"Oh indeed, Victoria here actually delivered her. It's actually a funny story, you should have seen Victoria's face, she looked utterly terrified when—" Victoria quickly interrupted saying in a softly voice, "We should probably be heading to the carriages, we can't be late on the first day." Remus studied Silver, quite proud whenever she mentioned quidditch, he often found himself focused on her during the matches; she was bloody brilliant. "I guess Victoria is right. It was good to see you Hagrid." Remus said, nodding politely at the half giant who smiled at the group. "Don't be involving any of the animals in yer pranks this year, ye hear me? One of the singing roads still can't stop rapping those muggle songs."

Sirius snorted and burst out laughing, quickly taking Silver's hand and leading them towards the carriages. Both their smiled wavered as their gazes settled on the Thestrals. Silver lowered her eyes as she climbed into the carriage, reaching behind her to gently pet the back of one of them. Sirius smiled at her comfortingly, before looking back up at the others as they all piled in, the banter continuing on their way up to the school.

Pulling a packaged out of her cloak pocket, Victoria murmured a hello to one of the thestral before feeding her a small steak. Climbing in, she crumpled the paper and tucked it away before staring down at her feet as the others spoke. Remus was lucky enough to not be able to see a thestral, although he was always curious as to what they looked like. "Silver, if you don't mind me asking, what do they look like? The thestrals." Of course he had known Sirius could see them, and had noticed Victoria feed one, but he wanted to ask Silver. He always enjoyed her.

Silver looked up at his question, then turned to examine the thestral. 'They're like horses.' She said. 'Skeletal, I suppose; very bony beneath their skin. They have large, beautiful wings, leathery. Black coats, sunken eyes that range in colour but are normally brown.' She looked back at Remus and offered him a soft smile. 'I'm sorry I can't describe them better; maybe I could go out tomorrow, and I'll draw one for you.' Silver had a way with art; she had little luck in some of her more intellectual lessons, but excelled in the more creative, sporty, or physical sides of things. Sirius and Remus more than made up for what she missed in A History of Magic or Muggle studies. She excelled in Transfirguration- as they all did- in DADA, Astrology, Care of Magical Creatures and Quidditch, and finally Potions, but everything else was a cr*pshoot.

"Thestrals can only be seen by people who have seen someone dying and fully accepted, understood and internalised the concept. They are very rare, and are considered dangerous by the Ministry of Magic. Thestrals are, undeservedly, known as omens of misfortune and aggression by many wizards because they are visible only to those who have witnessed death at least once or due to their somewhat grim, gaunt and ghostly appearance." Victoria recited offhandedly, staring down at her fingers. "Newt Scamander describes them as completely fleshless, with black coats clinging to their skeletons, of which every bone is visible. Their heads are dragon-like, and their pupil-less eyes white and staring. Wings sprout from each wither — vast, black leathery wings that look as though they ought to belong to giant bats. Standing still and quiet in the gathering gloom, these creatures look eerie and sinister." Tilting her head to look at the creatures she said, "Well actually, they're quite sweethearts, their appearance just gives them the bad reputation among the wizarding community." Remus nodded, his eyes wide at the two girl's descriptions of the invisible beast, quite used to Victoria's exceedingly peculiar talent at recalling even the most useless of facts.

Silver seemed a little irked that Victoria had pushed into her conversation with Remus, and especially since her explanation had far, far beaten down Silver's, however only the marauders would really be able to notice her agitation. Sirius smiled at her and raised an eyebrow, and she sulkily stuck her tongue out at him, turning her head to watch the castle approach. Well- time for a new school year, full of.... she didn't know quite what yet, but she hoped she could at least have fun. She and Sirius had been fighting increasingly more lately, but it was all due to what was happening in their lives back at home; they were both purebloods from eccentrically pureblood families, and had overheard their parents talking about 'betrothal.' Silver suspected this year might go much worse than expected, and was already expecting Sirius to walk out in the following summer. She severely hoped what they were thinking wouldn't come true, as although they were closer than anyone else in the marauders, they were best friends; they'd already established that trying to get it on with each other would just be weird. So they had their strange little friendship, which the others had just stopped questioning by now and were slowly getting dragged into regardless. James had already begun to stop reacting whenever Silver would plop herself down in his lap, or randomly walk over to fix his uniform. They were all very comfortable with each other, and now silver found herself hoping that Victoria would find a place among their mish-mashed friendship group.

Victoria noticed Silver's annoyance almost immediately, noticing things kept you safe, and made a quickly mental note to keep her facts to herself, and never interrupt Silver. Busting herself with her hair, she began to braid small strands of her hair and hummed the tune to a muggle song she had overhead earlier that morning. Keeping her eyes on her feet, she tried to let her thoughts consume her but was overaware of all the people sitting beside her and began to overthink everything she did, becoming nervous. Had interrupting Silver gone too far?
Remus on the other hand was smiling, quite comfortable amongst his friends. His summer had been quite ordinary, well as ordinary as a wizard/werewolf's life could be. He'd spent countless days trying to write Silver the perfect letter but often came up empty handed. When he finally did send her an owl, he immediately regretted it, afraid his friendliness had been too strong. He quite liked Silver, more than he would admit (although he was sure his mates already knew). She, on the other hand, was completely oblivious to his affections towards her.

Finally they arrived at the school and the carriages began to empty, silver gracefully stepping down and waiting for her friends to join her. She smiled welcomingly at Victoria as she led the way with James, the two striding swaggishly with purpose, people splitting around the group and Victoria as they passed. The hotshots, the big guns, the popular kids were here. Silver smoothed her hair back and flicked it over her shoulder, smiling widely as they entered the doors and climbed the stairs to the great hall, walking finally inside. She released a happy laugh as she saw their spot was free- it was good to see the students hadn't forgotten who ruled this castle- and sat herself down. Sirius on one side, Remus at the other- James sat opposite with Peter whom had rejoined them, and now there was a space for Victoria, too. 'I'm really excited for this year.' Silver happily said, before glancing towards the slytherin table. 'Looks like Regulus is alone again, Siri.' Sirius glanced up at where his brother was sitting reading a book, then looked away again. 'He's a soft arse.' He said.
((Yknow me and my friend always thought Reggie was older, but then we found out he was younger and it was just... really weird for us omg.))

Ducking her head down, Victoria followed the group, trying desperately to ignore the whispers as people realized she was walking alongside the Marauders. Gripping her robes tightly, she hurried behind them but froze when she felt eyes boring into the back of her head. Looking over her shoulder, she met Regulus Black's gaze, his eyes wide in surprise. What was she doing with is brother and his friends? Taking a deep breath, she quickly rushed towards the group and timidly sat down. Staring down at her hands, she felt a faint blush rise in her cheeks. Regulus had been kind to her, a kind as someone in his position could be, but hardly ever shut up about his idiotic muggle-loving brother. She'd pretended to agree, if only to gain a few more minutes of company.
Remus hardly noticed the brief interaction between Victoria and Regulus, instead he was observing the Great Hall. "What if we put a swamp in here? But make it invisible. Minerva would quite literally never see it coming." He could hardly contain his excitement as he spoke, his eyes wide as he waited for his friends to respond. He had been planning this for weeks, he just had to perfect the enchantment and find the best time to do it.

'Oh my Merlin, yes!' Silver squealed, her cheeks flushed with excitement and her eyes sparkling and bright. She could just imagine the look on Minnie's face!!!! Sirius laughed and grinned, nodding eagerly. 'That sounds perfect, Moony.' 'Yeah, nice one, Moony!' James grinned widely, glancing sideways and spotting Lily. He swiftly began to preen, brushing back his hair and pushing his glasses up his nose, trying to not look at her and come across as smooth. 'You need a haircut. Stop trying.' Silver blandly told him, before grinning back at Remus. 'And if that doesn't work- I've got another plan.' She said slyly, winking at him, a little flirtily.

Remus' eyes widened and he gulped slightly, praying he wasn't blushing. He sent a shaky smile back and nearly burst out laughing when he watched James' eyes only widen as Lily came over to their section of the table. "Tori! I was wondering where you disappeared to." Lily exclaimed, hugging the girl from behind. Lowering her voice slightly, she added, "I was afraid Regulus was bothering you again." Clearing her throat, she glanced around at the people surrounding Victoria and said, "But it seems I was mistaken. Potter's not involving you in his idiot plans is he?" Victoria turned to look at the girl and shook her head quickly, not quite knowing how to explain how she's come in contact with the Marauders. Lily Evans would no doubtably hex the Head Girl if she heard what she had said.

'Hey, Lily.' Silver purred, smiling widely at her friend. 'How was your summer? I'm really sorry that I couldn't get in touch- you know what things are like at home.' She wore a disgruntled expression and ran a hand through her hair, sighing softly. She eyed Remus and felt her lips twitch, noticing his blush. Dork. She'd have to fill them in on the plan once Lily had moved away again.

"Silver, always a pleasure." Lily grinned before patting Victoria's shoulder. "I'll see you in class Tori." And with that, the apple of James' eye walked off to sit with her friends. Ducking her head down again, Victoria stared at her folded hands in her lap. She didn't know what to say in these sort of social settings. She'd be much more comfortable telling Professor McGonagall everything known about transfiguration. Remus laughed and said, "Well Potter, have you stolen her heart yet?"

'Of course I have.' James swaggily responded. 'She's just too stubborn to admit it.' 'You're a prat.' Silver and Sirius chorused, before grinning at each other. The food appeared on the tables after Dumbledore's welcoming speech, and the three pureblood gryffindors eagerly set themselves on their food. 'I'll get her this year- you'll see.' James was saying, whilst silver discussed quidditch with Sirius.

"So Victoria, Professor Slughorn tells me you'll be covering his tutoring schedule so he has more time to host his extracurricular clubs." Remus said making Victoria quickly look up from her lap. Nodding, she cleared her throat and said softly, "Well yes, Dumbledore asked me to after Slughorn caught me purposefully going against the recipe for Living Death. He said it was the only way I could heal Slughorn's wounded pride." Laughing softly she added, "Although I'm quite certain Slughorn's only interested in teaching is to collect his trophies." Remus laughed at her before saying, "Be careful Wolfe or you'll be up on his shelf one day."

Sirius snickered. 'Right next to the dolled up, boxed version of Rose?' 'Rude.' Silver replied, huffily flicking her hair over her shoulder. 'At least I get extra credit.' 'Teachers pet.' James sneered. Silver rolled her eyes, and smiled at Victoria. 'Try not to get invited to the parties. They really are horrendously boring and a massive chore to go to.'

Snorting, Victoria replied offhandedly, "Oh heavens no. He'd be bloody mad to even consider me, I'd only taint his spotless reputation." Her smile falling she said, "Slughorn finds students who he knows will do good, and ostracizes the rest. I can't stand him, he kisses up to half his students and scoffs at the rest." Remus nodded quietly, having gone through the same thing. Ever since Slughorn had learned about Lupin's condition, he stopped praising the boy and acted as if he could care less about his report on the dangers of Love Potions.

Silver glanced at Sirius and the two shared a look between them, before silver looked back at Victoria. 'He's a pr*ck.' she said, before smiling slyly at Remus. 'He's having a party this weekend; fancy being my escort, moony?' She slyly asked, already planning to cause mischief. Sirius snorted loudly with amusement. 'I can just see the look on his face!!'

Eyes wide Remus stuttered, "No-No, I couldn't. Besides you'd only get in trouble!" He knew his argument was weak, he knew he'd end up going with her in the end, but he stood his ground. Victoria's eyes lit up at the idea and she teased softly, "Just imagine Slughorn's face Remus. Last year, Lily took Henry Cahil and Slughorn was in suck a state he skipped straight to deserts."

'He won't tell me off.' Silver replied, flipping her hair stand-offishly. 'He wouldn't dare; besides, I'm one of his favourites besides Lily.' She grinned widely. 'I'd rather he tell me off- I don't want to go to the stupid things anymore. It's bad enough being forced to go to my families dances.' She stuck her tongue out with distaste, and Sirius mimicked the disgusted expression, before snickering. 'It'll be funny- our first prank of the year.' Sirius grinned. 'Then we'll get Minerva.' Silver tensed slightly at the mention of making Remus a joke. 'I would enjoy the night much more if you were there.' She said, looking at him; her tone was gentle and a soft smile sat on her lips.

Grimacing at first, Remus' eyes widened at her words and he sent a small smile. "Alright. Fine, I'll go to your party. When is it?" Victoria only shook her head in amusement and watched the pair with interest.

'This Saturday.' She brightly said. 'Do you own a sui-' she stopped speaking immediately- of course he wouldn't own a suit. He wouldn't be able to afford one. 'I have one you can borrow, Moony- we're the same height and a similar build.' Sirius swiftly intervened. 'Not to mention it's really handsome. You'll look great.' He said, before leaning in to whisper so the others wouldn't hear; 'Silver loves suits.' Silver blinked at them whispering in tones she couldn't hear, head slightly tilted with curiosity.

Smiling, Moony nodded and said, "Alright. Sounds like a plan Pads." Watching the two boys, Victoria cracked a smile and whispered to Silver, "Am I right in assuming you and Remus are a thing?" Lowering his voice once he noticed Silver had diverted her attention, Remus muttered, "And what about you? Any girls you plan on wooing this year? I heard Marlene was talking all about you on the train ride here."

Silver blinked and looked at Victoria, tilting her head. 'We're not a thing.' She politely corrected her. 'My family would- would never let me.' She said, stammering over her words. It wasn't common knowledge about Remus' condition, and she didn't want to key in Victoria before the group accepted her and trusted her. 'He's also rather dorky and awkward.' She grinned, glancing at him slightly. 'I do believe Sirius is trying to teach him some etiquette. He learns fast though; he's already a gentleman... just an awkward one.' She laughed lightly and brushed a strand of hair behind her ear. 'No, we're not a thing. He'd be better off not liking me, anyways.' She looked away, looking uncomfortable. 'I'm too much baggage.'
Sirius snorted and shook his head. 'Not for me, Moony. Girls are too much bother. Flings are fun and all, but-' 'I have commitment issues,' Silver, James and Sirius all chorused, Sirius blushing and grinning. 'I don't say it that often.' He defended himself. 'Yes you do.' James and Silver replied, shaking their heads at him with a mix of disbelief and amusement.

"That's a shame. You two would make a lovely couple," Victoria mused, brushing her hair out of her face. "You two complement each other quite nicely, and I'm sure he cares about you enough for him to help carry some of the baggage." Glancing over at Remus, Victoria added, "But what do I know? I haven't known him nearly as long as you lot."
"Bloody hell Sirius. You realize you could have any girl here?" Remus exclaimed, his sudden outburst shocking even himself.

Silver blushed and quietly looked away, lowering her gaze to her plate. hes got his own baggage too. she thought to herself, quietly nibbling at a piece of meat on her fork. Sirius blinked at Remus, and fidgeted a little awkwardly. 'I'm... really not that interested in a relationship, Moony. It's just... not my thing.' He and silver locked gazes and then looked away from each other, high tension suddenly seeming to spike amongst the group. James coughed and sat forwards. 'Reckon DADA will be any more exciting this year, considering everything with... you-know-who?' He asked, voice dropping into a murmur.

Victoria stilled at this, her skin growing pale as she stared at her empty plate, her eyes filled with anger as she gripped the fork in her hand so hard her knuckles turned white. "By not saying his name, you already give into the fear he desires." She managed to say, her voice shaking as she tried to hold back the anger growing rapidly. She was apauled at men like Voldemort having power, especially after what he had done to her family. All the evidence was there, and yet no one challenged him or called a trial. "And Defensive Against the Dark Arts has always been exciting, it's always been necessary, more so than ever."
Sinking in his seat at his friends' reactions, Remus muttered to Sirius, "Sorry mate, you know how I get around this time of month."
