It's super refreshing to not have any Ghost Rules.
The thing is, HarperCollins never explained why they were closing it down- in the official message it said 'technology is changing so we have to too'. The Forums were perfectly popular, btw, so I'm pretty sure it was just about the cost of keeping it running, but it sucks that they didn't give us a real answer. Even a kid can handle the fact that it's too expensive.

i heard it was also because of how bad OTD was getting, and how you couldn't even post a thread on there without someone coming in and "fighting" you.

Silverwind Yeah, the last six months were bad. People were super sensitive, and everyone was obsessed with being rude to each other because apparently "being salty" was the cool thing to do.

I was on OTD a lot, but I never got into any of those fights. I guess I was just.. too thick-skinned? I'd like to say 'responsible', but I'm not very responsible at all -I think it's just that insults roll of me like water off a duck's back. I think that I did have several 'salty' people reply but because I'm from Britain (a.k.a pure sodium) I didn't actually notice probably insulted a few people that way. I think it's chilled out a lot more on these forums now, because it feels a lot less like you're being caged in and a lot more like, if you make a mistake, you'll be able to talk to a real human. plus NO GHOST RULES

Silverwind Basically rules that were never implemented into the official rules, yet they were still rules that the mods enforced. Some examples include a rule banning any discussion of zombies or an apocalyptic situation and a rule saying that your signature had to be four lines or less.

They were rules that weren't actually written down in the guidelines, but we had to follow them anyway. You weren't allowed to discuss them, either (if I remember correctly). This was because HarperCollins wouldn't update the rules list but the mods wanted to have these rules in place anyway.
At one point pictures with any blood/injuries all got deleted- such as any picture of Tigerstar, because he has a scar on his muzzle. Some mods weren't deleting these pictures, because they thought it was okay, whilst others were. Lots of users started posting sarcastic art where they'd edited rainbows and smiley-faces over every scar, which annoyed some other users who liked drawing rainbows and.. yeah. This community fights about a lot of stuff.
