A lone, cloaked figure rode down a quiet forest path. As moonlight filtered through the trees, it struggled to illuminate the man and his strong sorrel horse. The horse's saddle was dark but worn, damaged by years of use. The man upon the horse made a disquieting image. His cloak appeared black in the night, as if the man had been wrapped in shadows. All that could be seen underneath the hood was a rough, scraggly beard.

Twenty one, twenty two, twenty three...
Yana cackled to herself as she dropped the last coin into her purse. She'd been shadowing that merchant for weeks, and finally it had paid off. Twenty three silver shekels. Enough to buy her passage to the next town at least -- perhaps even a place on a ship if she could get to the harbour without being clocked. After all, any bounty hunter worth their salt would want to take her head back to some rich idiot she'd stolen from.
Being a wanted woman, she'd learned to detect the sound of impending danger. And anyone riding on horseback could be a potential threat. Quickly she pulled her hood over her blonde hair and pulled the dagger out from between the ridges of her bosoms peeking over the top of her corset.
The figure on the horse was soon approaching, highlighted only by the silver-kissed moon.
"Back off, creepy," she said once he was in hearing range. "This road is mine."
