Sageheart gave a slow nod. Even though marigold was a very important herb, she said nothing but finally gave the answer. "The leaves and f...flowers are chewed I..into a pulp and applied to t...the wound to stop infection." She said, opening a small leaf wrap that contained some green stalks with bright orangey-yellow flowers. "H..Here they are." She clarified, prodding at the bundle slowly with her nose. "M..Marigold is a very c..common herb that is q..quite useful."

Frostfeather ► Before Frostfeather could explode on the two, Cinderfall and Sparkstar stepped in to harshly tell them off. "Hmph. Serves them right..." she grumbled out loud. Frostfeather let out a huff, rasping her barbed tongue over a dainty paw and rubbing her forehead, although there probably was nothing more than a tiny feather there.
The tabby glared at the little troublemakers, addressing them by their true names. "That was utterly repulsive! Not to mention disrespectful. Don't ever do something like that again, lest you want a harsher punishment." She wasn't the best at reprimanding others, and she probably sounded like a disappointed mother at this point, but it was all she could do for now.
Flicking her tail at Cinderfall before waking away, she held her nose high, still looking a bit vexed. "Come, Cinderfall dearest. Let us go."

Cinderfall | 19 Moons | Camp Entrance | MorningCinderfall wasn't surprised that Sparkstar intervened, but she still gave him respect and didn't say a word to him after that. She watched as Frostfeather gave them a few words of her own, but she knew that the silver tabby would lay into them if no else stepped in. As the other she-cat passed her and beckoned her, the chocolate pointed she-cat followed her. The neared the camp's entrance and now was the best of time to ask where she wanted to go. "Where would like to go Frostfeather?" she asked her companion, she thought it was only fair after having a carcass thrown at her. She waited patiently for her response and didn't mind if she had to choose.

Frostfeather ► What a morning. It was good to get away from the business of the camp for a while, at least. Her anger ebbing away, Frostfeather tapped a paw on the ground as she thought for a moment. "Hm... What about the river? Perhaps we can find some fish there. It's close to the Twolegplace, though." She turned to Cinderfall, a knowing sparkle in her eyes. "So we'd best be careful not to bump into loners and kittypets."

Cinderfall | 19 Moons | Camp Entrance | Morning{It's fine Moon X3}
The creamy white she-cat looked at Frostfeather and thought about the river. Although it was close to Twolegplace it would be nice to catch some fish. Her green eyes narrowed a bit pondering on catching fish, she wiggled her whiskers in anticipation. "Sounds good to me, and if we run into any we can take them," she let out a soft purr of encouragement and headed towards the direction of the river. Her fluffy white paws made twigs snap along with pushing rocks out of her way. She hated it when she gets a real sharp one and in her paw pad. She cringed, imagining the pain.

"T..That is yarrow. It is applied to wounds to e..extract poison and can be f..fed to a cat to induce vomiting I...if they ingested poison. T..The ointment is actually good for a...sore pads too." Sageheart explained, prodding the bundle with her nose and hesitating, letting the kit sniff it so he could remember the scent. She then put it away swiftly and turned back to him. "I..I'm glad you take an I..interest in herbs. M..may I ask... Are you aspiring to be a leader one d..day? T..They usually have s..some knowledge of p..plants " She said, her tone slightly curious. Her paws began to tremble as she started getting nervous, and she turned around. N..Never mind. I'll go fetch S...Sorrelpaw, my apprentice. H..He'll be pleased to meet y..you." She finally concluded, leaving him to find her apprentice. She saw him outside, and padded over.

Sorrelpaw ► A genial beam made its way into Sorrelpaw's childlike features as he caught eye of his teacher, Sageheart, walking over him. He dipped his head low in a practiced greeting. "Good day, ma'am," came his formal, yet cheery tone. "I hope all is well." Sorrelpaw was always overjoyed to see Sageheart; she was a great friend, not to mention a very smart teacher. She did have a bad stutter, but Sorrelpaw didn't care about that at all. He knew the embarrassing feeling of stumbling over his own words, one thing he could sympathize with.
Frostfeather ► "Tread carefully, darling," Frostfeather meowed quietly. Her steps were just as painstakingly careful - she didn't want to get too messy out here, and the possibility of getting a thorn or bramble stuck in her paw was very high. At last, though, the gurgle of a rushing river could be heard not too far away, and she sighed in relief.
Artemis ► The plump, furry animal was quick to run, but Artemis was quicker.
Her pawsteps were so fast, it felt like she was running on the wind. Even a rabbit, which was just easy game for her, couldn't escape her hunting expertise. Finally, she closed in and landed a killing bite on the lapine's neck, slinging it's body over her back.
The lavender tabby could have gone outside with her hunting party today, but she decided against it. She was only hunting for her younger brother, Apollo, and it would probably bring up questions to any... unwelcome visitors. She wasn't too concered about getting too close to another cat's territory, since she boldly hunted wherever she pleased. Still, as a long river came in sight, she was careful not to her too close.
Two females were walking towards said river, but her moonstone eyes widened in awe as she saw the beautiful glowing auras around them. What a sight. So these are those glowing cats that I've been hearing about... She wanted to get a closer look at them, but stayed hidden in the brambles, her body pressed to the ground and careful not to make noise.

Sageheart dipped her head awkwardly, giving him a nod. "H..Hello Sorrelpaw. I think there I....is someone who w..would be very pleased to meet y..you." She said, gesturing to the den. "It's a k...it. He takes an I..interest in herbs." She added, licking her paw casually and turning around, heading back and beckoning for her apprentice to come. She completely thought that they would be the best of friends, not doubting that at all. In her thoughts, she almost tripped on a small rock but veered out of the way just in time.

Sorrelpaw ► "A kit..." Sorrelpaw echoed, suddenly curious. He beamed. This was the chance for him to show off his intelligence, as well as the information he'd collected over the past month. Sorrelpaw considered everything Sageheart told him to do as an "exam", and maybe this could be another one. Taking a deep breath, he slipped inside the den to see a little tom, a bit smaller than he sitting at attention in the center. Who was this again? Was it Roc... Rocketkit?
Sorrelpaw didn't know if this tom-kit was smarter than he looked - he was young, but some kittens could be very intelligent if they so chose - so he didn't want his greeting to sound childish. Taking a deep breath, Sorrelpaw smiled wide. "Greetings! I'm Sorrelpaw, if you didn't know already. I heard you're interested in our herbs...and possibly in becoming a medicine cat as well?"

Cinderfall | 19 Moons | River | MorningThe milky white she-cat walked slowly to the river and gave a warm purr. Her luminescent lavender light glowed warmly around her. Cinderfall looked down at the river looking at the water trying to find a juicy minnow in the mix. She looked at the water nervously she hated getting her white and chocolate brown fur all wet. She gulped as she saw a minnow and carefully went into so she didn't splash any water in Frostfeather's direction. Although she wanted to play in the cool water she knew that she must feed her Clan and it was definitely NOT playtime. She dove her face into the water and her teeth snatched the minnow in her jaws although she felt the rest of them swim on her legs. The fish was flopping its tail around while still being in her teeth and she went up back to the surface. She gave it a death bite and sent a prayer to StarClan.

Sageheart smiled faintly, watching the conversation from the sidelines and thinking that these two were very good together. "W..Well, you'll always b..be welcome in the m..medicine cat's den, R..Rufflekit." She said calmly, nodding. "S..So many other k..kits j...j..j..just want to be warriors." She added, shuffling around and making marks in the ground because her paws were dragging against it. "A..And, Sorrelpaw would be a great s..second teacher along with me." She remarked, thinking slightly ahead to when the young Rufflekit became an apprentice. The medicine cat imagined how excited he would be, but said nothing more for she decided that it would be enough to say that already.

Jaycall had a sudden, mischievous thought. What if he snuck out of camp to hunt and left until nightfall, coming back to his clanmates' surprise because they thought he went missing. That would be awesome. Maybe some she-cats would finally take notice of him... He slipped out of camp silently, not a twig even crunching under his careful paws. Heading into the sparse coniferous forest, he breathed in the calm air and caught the tantalizing scent of a small rodent catching the light and delicate breeze. Able to pinpoint the scent, he began to carefully stalk it, reaching a clump of unusually long grass that reeked of the smell. The warrior pounced, throwing his entire weight on the grass and feeling a small, furry body wriggling under him. He gave a small yowl of triumph, biting it's neck and letting it dangle from his jaws. Maybe he would even eat it later! But wasn't that against the rules? Oh, bother.
Flarestorm was lying around in camp, eyes half-closed. He was worn out from dawn patrol in the morning and even though he didn't want to be so lazy as to just lie around like that, he was feeling especially tired. He stretched, and decided to pad to the fresh-kill pile. He sat down by it and lowered his head slowly to fetch a scrawny creature that was practically all skin and bones. The senior warrior still left the best prey to young kings and ones more vulnerable than he, even if he was almost starving like this. He took a few bites and soon, it was all finished. He scratched his ear with a hind leg and decided to stay there until deciding to do something else.

Rufflekit calmed, sitting next to the apprentice and shuffling his paws. "Swirlkit and Tempestkit want to be leader, I did at first, but now I'm not so sure." He gazed around the medicine den in wonder; even though it held less herbs than the herb store, to him the hollows in the rock walls were overflowing with wondrous plants, and more were out there on the territory, waiting to be discovered. . Sageheart nodded. "M..Most kits like to be the leader w..when they are young. I s..suppose you do too." She replied, thinking back to her days as a kit. No one really talked to her, and the thought of being a leader actually never even creeped into her mind. Thoughts flooded her brain from kithood, such as sitting in the corner of the nursery and daydreaming, or trying to chew a tough piece of squirrel at the fresh-kill pile when the other kits pestered warriors. She got back to reality and waited for a response, not sure of what else to say.

Skye leaped silently from branch to branch in the thick trees. A dense mist was descending, despite it being only just past sunhigh, muffling sounds and smells. She stayed low to the branch, almost crawling along as she followed the young tom. She could faintly remember his name, stored in the back of her mind. Jaycry? Birdsound? No, definitely Jay something... She frowned to herself. Jay... Call! Jaycall! The mischievous young warrior! She smirked as she padded softly along the rough bark, planning how she would surprise him.
Rufflekit was deep in thought for a while, wondering at how marvellous herbs really were. "Sageheart?" He asked, snapping back into the real world. "Can I come and watch some of your lessons with Sorrelpaw sometimes?" He hoped the white she-cat would agree; he desperately wanted to learn more, even though he had a lot more time left before he became an apprentice.

Sageheart nodded. "Sure. A..Anytime." She replied with another nod, looking around the den and remembering as a kit how she visited often. "O..Of course, when you're not p..playing with the other kits." She added, the ghost of a smile flickering across her face again. "A..Are you okay w..with that, Sorrelpaw?" She asked her apprentice, making sure that he was okay with it before any little descisions were made. "R..Rufflekit is a v..very good listener." She added, giving an approving glance at the young kit and then looking back at Sorrelpaw to wait for an answer. In the short period of time where no one spoke, she breathed in the scents of all the herbs and tried to identify them individually. It was always a favorite pastime of hers. Comfrey, Catmint, Burdock, Parsley, and so many others

Jaycall briefly scented a familiar cat, but decided that he was just being too paranoid and dug into the mouse, breathing a satisfied sigh at the familiar, forestry scent and taste. Finally he could eat his own prey that he caught himself, not the bottom scraps of the fresh-kill pile. His mind flickered to Flarestorm and his oddly glowing head. That warrior was too humble and boring.. No fun for him. Jaycall abandoned his thoughts that were tickling the edge of his mind and suddenly jumped. There was the tiniest noise! His keen ears swivelled towards the direction of where the small sound was coming from and wondered if that was a bird. Perhaps he could catch it when it flew to the ground and bring that back as prey that he caught! That is, when he returned in the middle of the night and surprised everyone. It would be so funny to see the look on everyone's faces as they see a glowing figure enter camp that wakes them all up.

We'll let Moon reply before we go any further than that with Ruffle, Sorrel and Sage, just so she can catch up)
Skye froze in a crouch as his head whipped around, hoping he hadn't seen her. The dark she-cat searched his face for any signs of recognition, but when he glanced in the opposite direction, she realised he assumed it had been prey and hadn't spotted her hiding in the branches. He looked back momentarily, and she knew it was now or never, so she leaped. Claws sheathed and mouth closed, she landed on his back, sending them both rolling into a bush. She gave a warrior cry and began batting at him with her soft paws in a pretend battle, eyes sparkling as she attempted to hold in a laugh.

Cherrytuft let the kits parade a little while longer, then gathered them together with a sweep of her tail. "Darlings, come and say hello to Sageheart. I'm sure she'll want your help cleaning up the medicine den. She has a lot of herbs to put away, you know." Swirlkit and Tempestkit made faces of disgust. "We don't want to sort boring old herbs!" They mewed. "We want to talk to Foxleap!" The two kits bounded over to the well-named warrior and began grilling her with questions about battles, hunting, and other warrior related activities. Cherrytuft rolled her eyes, and then Rufflekit said quietly. "Mama, I would like to help Sageheart sort her herbs." He padded softly over to the white she-cat. "Sageheart?" He murmured softly. "Mama said I could help you with your herbs? Can I?" He had his mother's gift of making shy and insecure cats feel comfortable, and he got along with the medicine cat well because of that. Sorry I've been missing. School and stuff man) Foxleap's eyes widened at the questions that the kits were bombarding her with. She just stared at them in shock and confusion before she simply chuckled and tucked her paws under her chest. "Slow down you two" She said, flicking her tail to wrap around and cover some of her right side. "One at a time please" She said and looked them over before deciding who to answer first. "Swirlkit, what was your question?" the warrior asked looking down at the small cat.

He rolled around for a bit, tussling like a kit behind the bush with her, then got up and shook off his fur, sending leaves and small bits of twigs flying around. "Hello Skye." He greeted her, grinning mischievously. "I haven't seen you around for forever." He added. "Where have you been? Oh. Don't tell anyone that I'm here. I'm staying in the forest and coming back in the middle of the night to wake everyone up." He told her the plan, bright blue eyes twinkling.

Sorrelpaw ► Sorrelpaw nodded at Rufflekit vigorously. He'd always thought about teaching an apprentice when he got older, but now he could start preparing for it. "You'd like to be a medicine cat? That's great to hear." He let out a happy purr. "I have no qualms against teaching little Ruffle, ma'am," he said to Sageheart. "I think it'll be a good demonstration of the knowledge I have gathered thus far."@brambleisback rat Frostfeather && Artemis ► The silvery tabby slipped into the shallow river, letting the water flow comfortably over her silky pelage. She could stay right here and let the water calmly carry her away, but relaxation could wait. Right now, she had to catch something. With a swipe, she batted a minnow out of the stream and bit down on its gills before it could flop back into the water. As she picked up the scaly vertebrate, she swore she could hear a faint rustling noise nearby. Turning to Cinderfall, she managed a muffled, "Did you hear something, or is it just me?"@silvey

She added, licking her paw and now looking at both of the young toms before her. She gave an awkward nod. "Err... S..So, I think we are l..low on a few herbs. D..does any one of you want to go herb-picking w..with m..m..m..m.." The medicine cat began to ask, but has trouble saying the lasts odd. She took a deep breath. "S..Sorry. Herb-picking w..with me." Cinderfall | 19 Moons | River | Morning |
{ ooc }The creamy white she-cat gave a purr of delight watching the silver tabby she-cat swipe the minnow out of the water. Before she could congraulate her on her catch she heard a rustle somewhere around them, it was faint though. Although Cinderfall much rather not get into a fight, she didn't know what was causing such a rucass. "Yes," she spoke quietly looking around her. She couldn't pinpoint the source and the fur raised on her back. She wasn't a very happy with what was going on. Maybe we could make a run back to camp? She thought to herself.
