Introduction ''Mother, tell me the story of how our Clan came to be.'' The kit, so small compared to the larger female cats who slept in the Nursery, looked up at her Mother, emerald green eyes gleaming with interest and anticipation - even though she'd heard the legend many times before. Of course she had. Each cat had been raised on the story, the tale of their ancestors ran through their veins. But still, even though she'd told the story countless times before, the Mother cat settled down in her nest. Her young daughter wouldn't sleep without her story, after all. Resting her delicate black and white head on her paws, the middle-aged she-cat began:
''Long ago, before I was born, before my own great grandparents were born, there lived a world unlike yours. A world full of Twolegs riding inside their Monsters, everywhere you looked. There were many Thunderpaths, and much danger. A small kit like you wouldn't last one quarter-moon out there alone. But cats did live there, older cats, and although times were tough, they survived. But it wasn't just wild cats, no, Kittypets were common in such a place, although usually you'd find them near the Twolegs. There were Poundcats, too - cats who were locked up in tiny cages before their transformation into a Kittypet, or to return to the life of a Kittypets. When I mention wild cats, you would probably assume I mean Clan cats, but no. These were strays, lone cats. You see, it wasn't the done thing to stay with other cats. They kept themselves to themselves and that was that. They sometimes even fought, sometimes killed one another for food or territory. Sometimes you'd come across a pair or trio of cats that stuck together, but it was rare. Yes, these were tough times, but cats could live.
That was, until the disaster occured. It came in the night, like a silent shadow of a cat, until it pounced upon the place the cats and Twolegs alike called home. The dens of the Twolegs were destroyed, the Monsters were either turned over or nothing but tiny pieces on the cold ground. In a few sunrises, most of the Twolegs were gone. After a half-moon, every single Twoleg had fled. Where they went...no cat knew. But what they did know, was that they'd left them behind. Twolegs had come, on Monsters that fly, and had taken their fellow species away. But did they even so much as glance towards the other creatures that suffered and starved? No. It is another perfect example of the cruelty of Twolegs. They are selfish, and only care for themselves, you see. They left, and so the cats, even their Kittypets, and their dogs, and all their other pets, were left behind and alone. Within a couple of sunrises it was a fight for survival - a brutal fight. Dogs tried to hunt the cats for food, and cats tried to survive alone, continuing their lonely lives like they always had. But it didn't take a genius to know that it was failing. The cats of the region would be wiped out if they continued in such a way. They needed to join together ... to be united against their predators in order to carry on living. So, slowly, some cats began to join together. They built a family, the building blocks of our Clan today. Eventually, in moons, they even made a home in such a place of death and destruction. Death still surrounded them, but they were winning. They were strong. And to this day, although we have moved around to other places throughout our time, we are still as powerful as ever.'' Welcome! I'm so sorry about the long read above. I'd be grateful if you TRIED to read it, but I understand if you don't want to...I wouldn't. I'll sum things up, in Twoleg terminology:
Cats have struggled living in the city, fighting for scraps of food and shelter.

About the Roleplay Welcome! I'm sorry about the long read above. Please TRY to read it, even if it is a bore. I wouldn't want to read it myself. I understand if it's a bit confusing, but I'll sum things up in Twoleg terminology:
The cats have been living in the city for as long as anyone can remember. Of course, there are strays roaming every city. Although, this one more than most. They have been fighting for scraps of food and shelter, but they like it there. It's safe. It's home. That is, until a natural disaster - an earthquake - hits the city, and destroys everything in its path. As a result, the surviving humans leave, and aren't allowed to bring pets or any animal with them. Therefore, Kittypets, Poundcats and Strays alike have to fight for survival - or risk starvation. The dogs are also starving, and will do anything for food, creating dangerous predators. The cats must join together in order to survive, and some are more willing to do so than others.
There you have it! I hope you would like to join. If you do, there are a few more things to read through first.
xx current season xx Newleaf/Spring [] Greenleaf/Summer [] Leaf-fall/Autumn [X] Leafbare/Winter []
xx prey xx The types of prey found varies. Common prey includes city birds such as doves and pigeons, and also rodents such as rats and mice. However, small birds and sometimes even rabbits are found in The Woodland. Although scraps are the main food source of many cats, who don't bother with hunting. xx predators xx The main predators are Dogs and Foxes, although in such times other cats can also be a threat.

Rules Rules are something I insist you read in order to join. I know they can be tedious, but they are important.
- Do not spam ;; The only spam acceptable is to summon someone to another thread. Otherwise it is not tolerated. - Try to be active ;; I know that school is a thing, and school is more important, but please try to post here at least 3-4 times a week. I know for some it's hard, but I'm sure you can sneak in a reply here and there throughout your week. If you can't keep up with this, then please refrain from joining, unless you know you can be more active in the future. Also, if you are going to be inactive for a while for whatever reasons, please tell me so I don't accidently delete you. - Be advanced ;; This is an advanced roleplay. I will not accept replies that are only 1-4 lines long, I'm afraid. I prefer advanced roleplays, which means I like to roleplay with people who put in the effort. You don't need years of experience, you don't need to be an amazing writer, but you need to PUT IN THE EFFORT. If you find it hard, then I accept that, but it's easy to tell when people just can't be bothered. Be as detailed as possible, please. In the joining form you will need to fill out a roleplay example for me. - Make your characters realistic ;; I know that cats studying religions and cats that talk isn't realistic, but we need a level of realism here. No pink cats with wings, please. This includes perfect characters too. No one is perfect, so your character can't be, I'm afraid. - Be patient ;; People have busy schedules. Don't spam their notifications constantly. Give it a day or two before annoying them again. - Keep it PG ;; this includes violence, romance, kitting or anything that could potentially be taken over PG. I won't hesitate to call you out on ANYTHING over PG that you post. - Plots must be discussed beforehand ;; Don't start a plot without my permission. Talk to me about it first, please. - Romances and friendships need to be developed ;; I've been seeing undeveloped romances and friendships far too much lately. Don't bring your cat over and make them instantly crush on another's character. Things take time. - Be respectful/nice ;; If you're going to be a mean person, then don't join. Don't start arguments here, or I'll just ignore you. Also, be accepting. If you don't agree with someone's religious or political beliefs, then keep it to yourself. Be accepting of sexuality, also. - No mention of any controversial topics ;; If you want to find that, go to OTD. Don't bring up politics or any topics like it, because I don't want a fight starting here. - Have fun ;; This is important. Roleplays are meant to have fun!

The City The city is slightly smaller than most cities, yet of course it is still spacious. After the Earthquake, it is a place of destruction. Houses have been demolished and cars have been wrecked. It may not look habitable, but it is.
- The Great Monster ;; The Great Monster is a truck that wasn't completely wrecked in the disaster. It is overturned and the door has swung open. It is the perfect place to sleep for many cats, but there is usually a fight over who gets it. Some are wary to step inside.
- The Woodland ;; on the outskirts of the city is a woodland. Many of the trees have been uprooted, but this comes as an advantage. Many cats nestle inside the tree trunks through gaping holes. Especially those with kits they need to keep safe from predators. Further on in the woodland, there are trees still standing. Some cats try to ''claim'' this area as a territory, but no one listens - many fights take place here.
- The Thunderpath ;; This is the only road that has not been completely destroyed with jagged cracks running through it. It is seen as a place of danger, as dogs sometimes lurk there.
- The Heap ;; This is the largest heap of debri in the City. All bodies have long since been cleared by other Twolegs, but it is still an eerie place full of their demolished dens. Random items can be found here. Most stay away, however.

Plots The plots here are the plots we will complete chronologically over time. If you have any future plot suggestions, don't hesitate to tell me! I can add it here c: The first plots of the roleplay may take a while to complete, however.
1) after the earthquake and the loss of all Twolegs in the city, the cats must learn to survive in such a world, and to do that they must join together.
2) life is tough, even once the cats have united, and there is constant rivalry in the clan of who will be leading who. A hierarchy needs to be set, but the question is, who is to take the leading positions? It seems like endless fighting has destroyed this Clan, and they are at risk of splitting up. That is, until one cat (future Healer) speaks of a dream they have had, of a starry cat from a distant world, prophesising another as leader. Will the cats believe him/her, or will they think they're just picking favourites?
3) Now that a hierarchy is set out, and the cats know one another, the air is causing some cats to become sick. Dogs are also on the loose, and many deaths have been taking place. They need to find a new home, somewhere safer to raise future generations. But where?

Ranks (after plot 11) - Leader ;; This rank remains the same. The leader is, quite obviously, the main cat in charge. He/she has the right to control any other cat, and can control the whereabouts of the Clan. The Leader can also converse with the starry 'Spirits of the Sky' which help to guide them in the right direction. - Deputies ;; There are always two deputies, chosen by the Leader themselves. They must hold great respect towards their Leader, and if that is broken, the Leader may decide the consequences. Once the previous Leader dies or retires (132 moons) the two deputies fight until the other is on the ground. Deputies help the Leader in caring and controlling the Clan. They must also die for their Leader, often acting as a sort of barrier between the cat of the highest rank and danger. They carry out Leadership duties if he/she is not currently around or able to. - Guards ;; These cats guard the others. They protect the current territory, and will not hesitate to kill anyone who is not from the Clan. Guards are more experienced soldiers. There is only 4 guards. To be a guard a cat must have previously been a soldier. -Soldiers ;; These are often the strongest cats, and the bravest. They are prepared to lay down their lives for the others, and if they don't, they could suffer the consequences, which is usually banishment. They are the fighters - the ones who go out to attack the dens of predators or go in for the attack of other cats. They are often young, and must retire at 96 moons. They require a lot of training. -Hunters ;; Hunters are usually small, but swift. They must have quick reflexes and a sharp mind. These cats are the problem-solvers, the ones that can kill other animals swiftly and feed their Clan. The survival of the other cats relies on these cats most of all. Sometimes they do not get much recognition, not being strong, able fighters, but they help out just as well. Like their name suggests, Hunters are the cats that provide food for the Clan. This isn't just prey - they also scavenge and bring back Twoleg food often. Healers ;; Healers are cats who can most easily connect to the 'Spirits of the Sky.' They heal the sick and injured cats. There is one Healer. -Elite Trainees ;; There is no particular age where Trainees become Elites. They must have just passed their average Trainee training. Elites are Trainees who have chosen their path (Hunter, Soldier or Healer) and now require training in that area only. - Minor Trainees ;; Once a kitten is six moons, they become a Minor Trainee. They learn basic skills such as how to hunt and fight. - Mothers, Queens && Kits ;; There is a difference between Mothers and Queens. Queens are she cats who are constantly in the Nursery, and do not have another role in the Clan, whereas Mothers do. Kits are any cats under 6 moons of age. The Retired ;; Cats can retire as early as 96 moons, depending on their Clan role. However, most are 120 moons +.

Spirits of the Sky These cats are rather like StarClan, although they do not have as much involvement. They are the deceased cats of another life, who come inside the Healer and Leader's dreams and help them solve problems. However, there are strict rules, and only the Empress, a large she cat with a long white coat and piercing blue eyes, may dreamwalk, and tell the Leader and Healer any news. The Spirits do not have as much involvement as StarClan, and do not trespass on daily life, even if a beloved member has recently deceased. The cats must wait until it is their turn to join The Spirits.
