Not for us anyway...
A deadly sickness spread throughout the world. It took everyone...except for the not so-human. The werewolves, an almost extinct race, were not infected. They were completely unaffected and thrived, now not under the watchful eye of the humans. Weredogs, a lesser breed, were also not affected and similarity now roam the streets free. The city, Old York, has just werewolves and weredogs for weeks now. However, some weredogs and werewolves didn’t take to the change, or simply let the power go to their head. They became feral. This means they may be stuck between forms and have this crazed look in their eye. If they bite you, you do not become feral; however, they will try to tear you to shreds. They are becoming rapidly more intelligent and vicious. They started to attack in groups. So, in order to fight this, a small pack is forming in the city. Their base is a hotel, Night rest, is near the middle of city and is slowly being reinforced.
Will you join this pack, or try to fight them on your own?
Rules
1. Follow the forum rules.
2. Don't be rude to or fight with other members. Of course, it is okay if your character is rude or likes to fight everyone, just don't be rude OOC.
3. Don't make unrealistic characters. I'm aware shifters aren't realistic, but they aren't bright blue or can't shoot lasers out of their eyes. This includes perfect characters in both looks and personality. Please, don't make these. They are just irritating.
4. Keep it PG-13. Take it to PM if you want to rp anything above that.
5. LGBQ+ people are welcome. If you are uncomfortable, please relocate yourself.
6. I'm not requiring a length for your posts, but don't post one sentence.
7. Don't be afraid to throw in a feral shifter or hurt your character. Small drama is okay. Just don't have it affect the group unless you have cleared it with me.
The city
It is simply too big to describe. There seem to be an endless amount of buildings and roads covering miles of flat land. Around the edges, the builds do thin out and get more suburb-y and the roads get wider, but towards the middle, the buildings tend to be taller and very sturdy. Concrete covers almost all of the inner-city.
- The pack's base/home is a hotel called Night rest. It is fairly tall and large, though not expansive or too cheap. On the bottom floor, there is a waiting room, use-to-be dining room, and a kitchen. The rest of the floors are rooms. They are a mix between rooms with two beds and rooms with one. All of the rooms contain a bathroom, basic furniture, and a bed.
- However, there is large, green park in the middle of the city. It doesn't contain any prey of value, unless you like pigeons and squirrels.
- There is also a subway that doesn't work anymore due to unknown reasons. The lighting doesn't even work. The ferals have a habit of hanging out down there and there is only rats, so not many people dare to hang out down there.
- To the east, there is a docking area which large ships once use to visit. The gateway to the sea is now abandoned.
Use your imagination when coming up with places.
Questions you may have thought of, or need to know
What are weredogs?
They are like werewolves except they don't change into a wolf; they change into a dog. They can change into any type of dog. They come from people who have had only a small nip from a werewolf, were bitten by a weredog, or were born as one. Weredogs have less pack instinct and can remain somewhat sane in the full moon, though they tend to be weaker than the werewolves both in human form and lupine form.
Aren’t there two alphas and two betas?
Yes! There is. Normally, it is the alpha and their mate leading the pack along with the beta and their mate. However, since we have werewolf/weredogs and not wolves/dogs, the mates don’t necessarily have to be of the opposite gender, or even their mate. It can be someone they trust to lead besides them.
How should my character act around people of higher/equal/lower rank?
The ranks only affect the werewolves and weredogs around or on the full moon. Calling rank and forcing people to do things on that bases is frowned upon in the pack, especially when doing this to an omega.
What happens to clothing?
Unless you like ripped clothing, take the clothes off before transformation. No convenient magic clothes.
I don’t want to have a born werewolf/weredog character. How could my character obtain this life?
Well, it is normally from a bite. When a weredog bite a human, the only thing a human can turn into is a weredog. When a werewolf bites a human for a long time, the humans turns into a werewolf. However, when the bite is short or the DNA somehow diluted, then the person will become a weredog.
How are ranks chosen?
Not by the biggest or strongest. They are normally chosen by who has the best leadership qualities. Wolves don’t care if you can wrestle them to the ground. They want to know that you’re smart enough to lead them through the territory without getting lost or know how to pick the weak elk from the herd. Keeping a cool attitude in an dangerous situation also helps. The smallest wolf can become an alpha and the biggest can become an omega.
