she braced herself to hear what her father had to say. "Is it true? Guards!" He bellowed through the room, and almost instantly at least ten guards came through the adjacent rooms and into the throne room. Two had seized Erin, keeping him from escaping. "You dare lie to the face of the king, boy? I will make you suffer for all the suffering you have caused my family!"
It was at this that Alice had to say something, her eyes were filled with pain and she was beginning to cry again, "No! Father, please, he-"
"Silence! How dare you defend a criminal? We will discuss this later, for now," He turned his attention to Erin, his eyes blazing with fury and his jaw clenched tight. "What do you have to say for yourself?"

Erin was about to respond to the king, but that was before he was cut off my one of the servants. He knew it was over now, there was no way he'd live to see another day. Surely he'd be executed, in front of the love of his life no less. "I have nothing to say for myself, I'll admitt. I did take your daughter, but I was wrong in doing so. As much as I wish I hadn't I found her to be a lovely young lady and I...." he let his voice trail momentarily, he wanted to admit his love for Alice but it would not have helped his case one bit. "I found she was a very nice person, and she didn't deserve for that to happen. I regret my decisions very much but apologies will not make up for it. If you wish to have me killed I will not argue." He looked at Alice as he talked, unsure of how she would react to his statement but it was true. All he said was true, he left put no detail other than the favt they'd fallen in love with each other. "I'm sorry, Alice" he said quietly afterwards

Alice stared at Erin, her lip quivering as she took in everything he had said, and she choked back tears to not make a scene. She had caused enough trouble and has made her father angry enough as it is. He can't be executed, she wanted - no, needed - Erin to live. As long as he was alive, no matter where he was, she would find a reason to live. The king however continued to stare at Erin who he thought of as nothing more than a criminal, "Interesting words." His attention went to the guards holding him, "Take him to the dungeons. His trial before the royal court begins at sunrise." He said in a firm, almost growl like tone. Alice was slightly relieved to hear he would have a trial. Even though her father's blood was boiling, he knew the laws. Everyone received a fair trial. King Merek waved the guards off. They half dragged, half guided towards the dungeons. But before Erin turned the corner, Alice mouthed to him, 'I love you.' Hopefully he had read her lips before he was taken away. The guards however obviously paid no mind to this and continue to take Erin down under the ground into the cold, wet, poorly lit dungeons. They practically threw him into one of the cells, and threw an insult or two at him before locking him up to the shackles on the walls and locking the door.

Erin couldn't look away from Alice, even as they had dragged him away he couldn't let his gaze fall anywhere else than her eyes. He didn't get a chance to mouth anything back before turning the corner which hurt him slightly, he wished he could have had time to respond but they were moving to quick for him to even give a smile. He kept up as well as possible with his leg being sore from the long walk they had just getting back to the kingdom. As he was thrown into the cell he just sat there unsure of what he planned on doing. He had no clue what would be decided at the trial but he hoped for the best, he knew he needed to live for Alice and Ethan. But if he were to be executed he knew it would end quickly, which would be all he could ask for. After awhile he got onto the small hard place that he figured was to be his bed and closed his eyes, though he wouldn't sleep one bit. He'd be too busy thinking, and hoping he would make it. He even tried praying once, though he'd never thought of it until he met Alice.

It must have been at least two or three hours since Erin was thrown into the dungeons, but it felt longer. Loneliness and saddening thoughts seemed to make the hours feel longer as she got cleaned up before bed. Her maids were all chatting away and crying about how they had missed her, but she called for silence after a while. She wanted to be left alone to cry, pray, think, anything that would help her cope. But nothing seemed to be working yet. Not until she was able to see Erin. Alice decided it would be best to slip out during the night and see him. There were only the guards guarding the exits and enterances of the castle like normal during the night and since she had no need to go to the exits and enterances, she had no need to worry about it. However the dungeon guard was who she had to worry about. That is, until he said he would want to confront his captor as well. He must have thought that Alice was going to ridicule him, to which she simply nodded. Whatever it took to see Erin, she would. The guard stayed at his post at the dungeon's enterance while she made her way down the stairs and to where Erin was being held. She knew where he was being kept, Alice had heard guards speaking about it when they passed her room. "Erin?" She asked, unsure why her tone was that of a question.

Erin had been almost asleep finally when Alice came, he was unsure of who it was at first, but soon recognized that voice to be Alice's. He stood quickly and went and pressed himself against the bars of the small cell he was stuck inside. "Alice..." he said quietly in response, he was more than happy to see her after those hours passed, time felt as if it hadn't moved at all since he left her side, he was so used to being around her that not having her around left him with nothing but the boredom that came with being alone in his thoughts. "I didn't think I'd see you until the morning" he admitted as he looked at the ground, he was still scared to see her as it hurt knowing sooner or later he'd either be dead or not allowed to see her at all.

Alice moved to the bars of the cell as well. She looked up at Erin, sadness filling her mis matched gaze, and the tears she was holding back reflected in the dim lighting. "I needed to see you before then, I...I couldn't leave us off in the place we did. I care about you too much for that." She placed a hand on his cheek through the bars gently. He was cold, she could tell. The dungeons were cold though, as it seemed to breed disease, and when you have prisoners, that seemed to be the only thing they get besides torture. "We have to try and think of a way to make sure you win this trial. If you win, I don't know what happens, but if you lose, I do know. And I want to keep that from being reality."

Erin smiled as he looked at her, being able to see her before then was something he needed. He was loosing hope quickly but knowing she would even come see him when he figured she shouldn't was nice. "I love you Alice, I'll do anything it takes to make sure I win, I just hope I get to see you after everything's over." He said to her as he out a hand on hers, the warmth of her hand was amazing to feel, the cell was freezing and he'd do anything to be anywhere else that was warmer than there. "Has your dad tried to speak to you about me?" He questioned, scared to hear the answer. He could have asked her whatever he wanted and she'd be forced to answer, whether she told the truth or not was what made the difference. After a moment he reached through the bars with his other hand and let it rest on her side, he so badly wanted to be able to be back in bed holding her again.

Alice shook her head 'no' when asked about her father. "Not yet anyway. He'll probably ask everything he wants at the trial, where I can't try to skip the question." The thought scared her, she knew her father was only afraid for her, but it hurt her nonetheless. Alice's eyes went to Erin's hand on her side once she felt it there, and moved as close as she could with the bars in the way. "You're so cold, will you be okay overnight?" She asked, concern laced in her voice. He wasn't cold enough for her to shiver at his touch, but he was too cold for her liking. If only she could sneak him something down here, but it would be impossible with the guard. And if they saw a blanket that didn't belong to prisoners, they would surely think he escaped during the night momentarily.

"I'll be happy to answer him, do you think he'll take it well? I mean i won't tell him everything but anything he asks about us I'll answer." Erin said to Alice as she moved closer, he wanted to bring her into the cell but he knew that was a thing he could only wish for. "I doubt 'okay' is the right term for what I'll be." He answered with a small laugh, hoping to keep things lighthearted with her. "But I'll survive, if that's what you're worried about." He said to her reassuringly, though his voice didn't really match his words all too well. If he were honest with her he'd feel like he would freeze to death overnight, being down there was torture in its own right and he hoped that was the least of his troubles for now.

Alice didn't look convinced, but she didn't say that wasn't. She assumed it was obvious enough in her facial expressions. "I wish I could stay with you for the night, but I'm afraid that would get us in more trouble than we're in right now. I hate to see you be in such circumstances." Alice assumed Erin would want her to be with him for the night as well, their body heat would surely help things in the cold. But Alice couldn't say that she wanted to spend the night in the dungeon. She always feared the dungeon when she was a little girl, and quite frankly she still does, she would always be too afraid to go near it because of the prisoners down there and the possibility of being lost and never to be found. They made these dungeons hard to navigate for a reason, they didn't want prisoners escaping.

"I just want to get out of here" Erin said to Alice, here meaning the dungeons. "I wish i could stay with you, somewhere where we won't be bothered. I wish we could lay together and be happy. But that's not going to happen any time soon..." he let his voice trail before looking away from her, he was clearly distraught because of the place he landed in. "I'm so scared" he added quietly, trying not to cry again. He wished he could leave with Alice and just live happily. He was so scared of the possibilities of what could happen to him tomorrow

Alice wanted with all of her heart, mind, and soul exactly what Erin did. She wanted everything all of these other happy couples did and then some. Did they not deserve it, and if that was the case, why not? Was it sins that had caused such ill circumstances to force their way upon her and Erin's lives? It may be so, but Alice was not God, she didn't know, and maybe she never will. "Don't be Erin, we'll just have to fight with everything we have. And whether you and I will be together for the rest of our lives afterwards, I don't know, but as long as you live, I will have reason to."

"I have no reason to live if I'm not with you. You are all I have..." Erin replied before stepping away from her, he didn't know how he could live without her, or if he could at all. "Alice without you my life has no meaning. Im nobody, theres no one who cares about what happens to me aside from you." He didn't know how they'd be able to fight against the king and his court, everything was going wrong. He didn't have a thought on how they could convince her father to let him off without dying. He so badly wanted to live with her, wherever she would be, and marry her. He saw life being better with her by his side. He wanted to have kids with her and raise them to be proper. He wanted to be a better father than his own. There was so much he wanted to do with her but he felt like his time with her was cut short.

"we have to win, we have to find some angle to play at..." she gripped the bars tight until her knuckles turned white as she desperately tried to think of a plan. But Erin was clearly guilty, he kidnapped her and there was a witness. Her head shot up suddenly however when it dawned on her that there was a loose thread in the case. "Erin, would you say you've caused any harm to my by your hands? Or gained anything materialistic or personal from me being there? With wrong intentions I mean." Alice couldn't think of anything off the top of her head that Erin had personally done to her. Any danger she was put through was because of other people.

Erin stood looking at her, he hadn't caused her any harm at all. Maybe that was his way out of this. "No I haven't, I mean I fell for you quite quickly so harming you at all would make me feel bad as a person. And I definitely didn't gain anything materialistic from anything" he said and blinked a few times, he wasn't sure what would happen the next day but that would be the best thing going for them. "Are you sure that would work? I mean.. your father was furious when he found out."

Alice's brows knitted together in concentration, and she closed her eyes briefly to get her thoughts in order. She was exhausted, the only reason she was staying up was for Erin, and it was getting harder to stand on her own. She needed to sit down, or lay down better yet. "The trial is between us and my father, the judges decide who they believe is innocent or guilty. If it was my father, it would be too biased, and quite illegal. The king has to follow the laws as well." She explained quickly before continuing to ask questions, "Would you say it was your personal desicion to return me home, that there weren't any outside influences? And would you say I arrived here safely under you supervision?" She was wanting to make sure that Erin thought these things were true, and she wanted to know his explanation for his claims as well. This is what they would be using in court after all.

Erin nodded, she was right with everything she'd said. He was also very glad that the king didn't get to make the choice, he'd surely be killed if he did. "Yes, it was my idea. And if you consider yourself to be safe now and when we made our way here then yes, I did get you here safely." He replied before taking a seat on his bed, but still looking at her and listening to anything she might say. He hoped she was able to keep him free from death, and hopefully he'd be able to stay with her once again. He couldn't picture her with someone else and would refuse to see it as well. "I hooe this works, Alice. It needs to" he stated to her before sighing lightly "it's getting quite late, you should go get some rest." He stated before getting up and walking close to her again. He put out a hand and placed it on her shoulder and smiled, looking into her eyes. "I love you" he mentioned to her, his eyes glowing with passion as he stared at her

Alice's plan had to work, it was their only chance of Erin keeping his life and escaping with minimal punishment. But she wasn't sure what punishment that may be. The most popular were about ten lashes from the dungeon master's whip, or a debt to the royal family. Each amount varies depending on the crime, but something told Alice that Erin would receive the whipping. She wanted to make sure however, that she wasn't there to see it, but only there to care for him afterwards. Alice pulled Erin closer to the bars and gave him a small smile, "I can't go to bed without a kiss goodnight." She chuckled lightly, trying to keep the mood light for Erin
