kinda? i'm actually not a fan of the book series anymore,, or its predecessor/technical sequel but i've always found the concept interesting and the victorian setting is always fun aaand i haven't gotten to roleplay something like it before, soo? shall we come up with something together? be warned i don't remember a whole lot of things tho, but that's what the wiki is for. ;v;b
i'm thinking i want this to be a 1 x 1 or a 1 x 2 if i'm feeling ambitious and people are interested? preferably semi-advanced/advanced roleplayers, meaning around 2-4 paragraphs, more if the muse is there. i won't be too picky activity-wise, perhaps just something once a week at the least? chatting in between (i love chatting,,,,)? because I know I won't be able to get something up everyday myself with school and work aND the fact that my internet usually likes to die on me at night. :I

[ hi yes. I would be interested. I too read the books a few years ago, didn't get through all of them before college. I can produce a good post or two throughout the week with nice paragraphs and a good 300-500+ words depending on my day/week and the time I have. And I too loved the concept of the infernal devices series and am a bit rusty. If you shall have me, what were you thinking plot-wise if you had any ideas? ]

hihi~ that all sounds good to me! ^v^ ahhh i don't really have any specific plot ideas atm asbgsddvj i gotta think... all i know for sure, i think, is that I'd probably prefer to stick to Shadowhunters in the London Institute. Not sure if there should be some grand plot or little plots with random downworlder troubles, or maybe the latter leads up to the former in some way? hmm

[ i will admit, I never read the prequel series that took place in London and all I remember Magnus Bane the warlock dude is in it. But Wikipedia is my friend and I like the Victorian time period. But time period is something I leave up to you.
As for plot. Maybe a parabatai friendship/bond or just in general downworld-evil-doers issue? ]

oh! That's alright, we probably only really need the setting and stuff about the downworlders. Everything else is superfluous. I'd prefer to leave it Victorian~ mayyyybe both? >;3c vampires or werewolves could be up to something? I know vamps were secretly catching and killing humans in the book?

[oh yes! i like that. the parabatai are asked to investigate the killings of humans. can i also say that we can totally make it so the infamous Jack the Ripper is actually vampires? because that would be 900% cool. ]

[ i will probably use one of my new characters, well old-refashioned-better-written-new characters. Jason, half Spanish. Though his name probably doesn't fit with the time so i might find a substitute or more eloquent name to use that has a nickname of Jason. Or Timothy, who is 100% ball of angst but he's really good at being smart and his job. i have official forms somewhere if you want them but they are more modern-esque. but they'll give a good base on who they are and who you might think work for partner. of course i have a girl or two in the mess of my computer ]

haha they both sound potentially adorable to me. Shoot, I forgot how deep the bond was supposed to be for parabatai...uuuum you can post forms if you'd like, but I might forego it, at least until I figure a little more stuff out. i was debating attempting two characters at first but on second thought I could probably only handle one atm ;-; so I'm just gonna play a girl, Cordelia, who I think would be on the more confident, upbeat, and probably a little on the bratty side...because I like rping brats lol. I suppose it'd be easiest to have a character that can either combat the fire or like, her opposite?

[ Okay so you can choose between social elite Timothy Adair or Spanish spitfire Jason Travieso ] Timothy Adair
Throughout his life, Tim has gone through a number of events that have altered his personality. Timothy has always been a serious child, but growing up has led to a number of events that has only intensified his already serious nature. As a child, he built up a good life for himself, good friends with people he could trust, his father accepted him and what he wanted to do with his life, he was friendly and likeable that he had been able to enjoy life and the social virtues. However, earth-shattering events happened—withdrawing Timothy into a serious shell and retreating to the shadows. He takes after his father the most between the Adair children. He is a kind young man who likes to have a plan, and is serious when needed, but has no problem relaxing when the time comes. Timothy is a logical son, he doesn’t always make the right assumptions and never reacts well, and his people skills are rough around the edges. This leads to an almost invisibility, whether intentional or not is not thought out, Timothy is not easily noticed. He doesn’t skirt between the lines of socializing, because that would require a visibility among his peers—despite the firmly upper-class up-bringing. Timothy has delicate, button-like features, pale skin with bright—intelligent, broken—blue eyes, raging like a storm wishing to be let free, but shadowed by the deep purple that threatens to consume him. His hair, in contrast, is dark with locks of hair falling around and framing his face.
Jason Travieso
Let’s start by assuming the worst of Jason, it’s easier: Jason Travieso is absolutely the person who forgets someone’s name the second you tell it to him. He has sensitive features, fair olive skin, dark hair, and ocean water blue eyes. He is tall and has a meticulous aspect to him. Sometimes he looked truly beautiful, like one of those angels in Italian Renaissance paintings. In this time of his life, Jason truly was beautiful. He still held his head on one side, and had a dimple when he smiled. When he spoke straight at you, so did he look at you; his gaze is cool, calculating, and soft. He has a clear cut optimism that borderlines almost gut-wrenchingly fake. He enjoys lighthearted sarcasm and completely cussing out others in Spanish, but manages to be a butterball of sunshine towards children and those he likes. He’s very practical, but hate’s structure and routine. However, Jason is very “go with the flow”, trusting in his ability to improvise in any situation presented to him—learning better with “hands-on” experience, rather than studying a book. He’s wholly loyal, has a rough-cut charm, and naturally smells like herbal tea and gunpowder. As much as he is a sweetheart towards his friends, Jason is a thickhead almost to a fault and can get really nasty quickly. He puts pressure on himself where, in a very less-than-mature like fashion, he represses everything in such an unhealthy way to the point of snapping.

ahhh decisions! i like them both ;-; uuum do you any preference for one over the other? x"D if not, i thiiiink Timothy would be best for interactions?? But Jason could be fun too, the only thing is I feel like there'd be too much fighting with him afbsafsa. but with Timothy there'd be more balance I think idk?

[ Tim IS easier to write. He also would be the brains to Cordelia's spitfire brashness. They would work well as a team. ]

[ if you don't mind starting? I need to regain a feel of the world so I'm gonna google around a bit. Maybe they, Timothy and Cordelia, can be doing the whole drawing runes on each other and just going over the details? ]
