(It's ok Peach ^.^ hope you feel better)
Marcy turned in time to see something quite large crashing through the forest after them. The beast remained shrouded in shadows and its form was still indistinct as it fought the brush to close the distance between it and its intended prey. Another horn-like wail rose into the night like an eerie siren. The teen girl's eyes went wide and she uttered a very faint gasp. Without a second thought, she grabbed hold of one of the boy's arms and took off running again, attempting to pull him along too.
Aurora smiled and nodded, "Yeah, I guess you do."

Kiba smiled and then jumped onto Aurora and said," Oh thank you miss you have no idea how much this means to me." Kiba then nuzzled Aurora to show his affection.

The male made an 'oof' like noise as he was grabbed, looking behind him at the thing chasing them with a blank look on his face. He wasn't really surprised about something that big chasing them. It was like out of a horror movie. "Make sure you dont trip over nothing!" He shouted at her, running right beside her with his stark white wings tucked on his back. She could ask him to fly them out of there, and boy would he try, but he would probably fail and cause them to lose time and be closer to the monster. It'd provably be best to run; He looked back the thing and squinted a bit, he could barely see it. God, he hated being practically blind. He held her hand as they ran, because of his blindness. He didn't wanna trip and fall, himself.

Aurora was startled by Kiba's sudden display of affection, but she laughed and scratched him behind the ears.
Catori's ears twitched and she made an odd sound, as though envious of Kiba receiving the attention.
Aurora glanced in Catori's direction, then called her over so that she could pet both of them at the same time.
Marcy nodded but didn't say anything. There was a whizzing sound as something sharp flew past them, and a dull thud as it embedded itself in a tree. It was a black quill, similar in shape to a porcupine's, only much larger. Several more quills whizzed towards them, but right before they hit their mark, the sharp projectiles seemed to hit an invisible wall and bounced off harmlessly. Marcy continued running as quickly as she could, and didn't appear to notice as the deadly quills continued to mysteriously deflect away. The beast let out another trumpet-like cry as it gained ground against the two. The clearing lay around fifty feet ahead, and although the monster was another hundred feet behind, it was closing in fast. (If you can correctly guess the monster's species, you win the internet.)

[[ Uuhh.... Gigantic freaking porcupine? (': probably not lolll ]]
Klai tripped over a branch and squeaked as he almost fell, but caught himself. God how he hated being practically blind. It was very unfortunate in these kinds of situations to be blind. Because all he saw was blobs flying by his surrounding vision, and he didn't even know what the girl who was dragging him along looked like. But hey, at least she was helping him so his blind self wouldn't get lost and killed. He flinched some when the Quills started being fired at them, and blinked when they bounced off an invisible wall, very confused Klai is very confused. He shook his eyes and kept running, trying to keep up with her, starting to pant, and shiver from running so much.

(Hahaha! Good guess, but nope. Porcupines can't launch their quills, fortunately. This beast is really, really bad news.)
The cold night air stung Marcy's eyes and throat as she ran, and she began to cough and wheeze. The beast was nearly upon the teenagers now and unleashed another hair-raising sound that resembled a cross between an angry grizzly and a horn. It swiped at their backs, but right before the claws made contact, Marcy suddenly tripped and fell forward into open space, possibly dragging down Klai with her. The beast leaped forward only to smash straight into some invisible barrier. With a roar loud enough to wake the dead, the lion-like monster clawed and tore at the magical obstruction, occasionally stinging at it with its giant scorpion tail. With each strike, waves of bright blue energy radiated outwards like ripples in a pond, but the beast could not intercept it.

[[ loolll idk man I'm sorry I'm too tired to think about a species of monster right now xD ]]
Klai kept running with the girl he had just been dragged through the forest with, being chased by an unknown monster who was launching quills at them. What a wonderful start of the day this was, Right? When she fell and tripped he went right with her and fell with a pained noise onto his wings, immediately turning over onto his back and hiding his face in the ground, in obvious pain from falling onto his wing wrong. "Ow ow ow- fr-reaking ow-!"

(heheheh, totally understandable. This beasty is called a manticore. One of the worst monsters there is.)
Marcy fell on her face and rolled. Her expression was that of pain and shock, but no words came out of her mouth. She quickly sat up and gaped at the monster, noting how it appeared to be stuck on the other side of a shield. Her expression subtly switched from that of horror, to a look of total confusion. You could practically see the question mark hanging in the air above her head. The manticore seemed to realize the effort was futile and began to pace around the exterior of the magical border. Its face was vaguely like that of a human, but twisted and horrible to look at. There appeared to be numerous rows of sharp teeth in its mouth, and the body resembled that of a very large, red-furred lion. The creature was also armed with a large, scorpion-like tail. In addition to the standard sting on the end, the tail sported long quills along its length. Apparently, the creature could launch them like arrows. They looked sharp and poisonous, and Marcy shuddered to think of what sort of damage they might have done.

[[ OKAY IT IS TIME FOR ME TO SLEEP ;3; ]]
Klai sat up and rubbed his face, flinching, one of his wings were laying limp while the other was tucked against his back. He certainly had done something bad to his wing, for sure. He looked over at the female and blinked a bit at her, tipping his head and looking her up and down. He didn't seem at all interested in the monster behind the border. "...Why did you drag me with you?" He asked. He was merely curious, he was glad she did it, but he wanted to know why. He often asked silly questions like this, simply because he was very curious.

(Okay, night ^^)
Without turning away from the monster, Marcy shrugged in response. She thought the question was a little silly, as she believed most people would have handled the situation in the same or similar way. It would have been cruel not to, she thought. But of course, she couldn't tell Klai any of this. So her only response was to shrug. Not an 'I don't know' shrug, but more of a 'it was nothing' kind of gesture.
Outside of the clearing, the manticore made a low, crooning type sound as it continued to pace along the exterior. It was very patient, and had no intentions of leaving for the rest of the night. The scent of human prey was simply irresistible to the beast.

(((quoting for gamergirl09 and Hawkeyes258 for next time you're both on ^_^))) Pandora gave a swift kick to a random wall and growled. She was still no closer to finding the illusive weapons armory. She was sure there had to be one around somewhere. Didn't all castles have them? Mumbling to herself, she decided to have another look around the kitchen. Most kitchens had knives, right?

(I'll be leaving in an hour to go grocery shopping, but I may check in with my mom's phone.
Also, I needed for one of the other characters - preferably one that knows Aurora well - to see the monster unable to get in the clearing and mention the shield. This is important for my next plot. Otherwise, I'll just have my new character ask her about it. Somehow. Hmm... It's gonna be interesting role-playing a person who can't talk. >:3)

As it were, Alfonse happened to be observing some sort of plant at the clearing's edge when the manticore's meals entered the clearing. At the sound of the monster, Alfonse whirled around, and through the darkness, he first caught sight of the horrible creature, and then of the two teenagers. The two of them looked to have been fleeing the beast, and were thoroughly exhausted. Alfonse stood in shock for a moment, and then, after having realized the monster could come no further, he began to make his way over to the two, straightening his sports coat as he did so. Without speaking to what he assumed would be the castle's newest inhabitants, he placed his hands on his bony hips and cocked his head at the manticore, admiring its ferocious stature.

Aurora felt saddened by Kiba's words, "Well, maybe you'll be happier now. No one will hurt you here." She promised. (Bai Cloud! You didn't really miss much. There hasn't been much RP'ing the past couple of days.) Peter nodded exuberantly, "Alright, follow me! I think I just seen her go outside." With his hyperactivity returning, he bounced around Mason and headed around the corner towards the castle door. (Heheh, nice c: It's gonna be hard for the two characters to communicate, so this should be interesting. XD Maybe she can come across him when she sees the creature, and grab his arm and pull him along with her?) (Here again!) Mason whipped his head around to watch the boy as he ran off. With a deep breath, he shoved his hands deep into his jeans pockets and started after him. He fiddled with a small round object in his pocket. It was his ring. When he realised what it was, he immediately pulled out his hand and put it in his jacket pocket instead.

(The trip got postponed for another hour, so I'll be on a while longer ) The manticore turned its shaggy head in Alfonse's direction, blue-gray eyes studying him closely. Without warning, the scorpion tail's stinger came down lightning fast. But yet again, it was firmly met with resistance as more bright blue energy rippled around it, fading quickly. The monster huffed through its nose and let out a low growl, hungry gaze fixed tightly upon the suited human. Peter led the way outside, looking around for Aurora. He hadn't yet noticed the beast.

"Magnificent..." Alfonse stood only inches from the creature, watching carefully. "There seems to be some barrier preventing it from crossing into the clearing. But why?" As he studied the creature. "Could it be due to its species? Or perhaps its intentions..." Without warning, he began waving his arms wildly in an attempt to gauge the creature's response.

The manticore hardly reacted at all to the movements. It continued to quietly glare at Alfonse, with a gaze that was maliciously bloodthirsty, and yet somehow intelligent at the same time. The scorpion tail would occasionally snap to and fro, not unlike a hungry cat stalking prey.
