CHAPTER 4 THE GOLDEN IS MURDERED
Shamro woke up on his mat. A knocking sound was on his door. “Come in.” He said loudly. Shamko, Shamro’s younger brother, whom was also the Silver, padded in. “ Shamro… I came to tell you that Golden Shomero has passed on.” Shamko’s voice was thick with grief. Shomero, the former Golden, was also the brothers’ father. Shamro was stunned. “How….? Why…?!” He snarled. “He was in perfect health just yesterday. How did he die??!!” Shamro snarled at his brother. “Me…thinks … father died because….s-s-someone m-m-murdered h-h-him...” Shamko stammered, frightened at his brother rage and frustration. Shamro flicked his black tail and barged past Shamko, heading for where he heard weeps and snuffles. Zemero and his brother, Nekro, a dark grey with a dark red tail-tip male wolf was crouching beside Shomero’s bloodied body. The wolf brothers howled out an old ancient wolf song for the dead.
Go swiftly,
Great ol’ chieftain.
For thy shall suffer
No more pain or agony.

Nekro and Zemero finished the song before padding back a few paces for more GOLDENSPEAR members to grieve over the late Golden. Just then, a sleek light brown she-wolf padded over, her golden earring shining in the powerful sunlight. Her unusually long tail was bent low to the ground. She crouched down and the light in her eyes seemed to drift….far, far away. Nekro stared at her, hypnotized. Zemero seemed to be transfixed to the ground, until Shamro nudged him. “Wh-What?” Zemero snapped. Shamro looked taken aback. “I-I was just saying that either one of you should be the Golden.” Shamro stammered. He followed Zemero’s gaze and it had rested on the light bown she-wolf. Zemero suddenly murmured, “ It can’t be… The legendary Senei…..” He sighed before padding back to his room, with Nekro following, eyes angry.

CHAPTER 5“THE SILVER IS MURDERED!”
Zemero woke. A pungent scent hit his nose. A stuffy and poisonous scent. Shamro bounded up to Zemero’s room, 3 stairs at a time. “Zemero, someone’s dead.” Zemero widened his eyes. “DEAD?! AGAIN?!” He yelped, his breath caught in his throat. “Yes.” Shamro replied. Nekro burst into the room. “Let’s go.” He snapped before putting his nose to the ground, sniffing out where the scent was coming from. “Hold on. I’ll catch up on you guys later.” Zemero informed Shamro. Shamro nodded, turning away. Zemero looked at the stairs. Just yesterday, he had applied cement for anti-slip purposes. Now, as he looked down- to his horror- saw pawprints. Pawprints of another fox. It could only mean one thing. This fox was the killer of Shomero, the Golden. Zemero ran towards the group. Upon seeing the group standing outside the Silver, Shamko’s room, his breath caught in his throat. “It can’t- It can’t be…..” Shamro’s choked voice echoed across the lonely and silent corridor. Zemero padded to the group. In Shamko’s room, lay Shamko’s bloodied body. His glazed eyes stared emptily at the grey ceiling, as lifeless as his body.
“ Shamro, when I checked the cement for anti-slip I had coated on yesterday, I found a fox’s pawprints.” Shamro’s ears pricked. “Nekro, you’ll be the Golden for now. I need to lure this serial killer elsewhere and fulfill the prophecy, with Zemero, Autumn and Senei.” “Senei will stay.” Nekro bared his teeth angrily. “No way. She’s coming with us.” Zemero snarled back. Nekro unsheathed his claws. “That’s ENOUGH!” Shamro snarled. “Senei will be coming with us. She’s a good fighter anyway.” Nekro growled under his breath before stalking away. Shamro set Shamko’s body before the Main Hall. Many had gathered to grieve.
Zemero rose into a song that he had created right at the moment. He howled to the early dawn sky, howling from deep in his heart, the howl represented the true heart-felt words in his heart.
Rise,
Thy spirit of the greatest warrior,
I’ve ever known.
May thy spirit be claimed,
By the heavenly stars in the night sky.
Never to suffer,

Zemero ended the song and went out to toil a darkly coated silver slab of rock for Shamko’s grave in the Great Cemetery, specially made in a shady corner of GOLDENSPEAR’s Cemetery for the Goldens, Silvers and Bronzes. He flicked out a short carving knife and began inscribing Shamko’s name on the slab of rock carefully and delicately.
