Elliot didn't appear phased by the older boy's words, but on the inside he was quite furious. He wasn't going back without the girl, and he will take her back through any mean possible. He held his sword in a way that seemed like he was going to use it, in which he was. "Because this is why." He said, in a deadly serious tone. He lifted his sword, but only used the handle of it and delivered a blow to the younger boy's ribs. That would definitely leave a bruise. He figured using the actual blade of the sword was a bit much, but if it got to that point, he would certainly use it. "Now I'm going to say this again: give us the girl."

Ethan instantly fell holding his side, writhing in pain. He knew Erin, and he knew he wouldn't quit that easily. He told himself he could take the pain, he had to. As much as he loved living he wasn't scared to dis for the safety of his friends and family, he secretly thought of Alice as a friend but never spoke of it. He knew he needed to endure what was to come but was more than scared.
Erin stood glaring at Elliot, anger flesrly in his facial expression. He was breathing quite heavily, trying to keep calm and not go on the attack, he knew it wasn't much use if considering Elliot had said there was more than just him. "I swear one day I'm going to slit your f****** throat." He growled he was more than just angry, his feelings were all over the place. But he could tell Elliot was not from Alice's kingdom, he didn't look the part. "Ethan, I'm so sorry"' he said quietly, but still audible, his gaze didn't move from it's fixated position on Elliot

Elliot hadn't looked down to see the boy he found out to be named Ethan when he had hit him. There wasn't a point, plus if he was distracted, the older brother could take advantage of that. They obviously weren't giving up anytime soon. How stupid were they? Elliot knew he would kill Ethan if need be. He won't enjoy it but he certainly wouldn't hesitate to. Elliot raised an eyebrow at the older brother, "Making threats now are we? I can make them as well." He did look over at Ethan this time, assuming the men in hiding would jump out if need be. Elliot scoffed at seeing the boy on the ground, he hit him hard sure, but still. Elliot shook his head, "I hope you know what you're doing to him." Elliot smirked at the older brother as he lifted his foot and then promptly kicked Ethan at least five times, hearing a sickening crunch once or twice as he did so.

Erin stood silent, he knew exaclt what he was putting Ethan through but he knew his younger would understand. He felt the need to do something but he only took a step further from the door before stopping. He brushed the hair out of his face again and watched in horror as he heard the crunching, which he could only assume was Ethans ribs cracking and breaking from the heavy kicks. This whole time Ethan had been on the ground, screaming in pain, he couldn't do much at all to protect himself as Elliot was more than twice his size and much taller.
"Erin it's okay, please just keep yourself safe, do your job!" He managed to say, between light breaths. At this point he was barely able to breathe, the pain from his ribs and the fact if he had tried to breathe the pain would just seem to worsen. He understood what that meant, if Erin didn't step in or let him leave with Alice he was most likely to die that day

Elliot was disappointed, and not at himself. He was disappointed at the older brother, who found to be named Erin. It was terrible that he wouldn't just cooperate and give him the girl. It would be less work for them anyhow. Anger flashed across Elliot's features as he stared at Erin, "Do I need to kill him for you to get me the girl? I will do it. Don't underestimate me." He said through clenched teeth and readied his sword, holding it against Ethan's neck, Pressing it into his skin just enough to start drawing blood. Taking his anger out on Ethan was wrong, sure, but if it would be the only way Erin will cooperate, he had no choice.

(poor Ethan)
Ethan tilted his head back. As much as he wanted to call out for Erin to cone help he refused. He'd rather die at this point than be bed ridden for months on end while he recovered, if he ever did. "It's okay" he said quietly to Erin with a slight nod, his eyes were watering at this point. He was scared to die. But it's not like it would matter, the only person that had ever cared for him was Erin, who he felt he was a burden to. (If Elliot kills Ethan their father could react bad to this, and probably do something to Elliot)
Erin stood, he was crying, but not enough for either of the two to notice. But he couldn't give up, Ethan would understand righf? He did just tell him to go with the job. He cleared his throat and made sure he was ready for a fight, he wasn't giving Alice up to them. Not that easy. He gripped the handle of his own blade tightly, he didn't want to have to go through with this but it was more than clear that he would need to.

They were stupid, no question about it. He was going to sacrifice his own flesh and blood for a girl that he would be just fine without. If not, better off. Elliot said nothing for a while, and did nothing for a little while, besides hold the blade at Ethan's neck. Elliot, seemingly calmly removed his blade from Ethan's neck, almost in surrender. "This is on you." He growled suddenly, and in a flash, slashed his sword across Ethan's abdomen, his entrails coming out of the cut. And then just as quickly he slashed the sword across Ethan's neck, slitting his throat, leaving him to try and breathe through the blood pouring out of his body. Elliot whistled promptly and at least ten men appeared from the surrounding undergrowth. Three of them went to Erin, holding him against the house, and fixated his head to look at his dying brother. The other seven went inside the house to search for the main reason they came here in the first place.

Ethan let out a loud scream at the first strike, he wasn't alive much longer after that. The blood loss happened so quickly and then it was over. Erin didn't say anything while it happened, he knew there wasn't anything he could do at this point but try his best to keep them away from Alice, he was going to turn and go inside to tell Alice they needed to leave, but was cut off when he was thrown against the side of the house and held there, he was stripped of his blade quickly and had no way of getting out, he was cornered. He cursed under his breath before hiding his face, he was ashamed of himself for letting his younger die, he'd promised when they were younger that they would do anything for each other. But he hadn't thought it would come to this. All he could think about were the long evenings he had spent taking care of Ethan, all of that was over now. He didn't know why he let all of this happen but he knew that Ethan was in a better place now, anything would be better than living the life they led, even death.

A soon as they had found Alice two of the men had grabbed her. One held her hands behind her back, and the other had a tight grip on her hair, keeping her head up. She squirmed, but it was in vain. The other men left the house one by one, and she noticed that each one nodded to the man who appeared to be leading this. She was the last one to leave the house with the men holding onto her. She saw a body, soaked in blood by the largest man, and because of all the blood, it was nearly impossible to tell who it was. But soon it became evident as to who was killed: Ethan. Her eyes were wide with horror, and soon tears began to come quietly from her eyes. "Ethan..." What has she done? She killed him, she heard his scream but like the coward she was, Alice stayed hidden, and didn't turn herself over to spare his life. Alice had killed Erin's brother.
Elliot studied Alice with a satisfying look in his eyes, and almost hunger or greed. She wasn't for him to take, but by the looks of her, she would most definitely be married to the leader. She would be worth even more that way, since the king of the neighboring kingdoms would want her away from the kidnappers even sooner than before. "Now look what you've done Erin. You've killed your brother, and now you've lost the princess. I hope the two of you weren't close, because she will definitely be a lot closer to someone else when we get back."

Erin watched, and snarled as he responded. "Don't think this is over. I'm gonna find you, don't think I wont." He was furious, she was all he had left and now she was going to be taken, he didn't care who he had to go through but he knew he'd get her back, he needed to. Not just for himself, but for Ethan. He died for this cause and he refused to let his death be in vain. For a moment Erin fell silent, before he was let go as the men left. He wanted to get at Elliot, but there was far too many of them still around and it would be pointless for him to try and fight them all of, no matter how well he could fight "I'm going to save you Alice, they can't hurt you, so don't worry. They clearly think of you as someone they need" he said before his gaze went down to his brother, he wasn't sure what to do at this point. His life had been falling apart in front of him

{wow this got dark. But I like it lol. So I was thinking we skip to like the night or something and Erin, not knowing what to do with his life right now is out drinking. Or, if he's decided to go looking for her now, we'll think of some other way he can meet with the former bandit
As for Alice we can have her arrive at another outpost and see the leader since the actual base is too far away now, and would probably get to it the next day}

(Yeah he'd probably end up out drinking, that works for me. Or when he's dealing with his dead brothers body we could have the other guy be casually strolling along and see him mourning over his body and ask what's going on? And the whole Alice situation I'll let you decide on, whatever works for you works for me.)

I like both ideas for Erin, but as they say 'a drunk man's words, are a sober man's thoughts' so he would probably spill more information to the guy, but whatever you want to do
And I like the idea with Alice cuz I got nothing else haha
Could you start? I have to work on something for a friend really quick}

(For sure for sure ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/6575102/images/lNtnPuxeCzkaKMNYVXVv.gif) if the guy finds Erin with the body he can offer him a drink and they can go out and drink more? Erin wouldn't say no.) As soon as they had left eith Alice, he went straight to his youngers body. He was scared now, and his thoughts weren't proper in any way. He didn't care for the blood, he sat holding the now lifeless body in his arms, crying as he did. The whole day would be a mess for him, they had no family around, so he'd have to hold a funeral on his own for Ethan. He couldn't even conprehend how that would go, nor did he want to think about it. He sat crying for what felt like hours, he didn't want to let go. He was in full denial at this point. There was no use in hiding his emotions or trying to go after Alice just yet, he didn't know where they were going or how far gone they'd gotten at this point

it was interesting where a few drinks could take a guy, which was how Alden found himself walking through the woods with a mug of ale in his hand. Alden wasn't drunk though, if one had been drinking for as many years as he has, you wouldn't get drunk very easily either. He was more...woozy. Yeah, woozy was the word for it. Well at least he thought he was only woozy, seeing a man holding the bloodied body of a child made him think otherwise. But it was all too real to be a hallucination. Alden pulled out his sword, the one he had been using since he was about 16 and started to approach the man. "You there!" He called, trying to get his attention.
{Want me to do a start for Alice or wait?}

(Yeah a start for Alice would be nice, I'm still trying to figure out how their dad is going to be like)
Erin wasn't done crying, yet he heard someone call out to him. He wasn't sure what he should do. He just sat there, tears streaming down his face, blood all over his clothes and skin. "Not now" he replied, it was clear he didn't want to talk, but he also didn't want to be alone. He missed Alice already, he wanted to be close to her again but he knew she was getting further from him as the time passed. He needed to find her but didn't have a clue how he could.

In Alden's 45 years of being alive, he can't say he's seen anything like this. But then again, it was dark out, he was drinking, and the shadows might distort things. Perhaps he was holding an animal? "I'm afraid I can't leave you be without answers friend. What do you have there?" His voice was level, as if he was actually trying to have a conversation with the man, who judging by the sound of his voice, was still relatively young. He moved forward towards him slowly, as to not frighten him or cause him to strike with a hidden weapon.
--
It had been a long day of traveling for Alice, but could tell her captors were used to it as they hardly looked tired as they moved along. For the first long while, it was by foot that they traveled, but it became evident they had more men waiting on them with horses as they had acquired the beasts. Her hands were bound, and Alice had to lean against one of the men to keep herself from falling. She hated every moment of it. However, she was soon taken down from the horse and was lead to a clearing in the woods, where they seemed to have not a house, nor a fortress, but a building where they seemed to be hiding out in for the time being. Alice was brought up to the second level of the house and lead to a room where she was told to wait until the leader could come in and speak with her.

(Considering Alden was a bandit, will he know Erins father?)
Erin sat silent for a few moments, hesitant to answer. He looked up at the man and could tell he'd been drinking. The smell was noticable even from that far away. "It's my dead brothers f****** body. Is that what you wanted to hear?!" He was furious, not at Alden, but at himself. He could have easily let the men from earlier take Alice and Ethan would still be alive. But he hadn't, that would easily haunt him for the rest of his life, however long that may be.
----
As Astral heard of Alice's arival, he made his way into the room. His looks were almost similar to Erins, but not noticable enough to question if they'd been family. As he entered the room he gave a devilish smile as he saw Alice. She was to make him an even richer man than he already was, and that's all he'd wanted with her. He had no care for her wellbeing or how she felt about the scenario at all. "I trust my men kept you well along the journey" he stated as he sat across from the young lady, the smile still across his face. "How's Erin?" He asked after a moment of silence, he still wanted to know how they'd been, it had been years since he'd saw either of the two but held off on asking about Ethan for the time being. He figured asking about one after the other would be easier to explain

{Yeah he would} Alden flinched at the boy's words, he was obviously distressed, but couldn't blame him for feeling that way. According to him, his brother was dead. And family was everything, Alden knew that well. "Calm down son." He told him, knowing perfectly well that the boy wasn't his son. Alden looked down at the child in his arms, sadness giving his eyes a glazed look. He was a bloodied mess though, meaning the death wasn't natural. "What's your name?" He asked quietly, trying to keep the boy calm and to keep him from lashing out.
--
Alice looked at the presumed leader warily, and crossed her arms over her chest, almost in a protective manner for herself. She narrowed her eyes at him when he asked about Erin. How dare he ask about him as if he was concerned about his wellbeing? "Why do you care?" She asked in an almost disbelieving voice, her brows were upturned showing how upset she had felt on the inside. In fact, she looked more crushed than she did angry, and she hated to look so weak in front of this evil man. But Alice didn't know how to help it.

Erins didn't feel the need to tell this man his name but he did anyway, he seemed to be a genuine man. "My name's Erin" he said quietly between a fee very shaky breaths. He looked over to the man again before going back to Ethan. He didn't know what to do anymore, he'd lost everything so quickly that things felt surreal.
---
"Well he is my son, afterall" Astral stated in a more calm tone of voice, he understood she had no reason to talk to him, and wouldn't blame her if she refused to. Regardless of her talking or not she was under his control at this point. "Now how is he? I'd like to know." He questioned once more before sitting more straight up.
(This is short sorry I'm doing a bit of homework)

"Erin huh?" He didn't need the boy - no, Erin - to confirm it even if he asked it like it was a question. "May I asked how he died?" Alden implied the limp, battered boy in Erin's arms. He didn't need any long explanation, he just needed to know was he murdered or if something else had happened. There would be time to talk about the events later. This boy looked like he needed to talk to someone, even if that someone was a man as broken as Alden. Though he may not look the part, Alden hasn't had it easy either. Not at all.
--
Erin was...his son? How was that possible? She didn't need that talk, but it seemed so surreal. Oh Erin, what have you been through? Alice thought to herself, as if she was expecting an answer from Erin telepathically. She wasn't sure what to tell his father though: either something to try and make him pity his son, or say something that made him sound strong. "He..." Her voice shook as she held back tears. It would only fuel the man. "He's changed I'm sure." She choked out. She assumed Erin's changed anyway, from some of things he had told her.
{Don't worry about it }

Hearing the question Erin began to cry even harder. He didn't want to say it, the thought still hurt him, but he couldn't just keep silent and not answer. "He was.... bad men killed him." He said his voice still very shaky and unclear. He couldn't handle this, he wanted his brother back, but he couldn't do anything about it anymore.
---
Astral nodded, "I would believe so. It's been some time since I've last seem him. And how is Ethan? I assume he's well if he's still under Erins care" he was so very, very wrong. But he had no clue about his sons death, how could he? Elliot wouldn't have told that he killed his leaders son that would be foolish and a death wish. As much as Astral didn't care to be around them it was still his own flesh and blood.

Alden assumed so, he crouched down next to Erin and his lifeless brother's body. "I know you don't know me very well, but I would like to help. Whether that means help you bury him, help you clean up, to talk with you, or all of the above. I've been there too." He said quietly, gently. He had lost people before, and now - excluding friends - Alden was alone because of it. Death was a relative of his. Apparently it was a few relatives of Alden's.
--
At the mention of Ethan, Alice had to let out a few tears. She wiped them away promptly however. She ran her hands through her hair, not a organize it, but out of stress. She bit her lip until she began to taste blood to keep herself from sobbing uncontrollably. "He's gone..." she whimpered, but did not explain what 'gone' meant. Surely he got the message.

Erin nodded a few times, "thank you, I'd like to bury him." He stated shakily. He was scared to let go of his brother, physically and emotionally. But he needed to let go, it was too late for him, he was gone. He got up from his seated position and took a good look at the man "and what is your name?" He asked after a moment
----
Astral began to become chocked up himself, though no tears came across his face and he remained emotionless. "I see" he said quietly, clearly the girl must have become close to his two kids, why else would she cry about it? "Do you... do you know what had happened to him?" He asked after pausing to recollect his thoughts. He didn't really want to ask, but he needed to know.

{Why does Alden remind me of Herchel from TWD?} Alden could help with that. Well, he could help the poor boy with anything he may have needed. He nodded silently at his request, it would be like a small funeral really. And although he had just met and said goodbye to the deceased brother, he would speak, if the alcohol hadn't hit him yet anyway. "I'm Alden. Alden Fletcher." He introduced himself. It was definitely odd to be meeting another person because of death. Apparently Death was Alden's friend too.
--
Alice shouldn't be crying in front of this man, their father. But it was hard not to when all she could think of were Erin and Ethan. "It was my fault..." Alice choked out, obviously not knowing how that would come across to the man. But as far as Alice knew, it was her fault. Every blow Ethan had endured, every tear from the pain, and drop of blood taken in by the earth, it was her fault. It was Alice's cowardly fault.

(I can see it now that you mention it xD)
"Thank you, Alden. I appreciate your willingness to help" he said with a nod, he wasn't sure how long it would take for the two to burt his brother, but he wanted it to be done properly. He'd not be able to sleep until then. "If you'd like to know what happened" he began hesitantly "some gamg or bandits came looking for this girl, Alice. She's the princess of the nearby kingdom. I've done bad, I must admitt, as I had to kidnap her, but we became very close. But these people that came for her, they killed my brother trying to make me hand her over... he told me not to, my brother. His name was Ethan. He said things would be okay but now that's he's gone I can't help but feel lost. Like nothings going to be okay anymore. These two people, my brother and Alice, are all I've had and now they... they..." he cut himself off, he was crying rivers at this point. He didn't know what he was going to do anymore and he didn't care what Alden might think he just needed to get it all out
---
Astral's face began to show more emotion, hearing that Alice had claimed his boys death was her fault. But he knew it couldn't be, if anything it was his own. He had sent his men to retrieve her and that was fact. Knowing it must have been one of his own men he stood and made his way back towards the door. "Who was it, that killed him?" He asked, but didn't look at the girl, he never showed emotion, so he was trying to hide his face from all those around him at this point.
