A jump-in is where people can just join the roleplay with character and start roleplaying, and a 1 on 1 is a small roleplay with 2 people. 1 on 1s are usually kept in private messages so that the forum isn't clogged up.

To be honest, "how are you" is just a silly thing to start with. I mean, there are only two ways it can go, really. 95% of the time, it will just be "I'm good" or something like that. The other 5% is something that you can actually continue a conversation about, but chances are that it's most likely going to be something negative.

Yep. Most of the time when someone asks me "how are you", I normally respond with "I'm good" even if I'm not feeling all that great.

Yeeeaah. What do you even say after that? "Oh, you're good? That's good."
"How are you" is probably one of the worst sentences for starting conversations, yet it's probably the most common. Kind of weird tbh.
