"I'm Misty. Misty Falls." Misty floated in a circle around the dragon boy, a childlike grin splayed across her face. Her eyes glinted humorously. "I'm a mist ghost."
Delilah folded her arms across her chest. She still felt a slight sense of annoyance, but by now, it was mostly overshadowed by curiosity. She said nothing.

Chase blinked. A mist ghost? He hadn't heard of one of them before and he want a lot of places. Though, perhaps she was an anomaly, or came from somewhere he couldn't go. "I mean no disrespect, but are you...dead, or were you always like this?" He asked her, still annoyed she was annoying them, but also mildly curious.

At that question, Misty sat. Only she didn't, really. The seemingly young ghost hovered in midair, her legs crossed. "I was actually drowned." She grinned, as if the matter was a casual one. The ghost seemed to be very proud of it, as well. A mischievous, evil grin found its way onto her face, and she hovered closer to Chase. "My father was a psychopath." She began to tell the story with ease. "I didn't know it until it was too late. Growing up, he would always brush me off. Finally, one cold, rainy night, I woke up over his shoulder, still in my night gown. He was whistling a tune that went something like this." She cleared her throat, and hummed a verse of Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star. "I was too sleepy to see it coming. But he carried me down the hallway, and I could hear the bath water running. We had an old claw-foot, white tub. He set me down, and I asked him, 'Daddy, what are you doing?' He wouldn't answer me, just tied my hands together with some duct tape while I started to cry. And then, before I knew it, SWOOSH!" She suddenly flipped, and when she was upright again, she stood inches from Chase's face. "I felt the water. I struggled, and coughed, and sputtered, but there was no escape." Her voice became scared, horrified, even. "I felt the bubbles, and--and then I felt his hands around my neck." She fell back dramatically. "And then," a small sob, "and then I lost consciousness." Her hand flung itself over her forehead, and she wailed, small watery tears rolling down her cheeks and dripping onto the ground below.
Delilah seemed somewhat horrified at this story. She glanced to Chase to gauge his reaction, but remained silent for a moment. Then, she tilted her head and gave the slightest hint of a smirk. "No disrespect, but I thought ghosts wear the clothes they died in. You're not wearing a nightgown. That's a dress."

Chase looked mortified by what she had told her them. That was...monstrous! He would usually have put a hand on her shoulder but...he couldn't really. "I-I'm so sorry, you shouldn't have gone through that." He said, trying to comfort her. "I shouldn't have asked." He then said, mostly to himself. He knew it wasn't a good idea but he didn't expect her to tell them her whole death.

"The sorrow! The agony!" Misty turned her back, and covered her face as she sobbed dramatically into her pale, misty hands; she seemed too upset to even acknowledge Delilah's comment. If either Chase or Delilah had seen her face, though, they would have noticed that the ghost was smirking.
Delilah shot Chase a doubtful glance. Although the girl was empathetic to the plights of others, she somehow felt there was more to Misty's story than the ghost girl was letting on. Or, perhaps less, even. This was partly due to the fact that she was still too irritated to trust her completely, and also partly due to the fact that the girl was acting dramatically.

(Sorry I haven't been on, guys! DX I fell asleep the night before, and would have been back today, but I've been too sleepy. You can thank Qtip for waking me up with FB message notifications, heheheh)
Catori rolled back onto her feet, crouched down and sprung at Kiba again with her jaws open. Though the move appeared ferocious, her tail was wagging almost the entire time.
Peter slowly broke out into a huge grin, "That would be so neat! I'd love to! Can we cut him now?" He asked with a rather creepy grin, eager to see the manticore's 'inner workings'.
The puppy made a soft mewing sound in response, blinking her eyes sleepily as she was petted.

Alfonse gave a laugh, a gesture which was, in truth, relatively rare. He was actually sleepy, truth be told, but Peter's excitement rejuvenated him, and Alfonse knew the air wasn't cold enough to preserve the beast's body forever. He relented. "I suppose. Let's head back and retrieve the proper tools."
"That's who you'll be." Ferra smiled as she watched the puppy doze. "My little Aura Afonas." She laid with the puppy, intending to stay with her only until she fell asleep, and then to go tell Aurora of the newest resident. However, Ferra quickly found herself dozing, and although she tried several times to shake herself awake, she had no luck. Before long, she was curled up beside the pup, her arm loosely over Aura's shoulder.

Before Alfonse fully got the words out of his mouth, Peter was already racing back to the castle, like an overly hyperactive puppy. In fact, he was so excited that he barely noticed his feet coming momentarily off the ground every few strides. So from a distance, it almost looked like he was running on the moon. (Hey! Ouch! Stop that!)
Once Ferra was asleep, the puppy - who now had a new name - wriggled out from beneath her arm. After a squeaky yawn, the pup turned and repositioned against Ferra, snuggling up as closely as she was able to. Her lids became heavy again, and within minutes, little Aura was fast asleep.
(night Q :3 I probably won't be long behind you. Curse this overbearing sleepiness >.<)

Chase saw the gaze Del gave him and had to agree. He was actually sort of believing the girl until now. Who says 'the pain! The agony!' Really? She seemed to be acting a little over dramatic to be serious, but he was willing to give her the benefit of the doubt. Taking it all with a grain of salt though, cause it was still not very believable. Honestly he kind of just stood there, not sure what to say to the wailing ghost girl to comfort her.

Alfonse gave a playfully-disapproving shake of his head and followed along at a more dignified pace. The scientist wondered, as he walked, about Peter's home. The distant continent of Arcania had invaded his thoughts quite a bit as of late, and, although he hadn't said much to Peter concerning the matter, he had considered the possibility of returning. Alfonse hated his selfishness at times. It was a trait he had likely developed as the result of growing up an only child in a wealthy family. He typically brushed away any second thoughts he had about selfish decisions; Alfonse wasn't one to dwell on them. Truthfully, he had grown attached to those at the castle in the short time he had been there, though. Throughout his life, his adopted parents had given him everything he could ever want-- except for their attention, and love. Alfonse hadn't a single true friend his whole life, unless the many lab rats who had served as his subjects could be considered friends. Living at the castle was such a nice change of pace that he had almost truly forgotten what it was like to be lonely. And so, as a result of his attachment, Alfonse Ferdinand was feeling, possibly for the first time in his life, an exceptionally strong sense of regret at what he was about to do. Psychological manipulation was a favorite pastime of Alfonse's, but in this situation, it really felt more as if he were cheating on a very important test, one of which he should already know the answers.
The misty ghost finally turned to them and sniffed, any traces of amusement gone from her face. Her eyes seemed genuinely sad. "I should go, I'm sorry for my outburst." Heh, got'em. Couple of suckers. Just below the surface, Misty felt thoroughly amused with the looks a of confusion and pity staring back at her.
Delilah frowned, and although she didn't fully believe the girl's story, she felt a small pang of pity. What if she really was telling the truth? She hated feeling uncertain of situations, and she was relatively certain that if the ghost was lying, that was precisely her intention.

It was when he abruptly reached the castle that it finally dawned on Peter. Where were these 'proper tools'? He supposed he would have to wait until Alfonse caught up, and then he could ask him. In the meantime, his thoughts traveled hundreds of miles back to his home. He wondered what his brother was up to lately. Peter hoped he — along with his parents, and his cat — were doing alright.
(Hmm... Maybe Peter and Alfonse can make a quick trip to the kitchen for extra knives, and have a run-in with Pandora and Bell? :3)

(Here! Sure thing Moon!)
Chase was irritated. Usually confusion wasn't something that happened to him, but he had no idea if she was lying or being truthful. The crying he was nearly certain was fake, the story though he wasn't so sure. Humanity is so cruel it wasn't hard to believe her father would do that to her. Regardless of his feelings, he stayed pitiful, just in case she was honest. "No need to apologize young one." He said softly to her.

After some time, Alfonse poked his head through the last bit of foliage and scanned the area. The rest of his lanky body followed suit, and he made his way over to Peter. "You're a bit overdue in your decision to wait for me, I'm afraid." His voice had returned to its normal apathetic tone, but his eyes still held the slightest hint of a playful twinkle.
Misty would have kept up the charade forever, had she wanted to evoke true pity from her victims. But, having seen the initial reaction, she made the decision to leave it at that. Without accepting Chase's reassurance, she shook her head and sniffed once more, then floated away into the forest without another word. Once there, she circled around, and returned to the castle in search of more victims.
Delilah frowned. "Speaking of odd residents..."

Peter shrugged with a light smirk, "Where are you going to get the tools? Are you planning to stop by the kitchen, or...?" He thought about offering his laser, but he wasn't all that comfortable using it. Lasers, for all of their usefulness, made the boy extremely nervous. He'd once seen what sort of damage they were capable of inflicting, and he was not particularly willing to revisit that. (They should go in the kitchen ) After a nice long nap, Aura was beginning to stir. Several tiny squeaks left her mouth as she yawned numerous times.

(It doesn't say it while you're actually on mobile, just when you're on a computer, from my understanding at least. c: )
Alfonse gave a shrug. "Perhaps there, or the infirmary. The use of kitchen knives in dissection is likely rudimentary at best. Even so, it would be wise to drop by and perform an inventory check." As he walked through the castle, he turned into the kitchen. There, he spotted the creepy little girl from earlier, and another individual whom he hadn't yet been acquainted with. He pretended not to see either of them, however, and instead made his way over to one corner and began searching for anything which might prove useful in his endeavor.

Peter closely followed after Alfonse, eager to retrieve the needed supplies and begin the dissecting. He'd studied similar subjects while in school, but they'd never actually conducted it on real animals. It was all simulated through holograms. Even the meat they ate in Arcania was imitation. Peter hadn't realized just how artificial everything in his life had been before coming here. He missed it, but part of him was happy for a change of pace. Peter followed Alfonse into the kitchen, stopping short at seeing Pandora.
Pandora greeted Peter with a smile before turning to Alfonse, "What-cha do-ing?" She asked sweetly.

Alfonse bit back a sarcastic remark, and shot Peter a silencing stare. "We-- I," he cleared his throat, "an searching for tools which may be utilized for the purpose of scientific research on the durability of tree bark in your world." Alfonse lied smoothly, with no indication that he was actually searching for tools to dissect a dead manticore with. "I will, after such experimentation has occurred, record my findings and store them away. Trees are really such interesting organisms. Did you know it has been proven that plants can actually hear when they're being eaten? And that trees actually communicate?" He hoped the talk would bore her, so he could resume his search.

Pandora scoffed, "Yeah, right. I can tell when someone's lying." She shot Peter a look, and the boy crept backwards. Something about her made him feel very uneasy. Pandora continued, "So, what are you really doing? Didja kill anybody? Are you looking for something to cut 'em up with, so you can bury the pieces in separate locations?" The gleeful gleam in her eyes resembled that of a child asking about their birthday presents.
Peter couldn't help himself. He shuddered. The child's smiling expression reminded him of a killer.

Alfonse rolled his eyes, and folded his arms over his chest. He was usually good at lying, but the creepy demon child's clairvoyance was of little surprise to him. "There's a dead manticore in the forest. Peter and I are searching for tools in order to dissect it, for scientific purposes. No, you may not come along. Little girls shouldn't act so undignified." He sneered.

Pandora took the insult in stride, not appearing the least bothered by it. She'd heard a lot worse before, "Did you say a dead manticore? How the heck did it die?" She was more bothered by the prospect of such a ferocious beast dying. If the numbskull had found a way of destroying monsters, then it might possibly spell disaster for herself.
It was Peter's turn to smirk, but he kept his mouth shut. He'd let Alfonse handle this one.
