The darkness tonight is near suffocating, but on the sandy stretch of beach, the stars can be seen peering down on the two cats. They were sitting side-by-side, staring back at the velvet-smooth sky, and the smattering of stars twinkling above. "Oh, Duckfeather," the she-cat's voice came out high-pitched with a tinge of sadness, "What in the name of Starclan are we going to do?"
The tom sitting beside her was staring intently at the stars, not daring to look his mate in the face, as not to betray his own feelings about their predicament. For as long as the two young cats could remember, Magnoliaclan had been a haven. The only home that they knew, yes, but a paradise nonetheless. Over the past few moon turns, however, water has been growing quite scarce. The lake had nearly dried up completely, and that had been the clan's only source of water.
"We do what we have to," the young tom answered, finally daring to look Robinfrost in the eyes, "We will protect our future kits at any cost," he told her, "We're going to find a new source of water, and our kits are going to grow up healthy and happy, just like we did." He nuzzled his mate affectionately, Starclan save me, I hope I'm right.
