Yesterday is not ours to recover, but tomorrow is ours to win or lose. - Lyndon B. Johnson
New York City June 6th, 2006 2240 hours
Delete email immediately upon completion. Do not tell anybody about this email. Assumption that we do not know will result in unsavory circumstances. Read carefully.
Meeting Place: Hell's Kitchen Park Date: September 18th 2006 Time: 1600 hours You need only bring yourself and necessary belongings. It is not needed to bring clothes as money will be provided to buy fresh. Pack as lightly as possible. If you cannot use one arm to carry your bag, remove some items. It is essential that you do not bring us down with too many items, as that will be troublesome.
As a new and upcoming FBI Agent, you have been selected to partake in the Veil operation. Veil is a quiet law enforcement group consisting of six people, all of whom have their own specialisations. You have shown promise, and so have four of your coworkers. Of course, it has likely not escaped your notice that I say "four" rather than "five". This is because there is a single member already invested in Veil, who has handpicked you and the four others as their coworkers. It is possible to reject, but do not respond to this email. Simply do not arrive at the place in question - that will be all that is needed for a rejection. Let it be known, however, that you will have no claim upon Veil once rejected. You have a single chance: take it or leave it.
Veil missions will be highly dangerous, and when you are not on a mission you will be expected to train and keep tabs on your own progress. You will not be babied through this process. In Veil, you either sink or you swim, and if you are afraid, then...good. You should be. This is not a simple task nor is it a trick. You must trust your team. If this does not happen within six months of being in Veil, you will be removed. There are various trust tests, none of which are announced beforehand.
Please ensure that you have a government-standard file on hand, preferably of your own making. An email will follow detailing the format, and this will stay on our personal files.
Veil awaits.
Undisclosed LocationUnknown Date, 2015 ??? hours It always happened. Everything shattered. Broke. Burned. Died.It was like going through hell and back, only there was only one survivor of six and the guilt was unbearable. Veil was compromised. Send help.Undisclosed Location October 15th, 2016 2300 hours
"Good evening, people," says the hooded person, their voice as androgynous as the rest of them. Any hint to a possible gender is hidden by their clothing and what sounds to be a voice changer. "I assume you have all received the email. I can count five of you, which is the correct number, and so I shall repeat the email now;
'Veil is a law enforcement group, created in 2006. At the time, the members were young and oftentimes too daring, but they did their job well and that is why a large budget was finally put in place in 2010. Their missions were often successful, and they became infamous within both the FBI and criminal rings. It was rumoured that they were unstoppable, that they were a raging force that could not be stopped.
And yet, that was not to be so. In 2015, I received an email from the leader stating 'Veil was compromised. Send help'. Naturally, I sent help, and we only managed to rescue a single member of Veil. Two of the members are still listed as missing, whereas the others were confirmed dead at the scene. Please take this into consideration, as I need to warn you that should you choose this job, it is highly likely that you will die and-slash-or go missing. The only original member remaining is the leader, whom will be able to tell you of your missions and will be the only link to me that you will have.
Agent. The time has come to step up and do your duty to your country. Veil needs you and your talents, and this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. We considered, briefly, shutting down the group; but the leader was adamant that we keep the group alive, and so you five have been handpicked by the leader.'"
There is silence. Nobody dares to breathe, let alone speak, and the tension is high. Of course, the job comes with its risks. What job wouldn't, in this line? An independent law enforcement squad is in just as much danger as, say, a group from the Special Ops division of the FBI; it is deadly, dangerous work, with a high risk of painful death. If any of the agents had not intended to take on a job away from their home, then they likely would not have come.
"Good," the figure could be smiling, but it's hard to say. "Your flight leaves in thirty minutes. Follow me."

The most painful goodbyes are those that are never said and never explained. - Bilal Nasir Khan
Original Members: Tove Jasper Anna Martinez Michael Santiago Jamie Liao Emmett Singh Charlotte White
Founded in 2006 by an unknown source, Veil took on six FBI agents in rapid succession, which leads many to believe that they are a sub-branch of the FBI; though it is hard to tell, and they are very rarely near civilisation, save for the occasion where they have to chase down a criminal. Overall, they're quietly out of the way and their location is not disclosed; somewhere in North America, that is all that will be stated. Their main base is well-hidden in the mountains as a large log cabin with six bedrooms (for each member), a living room, a decent-sized kitchen with a dining table and six chairs, two bathrooms, and a secret panel that leads down to their basement, which is their main base of operations.
But enough about the base; let's get into Veil as an organisation.
As mentioned, it was founded by an unknown source - it is probable that the leader knows who they are, but the information remains disclosed to everyone else. The mysterious source has appeared twice in person to the entire team; the first team was briefed similarly to the second team, and so that was the only time that the hooded figure appeared.
In 2015, mistakes were made which ultimately led to the deaths and possible kidnappings of the team. Michael Santiago, Emmett Sing and Charlotte White were pronounced dead at the scene. Anna Martinez and Jamie Liao have yet to appear, though it is highly likely that they have died - and if they haven't, then they are either being tortured or have betrayed Veil. The only remaining member is Tove Jasper, whom handpicked the first team and was tasked to pick the second team, too. An experience like that changes a person, and it is no doubt that he has changed entirely.
The team operates in a controlled manner; they may act like family towards each-other, but in the end, they are coworkers and must make the correct decision in order to stop Veil from becoming compromised again. A second failure will result in the deletion of the entire group and those who know about it.
In order to travel, the team has a black van with three seats in the front and an empty space in the back. The back can be loaded with tech and is kitted with built-in wifi in the case that they need to access the internet; it's completely secure. The van is very hardy and can travel over any terrain, for the most part, and the glove compartment holds an attachable light in the case that other cars need to be moved out of the way. There is also a siren, for dire emergencies; it is best not to use this as Veil is primarily undercover
As regular people and law enforcement do not know about Veil, the FBI has issued the team with their own badges as a special division (only solidifying the theory that Veil is run by the FBI; though again, it's hard to truly know). These badges, of course, hold their picture and their name and a badge to prove that they're law enforcement. They also have a verified badge number which can be called should anyone doubt their authenticity. Veil members do hold the authority to make arrests, but it is better for them to only arrest their targets.
Very rarely, there come times where Veil members are told to shoot a target on sight. There are two shootings; shoot to kill and shoot to prevent escape. Due to this, there is a firing range not too far from the log cabin that members are required to put at least two hours a week. This equals to eight hours a month, and if that quota is not filled, then the leader will question them on it. Failure to uphold training can endanger the team, and so it is taken seriously. There is also an obstacle course, though this is not entirely required - it's optional, really, and usually the entire team goes if they're going at all, since it requires teamwork. Members do not often go to their training places alone.

If you must break the law, do it to seize power; in all other cases, observe it. - Julius Caesar Veil is an advanced-level crime roleplay, centering around the six team members and how they interact with each-other as well as how they cope on missions, and the like. It heavily relies on characters and their interactions and so your posts should generally keep in touch with how the character feels, using all of their senses as well as their emotions. For five of the members (the five available), this is their first time doing something like this. Now, when I say "advanced", I mean you need fairly good grammar and spelling. I understand typos and mistakes; English isn't my first language, but I feel like I handle things fairly well. Typos, I understand. Mistakes, I understand. However, if your post is unreadable I will have to talk to you about it - I'm here to help, though! I'm by no means perfect, but if you want to use this as an opportunity to push yourself, by all means, you're welcome. My general post length will probably vary from 700 words and above; if given sufficient material, however, I can often dip into 2000 words and above. That, however, depends on what posts I'm given! I would like a roleplay sample, and this sample must be private messaged to me even if we've roleplayed together before. You may claim a spot but you should not make a character form until you've been accepted through the sample, and your claim can still be taken on the off-chance that someone wants it and sends a sample to me first. You can also link me to threads. However, I do not want you to write up a massive post just as the sample; I need to know what your average length is. Activity, of course, is a must. I only ask for two roleplay posts a week, sometimes one if you really can't do it. If you're heavily involved in an ongoing plot, however (and as a small group roleplay, this will happen often), please try your best to get on often! As someone who has both work and college, I understand inactivity, but if you ditch this roleplay for a week without warning, it's possible for you to be deleted. Small group roleplays often die because people can't be bothered to get on. If you even just come on to chat, then I'm fine with that! Chatting is a great opportunity to get to know each-other. I'm not going to get on your a-- for no reason; please know that I completely understand if you can't work up the energy to roleplay, I just need to be communicated with otherwise I'm going to have to delete you. Of course, the general thing goes; do not create mary-sues/stus, don't control other people's characters, your character is not almighty, and so on. Please suit your character to their role and not to all of the roles; these are specialists unless stated otherwise. They were chosen for a single skill, and the entire team would not be needed if a single person was good at everything. Your character is not obligated to get along with everyone. In fact, it makes it more fun if they choose to have rivalries with someone, or if they choose to question someone rather than just go along with it. People are not sheep and so they do not need to follow along all the time; though note that going over-the-top with it will result in a warning. Verbal and physical sparring I understand, but there's a thin line between "rebellious" and "disobedient to the point where they'd be removed from Veil"; it's entirely possible to create character conflicts without being downright unrealistic for a law enforcement squad. That said, realism is not what I'm hugely going for save for the general dynamics and the like. This roleplay is totally gonna be over-dramatic and exaggerated in terms of everything so like, hell yeah.

You cannot dream yourself into a character; you must hammer and forge yourself into one. - Henry David Thoreau
The Leader A singular member who survived the first team's downfall, the leader is a figure who has been around from the very start. They handpicked both teams and keep contact with the mysterious Veil founder, and they are in charge of all operations. Not only do they ensure that everyone does their work, they also make sure that hours are being put into practice, and that all paperwork is sorted and filed. They are the brains of the operation, handling politics and important decisions. Tove Jasper
The Mechanic Maybe someone who's good with cars doesn't sound like a great addition to a team, but their role is important; keep the van running, ensure that nothing was sabotaged, and also sabotage criminal cars. They can generally identify most cars even by sound and they're pretty important when it comes to driving around, too. It's important for them to be at every mission as they are generally good with maps, and so they work as a navigation expert, in a way - though only on roads. Mapping out quick routes is a skill, and the mechanic uses it. Jae-won Yoon
The Linguist Sometimes, going to other countries is necessary - and so is translating emails and documents that come through connecting to their cases. The linguist might not speak all of the languages, but they speak most of the majority languages and they're generally more of a laid-back member, staying at base to ensure that their information is correct rather than go out on active missions. They are also the person who tends to book flights to other countries and ensure that everyone has their passports. claimed
The Muscle Maybe not the brainiest of the operations, but they compensate for that in the fact that they are strong. The muscle is someone who's very capable at hand-to-hand combat, and often ends up undercover for clubs (as a bouncer). They're intimidating, good at wringing information from people in a rather violent manner, and overall, an essential part of the physical aspect of missions. When it comes to taking down guards and being a brick wall to protect their team-mates, the muscle has it down. Camille Ricci
The Tech Every good team needs someone who's good with computers, and the tech is definitely that person. They're confident in their abilities as a computer genius and so they're pretty good at hacking, building computers, and things along that vein. Sometimes, they'll do illegal things to get information, but it's fine because no-one in the team really knows, they just get told that the tech isn't doing that. Of course, they're also in charge of surveillance of places and they're usually the one to remain in the van on missions so that they can communicate and tell the team about any danger through the headsets. Skylar Brennan
The Gunman This person is, essentially, an expert on firearms. They're the one who puts the most hours into the range, the one who is such a sharpshooter that they can shoot from most distances. The missions where a criminal needs to be shot is their forte, where they are free to do mostly what they like as long as they follow orders. Generally, they're placed in a location where they can take down a moving target without harming one of the team, or they're put in the front as someone who has good reflexes. Need to know about something that shoots people? Go to this person. Louis Emmeric Henley

Teamwork makes the dream work, but a vision becomes a nightmare when the leader has a big dream and a bad team. - John C. Maxwell
Current Missions: September 10th, 2016 The five new members have just arrived at the cabin. They are expected to settle in and learn about each-other, and meet the leader. There will be various trust tests over the course of the next six months, and this mission can run alongside other missions. Members involved: everyone Complete by: March, 2017
Given: September 10th, 2016 Transcript to follow. Speaker: Hazel F. Maybury, Politician and billionaire, located in Arizona. "I have received reports of an abandoned plot of land somewhere in the Sonoran Desert - apparently, there is a warehouse used for illegal transportation. Whether these are drugs or people or what, we're not quite sure; but I will be honest, here. I am not expecting you to take down these people. I am expecting you to scope out the warehouse, possibly infiltrate it if you can. I'm looking for a certain item - the Glorian Diamond. Legend says that it was owned by a Royal Family, and, of course, this family is tied to mine. I am the rightful owner of the Diamond, and yet it has been taken from the safe it was located in. Quiet retrieval would be preferred, however, if you truly need to, a louder entry would be fine. As long as the thief, one Dmitri Maximus, does not know that it was I who ordered it, then I will be pleased. Your reward will be two million dollars, as well as access to the Maybury Airfield, located in a quiet location in Michigan." Members involved: everyone. Two to infiltrate Dmitri Maximus' warehouse, the rest to keep watch and serve as backup. Complete by: September 20th, 2016 Mission Status: Incomplete Possible Hazards: Dmitri Maximus is not known to be violent, but he seems to have hired a guard recently. The known number is 10, which doesn't seem like many but he appears to have them stationed in sturdy locations. There are four cameras inside, and two outside; it would be wise to disable them, somehow. All of the guards speak Spanish, primarily, and Dmitri himself only speaks Italian. We could be dealing with a possible Mafia member, but that is not important. What is important is that we do not trip any alarms, which could bring his backup along. There is not a fatal warning on this mission, but there is a high risk of injury. A Medical Team will be on stand-by. On the off-chance that Maximus is involved with the Mafia and has connections telling him of people arriving near the Sonoran Desert by plane, there will be a road trip. It will take approximately four days of slow travel, possibly five, as we cannot go directly to the desert - it would be wise to go around and approach from a different direction, hence wiping a possibility of being tracked to Veil HQ.
- Good luck.
News: - There is no news at present.
Relationships: - There are no relationships at present. None of the team members know each-other; will be updated when rivalries, friendships, and the like are formed.
Joining Form:
Name: Codename: Gender: Age: Height: Weight: Character Role: Extras:
Physical Description:
Personality:
- The form must be filled out as it is listed above. Please do not use any other forms from other roleplays. - Remember that flaws are necessary, and that the character will be specialised to their role. - Extras can range from how they currently feel about other characters to necessary things you feel like adding. - Height and weight must be realistic; it's easy to find a chart about the general weight for a certain height. Remember that muscle is heavier than fat.

A friend is someone who gives you total freedom to be yourself. - Jim Morrison
Name: Tove Jasper Codename: Hades Gender: male Age: 34 years old Height: 5'5'' Weight: 137lbs Character Role: The Leader Extras: His codename was a joke from his original team - most people refer to him by his surname when not using his codename. He was born in America, but his parents were Cuban (father) and Egyptian (mother), and hence he speaks Spanish and Egyptian Arabic; though he's illiterate in both and only speaks them fluently. He is proud of his heritage.
Physical Description: 5'5'' is not a height that one should be proud of, but really, Tove couldn't care less. He's lean-muscled, with most of his muscle in his legs, and he has an overall slender physique. His skin is a smooth brown with a small mole dotting underneath his right eye and two underneath the left side of his lower lip, one above the other with a small space between them. A couple more moles dot over his neck; one on his adam's apple, a few on the left side of his neck and a couple by his hairline behind his left ear. His face is slender with a sharp jawline and a small nose, and there's a sort of elegance about him that could be decided as attractive, in a way. He's often mistaken as being in his early twenties rather than his mid-thirties, due to his gentle face. His almond-shaped eyes are sharp and were once both brown, but there's a notable scar just above his right eye, and that eye is a light blue with the barest hint of brown in the lower left corner. His other eye is brown, which was the natural colour; he had a trauma to the eye that nearly caused him to lose his sight, and he lost iris pigmentation after the operation that saved his sight. He is longsighted, and wears slender black rectangle glasses when he needs to read; though he very rarely wears these in front of other people, and so it's strange to see him with them. Tove has a small scar cutting through the middle of his lower lip, and another that cuts through the left side of his upper lip, though its small and barely noticeable. Another two scars vanish into his hairline, and he has some rather nasty scarring over his throat, just underneath his adam's apple. More scars, of course, litter his torso, some in the shape of bullet wounds, some from knife wounds, and some from dog bites (there's a particularly nasty one that needed some grafting on the left side of his lower back, just above his hip. His left arm has some nasty scarring, suggesting that that's where the skin was taken from). His inner thighs are also scarred, and he has a shapeless patch of scarring just above his ankle. His hair is cut into an undercut, and it's a dark brown with reddish hues here and there. It's tousled and somewhat curly, and he often keeps it pinned back with many bobby pins so that it doesn't get in his way. He usually wears long black cargo pants tucked into calf-high black combat boots, and a black turtleneck - overall, covering all of his scars save for his facial ones. Tove definitely has the look of someone who's been through hell and back, and he's clearly been through a lot; but that's how it goes, with Veil. Always being thrown into danger, and the like. It's possible to call him intimidating, really, especially considering how unnerving he can become when he actively dislikes someone.
Personality: Before the "incident", Tove might've been a kind person. Now, however, he feels the guilt of letting his entire team die and feels the weight of people refusing to believe him about his two final team-mates being dead, and so he's suffering in silence. He's generally apathetic to look at and tends to come off as emotionless, often seen as some sort of machine that cannot be cracked past. He's keenly intelligent, that's for sure, and he's cautious so that he doesn't cause anymore deaths for his team. Tove is a highly strategic person, and paired with his eidetic memory, he tends to come up with fairly good strategies, overall. He throws himself into his work to distract himself, however, and this often causes him to overwork himself; he's prone to losing sleep and forgetting to eat, and tends to prefer to be overworked, overall. The more exhausted he is once he finally goes to bed, after all, the less he seems to dream. His brain is a mishmash of conflict - varieties of hating himself and tearing himself up over the incident being his fault because he wasn't good enough, and the guilt of being the only survivor. Since the wound is still fresh, he tends to dodge away from the subject and becomes irritable and snappish with anyone who brings it up, preferring, instead, for them to shut up and get on with their work. He tends to be somewhat short-tempered and can come off as a heartless person (as mentioned before; first impressions are often 'emotionless'), and he tends to keep a calm facade with simpler facial expressions. Frankly, it's near impossible to get near this man. He's sharp enough to cut yourself on, and he's not exactly interested in making friends. While he's extremely determined to keep Veil alive, he doesn't think that he should form bonds with anyone - his previous team were his family, his loved ones, and if he has to feel that loss again, he probably won't survive it. That said, however, he does have a decent sense of humour. Despite his emotionless exterior, he's prone to making dad jokes and terrible puns. Like, seriously - it might be hard to detect at first, but despite his cold exterior, he's...not a bad person, as such. Not a good one - he's never been a good person - but he's not as cruel as he can seem. Truth be told, Tove is the sort of person who finds amusement in calling other grown adults his "children" and who very rarely raises his voice. Admittedly, trauma has caused him to be much icier than he used to be, but he's trying his best and the guilt keeps getting to him, but he's ploughing on despite everything because he knows he has to survive. Really, he has two priorities: keep the team alive, and keep himself alive. If he dies and Veil shuts down, his first team's deaths will have been for nothing, and he doesn't want that to happen. Overall, he's a stubborn bull of a man who is generally apathetic towards most things nowadays, but he's trying his best.
Name: Louis Emmeric Henley Codename: Sigmund Gender: Male Age: 31 years old Height: 6โ2โ Weight: 175 lbs Character Role: the Gunman Extras: His codename originates from a childrenโs show that he used to watch as a child called Sigmund and the Sea Monsters. He was born in France, so he learned French, and his grandparents taught him German; heโs considered trilingual. He prefers to snipe over anything, but heโs very good all-around. His trusty handgun is the glock 18m, and one of his favorites is the McMillian Tac-50.
Physical Description: Standing at the impressive height of 6โ2โ, his girlfriend at the time suggested he should become a professional basketball player, or a model. He is lean but sturdily-built, with muscles that are well toned throughout his body. His skin ranges in the medium-tone, and is smooth with very little visible blemishes. His face is slender with a noticeable jawline, and he has a sharp nose. He has thick, black eyebrows and slightly pointed ears that stick out from his hair a bit. He gets complimented on his looks a lot, and is asked if he is a model (maybe he shouldโve chosen the model life). He is of half Korean, half Caucasian descent. His large, almond shaped eyes are a shade of light brown, sometimes a hue of amber in the sunlight. He has very accurate vision (which is good since his job depends on it), and he goes the extra length to always protect his eyes. His hair is jet black and always short and is normally pushed back, out of his eyes. He also sometimes sports a beard if he chooses to grow out his facial hair โ often more than not, he prefers to keep it clean shaven. He always has a cheeky grin on his face, flashing his dimples. His lips are pink and plump, and heโs known to always carry around chapstick with him. He has nice, straight teeth. He has his fair share of scars (thanks to his job), and heโs proud of them, as he sees them as a physical roadmap of where heโs been in his life. His torso has its share of bullet wounds and knife wounds. He has many scars on his hands and his shoulders have dealt with a lot, dealing with recoils from strong firearms. He also has a scar near his temple that vanishes to his hairline. He usually wears dark jeans that are comfortable to run in, black/gray/white shirt, combat boots, and his trusty military-style jacket, where its pockets are filled with weapons. He always sports a watch on his left wrist, and has considerable weapons on his body at all times. He has hidden sewn pockets on all his clothes.
Personality: Louis is a playful individual that likes to have fun and be casual. He likes to crack very corny jokes and is the type to make up his own nicknames for people that heโs in constant contact with. Many people have dismissed him in his past, thinking โoh heโs just another pretty faceโ, but this pretty face can do a lot of damage, both physically and emotionally. He is very intelligent, having above-average IQ of 130. Although his humor is mostly light-hearted, Louis isnโt afraid to completely crush someoneโs spirit with his words, and he can quickly turn a light conversation into a very very dark one. He has a pretty even temper, but once heโs mad, heโs mad, and heโs scary when heโs mad. He becomes quiet and broody, and then you wonโt know what hit you. Heโs very serious about his job and the risks that it comes with and what he deals with on a daily basis. Deeper inside, heโs a very stoic man that uses humor to deflect attention from himself and tries to balance out the negatives he sees in his line of work. He doesnโt like to fool around when he has work on his mind, and his personality can do a 180 degree flip in a matter of seconds. Heโs very loyal, compassionate, and protective of the people heโs close with, and also very studious, organized and productive. Heโs not completely heartless, for he can empathize with others โ he just doesnโt show any outwardly emotions except for anger and humor. In his line of work, he canโt allow for his emotions to be easily swayed because with one click of his finger, he could end a life. He canโt allow his emotions to consume himself.
Name: Skylar Brennan Codename: Spider Gender: Female Age: 25 years old Height: 6'3" Weight: 150 pounds Character Role: The Tech Extras: Her codename comes from how awkwardly tall she is.
Physical Description: Skylar can be rather intimidating the first time you meet her. Given her height of six foot three, she towers over most people, especially other women. Those who actually know her, however, that her height is rather more of an embarrassing inconvenience to her than an advantage. For one, it's almost impossible for her to find clothes that fit her right-- most pants designed for women are too short and end up looking like capris, while jackets end up stopping well above her wrists, giving her the look of a child that's rapidly outgrown her clothes. And don't get her started on having to look down at people when she's talking to them. She's rather skinny as well, with long, thin limbs and a lithe frame. Lanky is a good word to describe her. As for features, Skylar looks much like your stereotypical nerd. A rather good looking nerd, actually. Her skin is smooth and pale, unblemished by acne or scars, though freckles dot her nose and cheeks. She has high cheekbones and a smooth, rounded jaw. Fiery light ginger hair falls in waves to her mid-back, contrasting rather nicely with her bright, intelligent sea green eyes. A pair of wire rimmed glasses frame her eyes, though they have a habit of sliding off at inconvenient times, causing her to adjust them frequently. She's left handed and usually wears a battered watch on her right wrist.
Personality: Skylar has earned a bit of a reputation in the Bureau as somewhat of a prodigy. A whiz with computers, she's the one to call if your computer freezes in the middle of an important report or if you've seized a heavily encrypted hard drive that needs to be broken into. Her biggest issue? Not everything she does is entirely honest. In the process of collecting evidence, she's not afraid to bend the rules or even to break laws in the pursuit of whatever she's been asked to do. In fact, much of the time she purposely sticks her nose where it doesn't belong, such as the time she casually hacked into the CIA's database to find evidence or when she broke into her boss's email to see if he was going to give her the raise she'd asked for. She's never actually been caught, probably because she understands the language of computers much better than most of the nerds working in the Cyber Crime division and is incredibly skilled at covering her tracks. One thing she'd never do, however, is use her abilities in a malicious way; she may have a bad habit of breaking rules, but the way that she sees it, it's okay as long as she puts criminals in prison and does what she's doing for the greater good. Skylar may be gifted in the language of computers, but she really isn't very socially gifted. She's rather awkward when it comes to pleasantries, and tends to come across as blunt and insensitive at times. She does try to get along with people, but finds it rather hard to understand the actions of those who aren't quite as smart as her, which she finds to be illogical. As a result of this, she lacks close relationships to others, which often upsets her-- especially when she's trying her best to get along with others yet still manages to drive them away. She's actually beginning to come to the conclusion that she's better off alone.
Name: Jae-won โJayโ Yoon Codename: Rabbit Gender: Male Age: 29 years old Height: 5โ8โ Weight: 144 Ibs Character Role: The Mechanic Extras: His codename, which may seem a little ridiculous considering how much he frowns, comes from the description a dear friend had given him years back when she saw his eyes and realized what kind of person he was, telling him that he was actually โkind of docile and vulnerable like a rabbit.โ Heโs reluctant to tell the origin of his codename to others and will be quite embarrassed if someone manages to pull the information out of him. He was born in America, though both of his parents are Korean. He speaks and writes Korean fluently while heโs illiterate in Japanese and can only speak the language. He has a good sense when it comes to navigating areas and knows exactly where to go no matter how long it takes, but only if heโs been there once before. Actually finding the place for the first time is a whole different story.
Physical Description: Lean and quite youthful, Jay is a man with a rather pale complexion. Heโs quite slender overall when it comes to his facial feature and figure despite his strength, and he has glossy black hair that messily curls against his throat and hangs over his brown eyes, which are often described as โrabbit-fur-brownโ according to his friend back in his hometown. Some may instantly notice the contemplative and warm light that resides within his round eyes, despite how often he quirks an eyebrow at someone or scowls. He has smooth skin, though it doesnโt go without its flaws as he has a white scar over the left side of his jawline from an accident that had happened years ago while he was working. The back of his left hand also bears a rather long and nasty looking scar, which stretches across his skin, almost reaching his wrist. His hands are long, slim, and calloused, probably from playing the cello for most of his life. He also knows how to play the piano as well from memorization, though his song choices are limited when it comes to the much larger instrument because he only managed to learn a few songs from a sharp-tongued teacher he once knew. He seems to have the ability to be able to hear notes in a song and play the tune right away, which might be another reason for why heโs so sensitive when it comes to sound and knowing what vehicle is what during his work. The locks of his hair often mingle in with his thick and dark lashes, which he has to push out of the way from time to time in order to see, and he can be considered as someone attractive โ if it isnโt interrupted by the wealth of his expressions, that is. He can be seen with his hair tied into a low tail behind himself that rests on his shoulder when heโs working or eating, since it gets in the way. That may be why he always has a black hair tie wrapped around his wrist, mostly because he's too lazy to store it somewhere and keep it from getting lost. Itโs easy to spot the smallest hint of a smirk touching his lips when heโs relaxed or feeling particularly confident, in either himself or in those who surround him. He usually tosses on anything simple and comfortable, though the most seen article of clothing he has on is a black shirt. He honestly doesn't seem to really care that much for his clothes, as long as it's wearable and easy to move around in.
Personality: Oh, Jay. As a vigorous individual for having a knack when it comes to stirring up trouble, heโs the one who will always question something, silently or outwardly, before accepting it. It takes a while to see through the barrier he has set up for himself, though the more someone spends time with him, the more they will be able to understand and read his intentions. Once thatโs done his thoughts and wishes are like an open book to decipher. Jay may come off as easygoing in the beginning, though it doesnโt take much to recognise that heโs also quite reserved despite what his demeanour seems to indicate since heโs usually not the one to launch off a conversation unless the situation calls for it, or he feels safe enough around that one person. While Jay may come off as someone who can be uncaring, sharp-tongued, and quick-tempered, once he feels comfortable enough and opens up little by little, heโs probably one of the most loving souls one will come across. Surprisingly gentle, forgiving, and considerate, heโs someone who is always careful to clean up after himself and takes responsibility for his mistakes. Open-minded and flexible, heโs a good listener, making him an easy person to talk with even when his relationship with you may only be a thin, but mutual layer of companionship. If he sees that someone is struggling with even the most simple matter, he will offer them a supporting shoulder to lean against and is loyal to those who have earned his trust - and that loyalty will go for them until he is good as dead. And the most silly part about him that he doesnโt like to admit to anyone is that heโs an idealist opposing what his initial impression may offer, as he constantly looks out for the small hint of good in even the worst of people and circumstances. He may be considered to be aged to some degree, but heโs still quite young at heart. The idealistic side of him is a source that brings him down somtimes because heโs too trusting and will act based on his moral compass rather than rational, logical thinking. Even when he knows the results that may risk his wellbeing, he will go against the rational side of his thoughts if it does not follow what he believes is to be right. It doesnโt matter to him if that means he may lose his life in the process, especially when it comes to the people he has grown to trust and love. For them, it doesn't matter how reckless he gets as long as he knows he can keep their well-being out of harm's way. He also seems to hold a strong fear of failure and being left behind, hence his desperate attempt to distance himself from others resulting in his indifferent face and his natural resolution to open up fully to only a selected few. Heโs rarely angered, but that doesnโt mean it leaves his system when it something is constantly irking him. Itโs often bottled up, so whenever heโs upset, youโll never know it until it finally tips over after a long, long time. Something that may be amusing about Jay is that the confident and collected side of his personality will almost immediately crumble and give away into embarrassment whenever he is teased or tricked because he is very gullible, making him an easy target. However, when it comes to pressuring situations or plights, heโs quite collected and will keep himself together - unless he's stuck alone in a well-decorated and convincing haunted house like the one he was forcefully dragged into on a particular trip.
Name: Camille "Cam" Ricci Codename: Tank Gender: Female Age: 31 years old Height: 5'6" Weight: 148 pounds Character Role: The Muscle Extras: Her codename is sort of a play on her role in the group. Her friends in the army called her The Tank and she carried it over to Veil for the fun of it. Her father is Italian and her mother is American and she lived in Italy for only a few months after her birth. They moved to America for unknown reasons and were able to give her a good life. Because of this Cam is fluent in Italian and as well as English. She is proficient with multiple weapons including guns, but she prefers to use her fists or small weapons like daggers and throwing knives.
Physical Description: While Cam might not the most intimidating upon first glance, she can break bones easily. She has an air of confidence (sometimes a smugness) around her that makes up for her lack of intimidation factor. Years of martial arts and boxing training has put firm muscle on her surprisingly lithe arms and legs, and her stomach is flat with an obvious six pack. She has very little visible fat as she is mostly muscle. In every way, she is built to kill and/or maim at the very least. Her body has built up a high tolerance to pain and so she can keep fighting until she literally falls over. Her long, black hair is usually up in a tight bun, a habit that she learned from the army and has yet to break. Her skin is a lovely olive tone and is marred with scars. Her eyes are a stunning green, but flecks of gold litter her eyes. With high cheekbones, plump lips, and long eyelashes, Cam is actually quite pretty. A vicious looking scar runs along the left side of her jaw bone making her look more savage than beautiful however. She usually wears loose fitting clothes, things that are easy to move in if the need arises. Cam never goes outside without her sneakers on her feet and her fingerless combat gloves in her pockets. She wears very little makeup as she doesn't really care about her appearance, though she was little to worry about.
Personality: Cam's years in the army have hardened her in a way that is unexplainable to anyone that has never served. She comes off as cold or odd even to those she doesn't know, but she is actually quite fun to be around. She can be the life of the party if she wants and loves to joke around with close friends and family. However, she does have some symptoms PTSD and on certain days, she has to hole herself up in her room to cope. She is sarcastic and witty, but she isn't the sharpest tool in the box so to say. Since she was so dedicated to her training, she was only an average student in both grade school and college. That doesn't mean that she isn't smart, just not as smart as some. She is extremely loyal and it is hard to earn her trust, but once someone does, he or she is like family to her. She would give her life for her country and her friends without a second thought. She was always the mother bear of her friend group, making sure that none of her friends were messed with. She doesn't tend to be overly emotional, but is prone to fits of anger in high stress situations that don't involve her punching someone. In fact, she feels the most calm in the midst of battle and receives something akin to a high from the situation. She has absolutely no problem with forcing someone to talk, especially if it benefits the mission. Cam is very goal-orientated and does her best work when someone gives her something to strive for. Almost all rebelliousness and stubbornness were beat out of her in the army, making her the perfect subordinate. However, that does not mean that she doesn't have her moments.

Name: Skylar Brennan Codename: Spider Gender: Female Age: 25 years old Height: 6'3" Weight: 150 pounds Character Role: Tech Extras: Her codename comes from how awkwardly tall she is.
