Ashfall watched Flamestar start to get angry. He'd better not attack her, we don't need any trouble just yet, he thought.
Night smiled, "I am Night, and I run things around here. If you want to be in my territory, you'll have to pay the price, just like everyone else."

"I am Flamestar, leader of Flameclan," The orange tom introduced himself. "And I'm afraid we've nothing to give you. We are an independant group and seek no protection or assistance, nor do we serve anyone aside from our warrior ancestors. I offer you a friendship between our two groups in hopes of preventing a future conflict, but no more than that."

Lark lurked at the back of Night's pack of rogues. She wasn't part of it but no one seemed to notice. Perhaps Night was the only one who had a brain, no wonder she controlled them with such ease. Lark scanned the 'FlameClan' cats with her fiery amber eyes. Friendship? Hah! That Flamestar was probably lying, if not Night wasn't one to make alliances.

Night rolled her eyes.Warrior ancestors? she thought. These cat must be insane. "I think you misunderstand, you don't give us your prey for help, you give us your prey so we don't hurt you," she said, keeping her voice as steady as if she was talking about the weather. "And your group is verdging on our limits for family sizes, I'd advise you split up, or we'll have to do it for you."

Lark crouched lower to the ground and bared her teeth to show the group was serious. Did these cats really want to test them? If 'BlazeClan' didn't comply up they would loose more than some measly pieces of prey. Lark's glossy pelt bristled and her eyes blazed. This she-cat wasn't afraid of blood.

Flamestar eyed the she-cat warily, as if he expected her to order her followers to attack at a moment's notice. "And what if we refuse your offer?" He questioned.

Blazepelt stood beside Flamestar. He flexed his claws at the she-cat's words but stayed calm and forboding by his father's side.
Firepool stood behind her father, off to the side a little. Her fur started to bristle at the cat's words but she calmed herself knowing they should avoid a fight if they could.

(I'm sick, so I might respond slowly. Just a notice.)
Leafwhisker padded into the warriors' den and curled up in her nest. She tried to fall asleep, though her mind wandered off to the patrol at the new territory. What will Flamestar decide to do with the land? she wondered.

Night chuckled, "I don't think you really want to do that." She padded closer to Flamestar circling their group, "I can do unthinkable things to you and your friends if you don't comply to our standards."
Ashfall looked at the she-cat, stifling a growl. "We wouldn't dare give you a morsel of our prey, lazy rogue!" he snarled.

Flamestar barred the way with his tail as a signal to ashfur not to attack. "Would it be alright with you if you gave us a few days to think about it?" He questioned. "You must understand that it's a huge decision. All we ask for is a few days to think things over."

Ashfall stepped back, a snarl on his face. Flamestar should've clawed her right across the face, that would've shut her up.
Night purred, "Very well, if you need some time, but just know that it's surrender or die for you, I won't tolerate any disobedience." She turned away from the group and sashayed back to her camp.

Blazepelt watched the rouges go. He hoped Flamestar had a plan.
Firepool turned to Flamestar with a surprised look. After the cats had disappeared she meowed, "How could you even consider her demands?"

"There's no way I'd actually comply to that load of fox-dung, but we were sorrily outnumbered." Flamestar meowed defensively. "That was the only way I saw to get out of that confrontation that didn't end with our pelts being ripped off. I may go out here alone and attempt to figure out how many cats she actually has, ask around, spy on their camp, that sort of thing before we do anything. I don't want to agree to do her bidding as much as any of you do, but if the clan is outnumbered to the point that we cannot hope of winning, we may be forced to."

Did the patrol find anything? Leafwhisker wondered. Since her thoughts kept wandering, she was too restless to get any sleep. The she-cat stood up and padded to the entrance of the den. She scanned the camp, not seeing much activity. As her gaze landed on the entrance of camp, an idea sprung to her mind, Maybe it would be nice to go on a walk.

Eaglepaw turned over in his nest, he hated being stuck in the medicine den. He looked over to Cloverleaf, who was checking on Pebblepaw. I'm sure she wouldn't mind me just getting a breath of fresh air, he thought, slyly. He stalked behind Cloverleaf, and ever-so-quietly tiptoed out to camp. He had barely decided where to go when he saw Leafwhisker padding outside. I wonder where he's going.

Out of the corner of her vision, Leafwhisker spotted Eaglepaw standing outside of the medicine cat den. Did he get hurt? What if he fell ill? Leafwhisker wondered, curious as to why the apprentice was by the medicine den. Wanting to know what was up with her clanmate, Leafwhisker decided to put her walk on hold and talk to Eaglepaw.
Turning her head towards the medicine cat den, Leafwhisker padded over to Eaglepaw. "Hello," she mewed, stopping next to the apprentice.

"Shh, quiet! I don't want Goldshine to hear and send me back to the medicine den, it's so boring in there," he whispered. "Where you going for a walk, I'd like to go hunting, at least to get out of here."
"A cat like that deserves a good beating," Ashfall snorted. "I'd like to get back to camp so we can show them FlameClan might as soon as possible."

"The good news is," Flamestar meowed optimistically, "Is that we have not seen anything of the rogues within our own borders, which may mean that they won't try to claim control over us just yet. If we can avoid them until we have a few more cats and our current apprentices become warriors, we should have the strength to beat them."

"As do we all." Flamestar agreed. "But it is better to wait and prepare then to launch ourselves into battle unaware of our opponent's numbers. With the way that she-cat treats others, I wouldn't be surprised if a few cats changed sides if they think the rogues will lose. We may even get a few refugees seeking shelter from her abusive rule."

"That's true," meowed Blazepelt, "I bet some of them would seek refuge, though I bet we could take them our warriors are strong."
Firepool calmed her temper, "Fine but I'm coming with you. I'm one of the best scouts we have."

"The only reason I'm even thinking about going is because I have the advantage of surprise." Flamestar meowed. "If something goes wrong and I get ambushed by the rogues, there's a chance that, in the possibility that I can't escape, they may decide to leave me because they think I'm dead. I still have eight lives, which, in my opinion, is a lot more expendable than the life of one of our warriors."

"You and Blazepelt are as stealthy as a monster," meowed Firepool, "And what happens if your attacked alone and can't escape. We never know what's happened to you? And do we need these cats finding out you have more lives? The leader is not expendable."
Blazepelt adored his sister's spunk, but it had often gotten her in trouble as an apprentice. He did hope his father would bring someone with him though, it seemed smarter for a pair to go than one cat alone.

Leafwhisker was curious as to why Eaglepaw had been sent to the medicine cat's den. He doesn't look injured. Is he ill? she wondered worriedly. "Why were you sent to Cloverleaf, anyways?" Leafwhisker asked, lowering her voice.

Letting out a long sigh, Flamestar relented. "Fine. You can come, but under one circumstance. If things go awry, you need to get yourself to safety as fast as you can. Don't worry about me or whether I get out, just go. This mission is of the utmost importance, as we need to know what we're up against, so if something doesn't go as planned, get to camp or we will risk two deaths and the complete failure of this mission."

(It could be interesting to have Eaglepaw have a concussion.) "I think Blazepelt should come back with me, three cats are too many for a stealth mission. I can head back to camp, and get the rest of our warriors ready to defend if the rogues find our camp," Ashfall stated.
"I hit my head hard on a tree at the fox attack, but I'm fine but, my head just hurts," Eaglepaw responded.

(PET PEEVES!!! Cats are incapable of getting concussions like that because, unlike humans, cats and dogs have a brain that is attached, not completely floating in liquid like ours. A concussion is caused by the brain coming into contact with the skull. It's fine if you wanna do that for the R.P. but just thought I'd share something interesting.)

Leafwhisker was concerned when she heard the apprentice mention a fox attack. Hopefully it got chased off of our territory, Leafwhisker thought, deciding to keep it in the back of her head unless someone mentioned it. "Does it still hurt?" Leafwhisker asked, "If so, then I advise you get some rest."

"Not too much, I just want to get out of here. I've got too much energy to sit around all day," Eaglepaw said. "I'm sure just a short hunt won't hurt me."
