Aurinda was sitting outside the barracks of the Elites, repairing a bit of her armor, a loose strap that had broken. It was a simple fix and something she could easily do on her own without asking a maid or footboy to do so. The rest of her armor sat near to her, planning to shine and clean it all after she'd finished with the strap. Her hair was pulled back into a ponytail and a few strands drifted down into her face as she worked. She wore the typical clothing she would beneath her armor, a pair of simple black pants and a loose white shirt with a red undershirt beneath that. As she worked at redoing the strap she hummed quietly to herself, having not bothered to sit in the barracks were a few of the younger Elites were arguing about some trivial topic. It sounded like Everan and Hathor from their voices. A light smile flickered to her lips and she laughed lightly as Everan's voice roared a bit and then went back to normal. Her focus back on the armor she finally managed to pull the strip through and then took to stitching it to itself with a thick string before attaching the buckle.

Caelum blinked in surprise and then nodded, "A man of many talents then." he chimed back as he followed close to the king, "I, myself, am a light elemental ontop of everything else." he laughed lightly and then looked to Kaiser, admiring the bit of pride that surged in his voice and in his posture. It was admirable to have such love for one's country, but he was the king so it was somewhat required of him. Caelum felt nothing for Asiralath. Truly, Caelum called neither country his home, he was born to them but did not belong to them. It was the one envy Caelum had of others, above all else. He would never admit to that though. Caelum fell silent now and simply moved alongside Kaiser, glancing to the king every now and then just to analyze him, as he was prone to doing. 'Is that so?' Kaiser asked, smiling at him warmly. 'That's quite a rare talent to possess, definitely something to be proud of.' He praised him, eyebrows arched. 'My mother was a light elemental. It's just unfortunate her talents never passed down to her sons.' He smiled sadly and glanced down. Kaisers mother had been a princess of Varezi, the youngest sister to four brothers, sickly, frail, and blind. But his father had cared for her and loved her as he might a husband until her last days- she'd passed away when Kaiser had been only 8. He still remembered Azaya's sweet smile and her gentle touch with dainty, slight hands. He'd take them often and kiss her knuckles with reverence. Kaiser had loved his parents above all else- his wonderfull, tiny mother, and her soft sing-song voice that always promised comfort and love- his father Manse, with his jolly outlook on life despite his own long life being filled with heartbreak, pain, and so much death. His laughter had still been the loudest in the room, the deep boom thenost infectuous, and he had been so happy on his deathbed that Kaiser had cried: not with despair, but relief at finally seeing a true smile of happiness on his fathers face. Kaiser sucked in a sharp breath as emotions strained suddenly to overwhelm him, and he swiped tears from his eyes quickly and walked a little faster. 'Weird it well.' He managed to say, before swallowing thickly. Soon they had arrived at the mountain pass, and Kaiser felt relief at having had no trouble so far. He didn't doubt, however, that the temples defences would cause him quite some damage.

Convel paused, before stepping back to allow the now-beta to stand. He trotted over to his pack to embrace old friends and members, before curiously greeting the few New with a friendly sniff. Finally he turned to look at Akantha and Illiana, whom had been there to offer their support. He walked over to them and butted his head against Akantha's. Thankyou, Alpha Akantha. Thankyou, Illiana. he butted heads with her too, then stepped back. we should investigate the new scents before they infiltrate the super pack.Illiana breathed a sigh of relief and threw her arms around Convel in a surprise hug of joy -- so happy he'd survived and thrived. "Well done," she murmured "you were...very good," she said, still struggling for words as she'd ever been. Akantha's congratulations were more reserved. She dipped her head low in respect, but huffed slightly are you sure we can't just kill him? she asked. "If you say so..." He said, sitting down at the table. He looked at the food that had been set out, then pulled a face and pushed the plate away. He sighed, then looked at Iona, frowning slightly, before he looked at Katherine. "Am I right in saying that I heard talk of an alliance with the Crystal Isle?" He asked. Caristona ended up smiling and laughing at the demons -- not trusting him, but trusting the Demoare family quite a bit. She dipped her head low at Aiden's presence and murmured "your majesty," in greeting. As soon as he mentioned the alliance she could tell he was apprehensive -- and right to be so, the crystal Isles had been enemies until a few days ago. "Yes, yes your majesty," Caristonia said, standing up. "I'll be as blunt as I can about this -- Valare's trying to kill me. She's using Daniel to do it, but it's all her," Iona's face darkened, she looked down as she remembered the past. "That woman has been treating me, my family and my country as her sh*tter from day one and I don't want it anymore! I want independence for the Crystal Isles!" she declared and then circled round the table until she could look the King directly in the eye. "Every shipment of magical crystals the Zale'ish get will be cut off and given to you -- free of charge. You can get my troops, my armies...but I need you to give me some of yours, as soon as Daniel is out the way. So we can take the fight to Zale'mas, because it's assured they won't give up the Isles without a fight" [[#indyref]] Sisko glared at his back, and then at Akantha and Illiana, before slinking away to fix his jaw and then lick his wounds. It appeared that he wouldn't be one of the friendlier of the wolves, unlike Za'rai. Akantha glared back, snarling as she was backed up by a few of her beta's. Her fighting pack had grown in the past year. She now numbered 34 fighters, and hoped Sisko knew it. You would never have got as much mercy off of me you little mutt! she spat. Akantha, if you could possibly reserve your anger and insults towards one of my pack members, I would appreciate it. Convel politely said, defending the young pup calmly. I can handle him and myself just fine without need for your intervention. he nodded his head at her, then looked at his pack to communicate that they would be joining the superpack in order to wrestle freedom from the howling forest. The pack looked excited and eager to agree, and followed him when he started to run back, strength blazing in his now-red eyes, which reflected the fact he was an alpha. --- 'Yes, this is an alliance.' Katherine politely responded, then sat in an awkward silence as Caristonia spouted her wishes. 'I wish I could share your passion, Caristonia, as both Oceana and Varezi have fought viciously for independence in the past- but those times are long gone and exist now in storybooks.' 'With fire, justice is served!' Lucifer excitedly exclaimed, throwing out his arms and making an explosion noise. Shadows shot up from the floor to create the Varezian bay, blazing with flames, with two figurines entwined in the centre of it all, swords through each other's chests, slowly being engulfed by the flames. Katherine smiled warmly- the story of the first king of Varezi enthralled Lucifer, as they shared the same name, except the first kings had been spelt differently- Lucifari. Shaking her head, she looked at Caristonia. 'Clearly, my son wishes to help.' She chuckled. 'Don't worry, Iona dear.' She gently said, also standing and moving over to her. 'The Isles will receive the aid that it requires. You will have your independence if we have to wrestle it from Valare's dead hands.'

Caelum listened quietly and chuckled gently with a nod to Kaiser, "It is well and good to use, though I wish it were something more bound like earth." he told him lightly. His eyes flickered toward Kaiser after that and he caught the small hint of tears and the quickened pace after the moment. Keeping easy pace behind him, his eyes moved up towards the mountains that lined either side of the pass and he felt a knot in his stomach and gritted his teeth a bit, "Something does not sit right about this place." he murmured to Kaiser as they began through the pass, his eyes ever swivelling and he pushed his hood down now to hear things around him a bit better. They were nearing the temples now and Caelum felt that pit remain as they continued onward.

She threaded the needle a few more times, pricking herself once and cursing softly before finishing it off and snapping off the extra thread. Then she looked back up at Ulfric and arched her brow lightly, "Too crowded in there for you?"

Kaiser murmured in return, a shiver running up his spine. As an Ancientblood, he had a stronger sense for danger- and right now, he was overwhelmed by it. 'We can do this.' He growled, determination palpable. He had to do this- for Roewen. For his people. He would not stop. He began to climb up the pass, listening warily as the life seemed to fade out of the place, leaving only the lifeless silence of the rocky Stone Mountain and the rumble of the storm above them. They passed a burnt, lightning struck tree, and Kaiser shuddered- it was split down the middle, and in between the prongs, sat a skull. 'A warning.' He said, fearfully, looking up at the temple. 'An omen of death.' He ran a hand through his hair, hesitated for only a moment- and then continued to walk. He wasn't giving up before they'd tried. 'We can do this.'

Caelum followed behind him, the fear now getting to his heart and causing his pulse to race a bit more. At the sight of the tree he clenched his jaw and pushed past it, wanting not to look at the dreaded thing anymore. His eyes flickered upward towards the peak ahead of them, their goal. It was close and he felt, for once, like he was somewhere he ought not to be at all. Like something was angry the two of them were there. Pushing away the thought Caelum nodded, "A thief and a king, who could stand a chance again us." he encouraged Kaiser lightly, though his voice had lost the light-heartedness it held before while they were in the jungle. "I don't believe you ever told me what exactly it is I will be stealing once we get there, Kaiser." he added lightly, lowering his voice a bit as if there were ears to hear what he was saying, he moved up to Kaiser's side, as much as he could be it the path was getting slimmer than before.

Aiden looked at Katherine, slightly irked at the fact that she was in control; since he didn't have his titles at the moment, and she did, she was the one who made the decisions. He then turned to look at Lucifer, his 'son'....he didn't even know the boy. He then blinked slowly, before looking back at Katherine again, remembering how she had told him that she was infirtile. She's just taking every chance... He let out a quiet breath, before leaning back in his seat. Although he hated to admit it, every decision she made was for the good of Varezi. Ulfric emerged from the barracks to take a breather. The air inside there was stifling when it was full. He stood and stretched, taking in a deep breath, before letting it out and looking around. "Along with the current amount of drinking because of Morcan's return, I'm slightly worried they won't be able to stand up by tomorrow." He shook his head and sighed, before letting out a laugh. "Sometimes, I really do wonder why you joined us; we're all idiots really." He sat down next to her and leant back slightly, examining her from the corner of his eye.

Aurinda laughed lightly as she slid the buckle onto the strap and tightened it and fixed it into place. Then she turned to him and arched her brow lightly, "Are you saying you don't enjoy me here with you?" she teased lightly, flashing him a mischievous grin and a teasing look. Then she leaned over and set the pauldron she'd been working on to the ground with the rest of her armor. She sat back up and stretched her arms above her head a bit and then sighed and leaned back as well, crossing her arms over her chest and crossing her legs.

Kaiser offered Caelum a wide grin, something his father had often done to calm nerves- show on the outside you were calmer than your men, and they'd put their trust in you and calm down as well. He nodded at his question. 'I believe you're trying to steal a necklace.' He said. 'It should be glowing strangely, and the pendant should be that of a mountain.' He stopped outside of the temple and frowned at the 'doors'- instead of a lock or handles, they were pure stone slabs, with an indent in the centre of each- one side had spiralling crevices streaking out from the centre, and the other was more formal, with straight lines. On it, the two floating islands were depicted- Roewen painted surrounded by blue storms, Asiralath bathed in warm sun. Frowning, Kaiser began to think. '... bend light into the left crevice and hold it there.' Kaiser said, taking up place in front of the right. He began to summon electricity, pulling it deep from his gut by sliding his hands outwards, before he pointed with three fingers for greater control, and released a beam of crackling electricity into his crevice, a continuous lightning bolt.

Caelum caught the smile and couldn't help but relax a bit and nodded in return. "A necklace." he muttered lightly in response, "A prize for a woman in your life or another treasure for your vault?" he inquired lightly as they reached the doors and he looked upon the slabs silently a moment. His eyes trailing over the patterns traced along the stone slabs. He recognized Asiralath and Roewen immediately and glanced towards Kaiser and stepped out of his way to let the King solve the puzzle himself. At the order to direct the light Caelum nodded and began to do so, beams of golden light streaking from his palms and towards the door and into the crevice. They illuminated everything around them and shed a warm glow onto the door and the stone surrounding it. His eyes flickered towards Kaiser, watching in admiration and awe as he directed a bolt of lighting towards the other crevice. It was rather fantastic to see really.

As the year had passed his affections had grown for the other wolf, and Convel had often found himself going out of his way to interact with him. --- Katherine smiled warmly at Iona's reaction, then looked away at her words. She approached Aiden and slid the crown from her head, before leaning up and gently placing it upon his head, her gaze soft and friendly as she gazed up at him. 'I signed the credentials and forms this morning.' She said, her voice gently. 'Varezi is yours, My King. You can handle this stuff better than I.' With that, she placed a hand on Iona's shoulder. 'You have my sword, Iona. I will send the demon to the Isles now.' She nodded at the creature, and it melted into a puddle of shadows on the floor, before disappearing.

'I don't have a woman in my life and I deeply hope I never will.' Kaiser drily replied, before tending when he realised what he had just confessed to the thief, shocked at himself- nobody knew, not even Clyde, and he'd just openly admitted it to a stranger. Sh*t, whys I do that? he thought to himself, feeling panic flare in his chest and fear on his expression. The slabs of rock made a rough grinding noise as they separated and slid into the walls of the temple, revealing the dark entrance inside.

Caelum blinked a moment and then glanced to Kaiser and flashed him a reassuring smile, "Women, in my opinion, are too much trouble anyway." he told him with a nod before turning to face the entrance, "All they do is steal from your treasures and leave to turn you in for a bounty." he added a bit bitterly before taking a small step towards the entrance. So the king was gay? An interesting fact to keep in the back of his mind, and perhaps a bit exciting. It was terribly dark and Caelum lit a small ball of light into his hands and began towards extremely carefully. His eyes scanned the walls for any holes for projectiles, then to the floor for crumbling tiles or trip wires, then to the ceiling for anything that might fall from above. His movements were slowly and smooth and he glanced back to Kaiser after barely two steps. "Now is where you follow me, track my footsteps exactly and keep your arms close to your body." he instructed. The Caelum he had just seen was now replaced with the Basilisk, the thief of legend and the crook to steal all precious things.

((Night night honey xx))
Kaiser seemed to relax at Caelum's words and managed a smile at what he said, before curiously examining the man, wondering just how many had hurt him. He did as he was told, folding his arms across his chest and silently following in Caelum's footsteps. A hollow clanking noise echoed through the halls, and then silence. He warily listened but no other sounds followed. 'Must've been the door mechanics.' He murmured, not sure if he believed his own words, but deeply hoping that he was correct anyways. He found himself admiring the change in the thief- it reminded him of himself. The King of Roewen and Kaiser Terell were two very different people. He examined him curiously as they walked, wondering why he'd gone into thieving for a living, and why he was still thieving at his age.

(Goodnight Lily, sleep tight!)
Caelum moved carefully and kept his eyes moving across the entirety of the hall. Then he stopped and stood up straight a moment, his eyes fixed on the floor just ahead of them and he tipped his head lightly to the side a moment. It seemed, to the naked eye, there was nothing there. Then, slowly, Caelum lowered himself to a crouch and reached out his hand and soon the soft outline of a wire was visible and he chuckled lightly, "Wonder what it does..." he murmured thoughtfully. Then his eyes flickered back towards Kaiser and he remembered he couldn't be as reckless as usual. Had he been alone he would have cut the wire and seen what it triggered. Looking back ahead of them, he rose back up, "Wire to trigger a crumbling floor." he told Kaiser lightly as he carefully stepped over it and waited for Kaiser to the do the same as well. His eyes flicking up to meet Kaiser's for a moment before flashing a smile to him and nodding. Turning back ahead he checked everything once more and pointed at a few tiles on the ground, "You see how some sit lower in the floor than others? Those are the ones that are set and safe." he told him simply before going onward, his steps certain and set with each movement. "The crumbling ones sit higher because they are on a thin platform or rope that would have been cut when we triggered the wire. We wouldn't have known until we were standing on top of them, and my guess is that there are spikes or something beneath to thusly kill whoever triggered the trap in the first place." he went on to explain easily, as if it were a simple topic like the alphabet.

Kaiser carefully followed in Caelum's footsteps, then listened with interest as he explained how the trap worked, and how to identify it. 'Ah, I see.' He nodded, smiling lightly at him. As they turned a corner, he tensed, seeing a suit of purple armour at the end of the corridor. He nervously narrowed his eyes to see it better, then sucked in a sharp breath of fear as glowing green orbs appeared where eyes should be, and the armour began to march forewards. 'Oni,' he said with fear, before shakily stepping forwards and pushing Caelum behind him. 'Allow me.' He said, sliding conviction into his tone. He removed his knives and filled them with a surge of electricity, before swinging them around skilfully and launching them at the monster. It blocked with its greatsword and released something akin the the growl of a bear. 'Oh, Ancients.' He breathed, allowing it to approach him, before raising his knives to fight it off.
After a good fifteen minutes of warring with the monster, Kaiser struck a knife through where the soul of a human is- the armour shuddered, released a horribly grating death scream, and then fell into pieces on the floor. Breathing heavily, Kaiser leapt against a wall to catch his breath, hands on his knees. It had certainly matched his own great strength, and he found himself grateful he was an Ancientblood.

Caelum blinked and then was suddenly behind Kaiser. He watched quietly as the two fought and would duck and move as necessary. He couldn't quite believe the strength and capability of the king and found himself suddenly fearing him, knowing if they were to get into a fight, Caelum would lose his life in a matter of moments. The oni itself was impressive as well and he couldn't quite keep himself from being so distracted by the battle that he'd forget to move from the way of the sword the oni held. When the battle was finally over and Kaiser stepped back to take a breath and recover, Caelum was to his side. He put a hand lightly to his shoulder and waited a moment or two before speaking, "That was magnificent Kaiser." he told him sincerely, a smile on his lips before offering a hand to help him stand up straight. "How do you feel?" he inquired lightly, arching his brow and glancing him over to check the man for injuries before back to his eyes.

Aiden relaxed greatly as he placed the crown atop his head again, and found himself glad to have it returned to him. He stood from where he sat, and bowed his head to Iona, before moving to stand by the window. "You can begin bringing the supplies to us with immediately effect...or when you can." He paused and looked back at her, blinking slowly since he didn't know the Crystal Isle' naval capabilities. "My soldiers will work with yours to bring the crystals to a safe location."

Kaiser blushed at the praise and touched the wound on his hip lightly, feeling the blood. 'I'll be fine.' He said, straightening up and smiling almost shyly at the man, before looking down the corridor. 'Your turn again.' He said, smiling with humour gleaming in his eyes. 'Take the lead, thief.' He was truly nervous that there was going to be more of those things- his only comfort was he at least knew how to kill them now, and so each fight wouldn't take an exhausting amount of time.

(Goodnight Night!)
Caelum noted the wound but nodded as Kaiser assured him, "Alright, let's get going then." he replied simply as he turned back and moved over the scattered purple armor. They turned yet another corner and Caelum blinked a moment and halted immediately. There was something off, that was for certain but as he looked about the room he couldn't find what it was. "Something's not right about this one..." he trailed off. Caelum opened his palms again and shown some more light down the hallway and then spotted what it was and sighed softly. Small slits in the walls that had barely been visible in the darkened corridors. No doubt the housed blades. Out of curiosity Caelum suddenly laid himself to the ground and then checked the distance and shook his head, "No good." he muttered to himself. He looked to the floor then and spotted what would start the trap and nodded, a small stone that would push in when stepped on and start the blades. His eyes flicked up to gauge the distance between each blade, enough for one person if they stood very still. After a moment of thought he turned to face Kaiser. "I am going to trigger this trap. Blades will swing from the walls. There is room enough between each blade for one person, therefore you must follow behind me and leap on your own timing." he instructed simply. He glanced back towards the hall then a moment, "It looks like...." a moment of silence while he counted, "seven blades in total. Stay calm, breath, keep your limbs close to you body, and take your time." Then Caelum turned and stepped on the stone. A loud groaning was heard and then inches before Caelum the first blade came roaring out, then began the rest of them. It was rather a sight to see and after two swings of the first, Caelum moved quickly and stood between them. "Just remember what I told you and be extremely careful please!" he called, not daring to turn to look over his shoulder. With that he moved to the next one. Truly, all one had to do was remain calm and go when the timing was right, a bit like jumping rope or double dutch. if you wished to think that way.

Kaiser's eyes widened at the blades, and he hissed and flinched whenever Caelum would make a jump. He waited for the thief to get to safety, before stepping forwards on shaky legs. Father, give me strength. he thought, referring to his Ancient parent. He sucked in a deep breath, then began to move, timing the blades to ensure he wouldn't return home in little pieces. He moved swiftly and steadily, before finally he joined Caelum in safety. Panting lightly, he offered the thief a shaky grin, hiding his trembling hands. 'Do that often?' He jokingly asked, straightening up and gazing down the new corridor. 'I feel like we're close.' He quietly murmured, feeling the tug of the artefact.
