The Dawn of the Force
A Star Wars roleplay
Intro
Before the times of the Galactic Civil War, or the Jedi Order, or even the Knights of the Old Republic, there was a time of curiosity, discovery, and conflict. This time of distress, was the start of the Jedi, the Sith, and all in between. A time when the Sith lords and the Jedi implimented and refined their codes, and their standards. When citizens took arms to make malitias and armies to combat one another, and to fight. Before there were advanced technology such as the AT-AT walkers and the Death Star, or even blasters you know today, there were barbaric tactics, as the first blasters and lightsabers were being implimented into combat. Trenches and individual blaster clips were common place in this era. Ships were barbaric, and lightspeed was almost non-existant, and space travel was just beginning to flourish. Yet, in such barbaric times, with very poor technology, it was almost a reinnosaince. This was a time where tactics and weapons, forgotten in later eras, flourished. These, are the stories undocumented, the stories that are outshined by the Galactic Civil War, and the Trade Federation. These are the War Stories of Star Wars. This was the Dawn of the Force.
Why Roleplay in the past?
Not a lot is known about the era before The Old Republic...and this roleplay could help explore into that new era. This old era, before the movies and books, could make our creativity flow, as anything that we imagine could be implimented into this older Star Wars world. In this roleplay, each jedi, sith, and trooper would be the first of it's kind. The teachings of the Jedi Code, and the Sith, are just starting to gain attention in the galaxy. Because of this, conflict arrises between these two sides, including in between. With an abundance of Jedi and Sith, we may be able to see Sith vs. Sith and Jedi vs. Jedi fights if we wanted to. But the unexplored past of the star wars universe doesn't just stop there. Being a trooper or bounty hunter, combat is grittier. Trench warfare insues as technology and the force isn't explored far enough to be able to create different methods of fighting, or making super weapons. Either way, this time era allows for a lot fo creativity, and your actions will effect the star wars universe.
The Plot
The Plot centers around two main factions, The Knights of the Stars, and the Galactic Brigade, both trying to instill different governments, and control the galaxy. While this happens, both the ways of the Sith and the Jedi are gaining popularity, and temples and teachings are being built. It is a very trying time in the galaxy, as so much is going on.
Rules
1. Be kind
2. Spread the spotlight-make sure everyone has a chance to be the center of attention.
3. Don't make your character super powerful-add flaws and disadvantages to even it out.
4. Be cinematic-Make sure to be cinematic-This really makes the roleplay shine. Make sure it fits in the Star Wars movies. Also, this is a more serious roleplay, rather than a goofy one, but funny moments can happen.
5. Diversity-Make sure we dont' have all Jedi, or all Sith. Make sure that we have an even amount of foot soldiers, bounty hunters, smugglers, Force Sensitive Jedi/Sith, Lightsaber deulests, etc.
6. When Fighting, make sure it is fair and cinematic. If both people roleplaying plans on one of the characters to die, then that is okay. You need everyones permission who is engaging in the fight. If one person sais no, then you cannot do it.
7. Have Fun- I don't really like enforcing and making rules, but this is a Star Wars roleplay, so the main goal is to have fun.
Factions
Sith
Sith Harness the raw and dark side of the force. The Sith are inventing new tactics to disrupt and combat the Jedi, and are able to come up with new force techniques to challenge the Jedi. With every Sith lord, there CAN be an apprentice. These apprentices will learn the dark side of the force from their teacher. These apprentices will learn fully under one Sith.
Jedi
on the alternate side of the coin, are the Jedi. These warriors harness the lightside of the force. Under High regard, the Jedi have built many temples to spread the teachings and the ways of the light side of the force. Jedi Apprentices are able to learn at the temples, or may be guided by one of the Jedi knights.
The Knights of the Stars
Troops of the Galactic commonwealth usually follow the ways of the Jedi, as do Jedi usually side with the troops of the Galactic Commonwealth. Starting as a military to unify all Jedi and gray Jedi under one rule, the Galactic Commonwealth have extended their reaches all across the galaxy, using trade routes and diplomacy as a primary source of finding Jedi to recruit, along with combating the sith. While Jedi CAN side with the Galactic Commonwealth, Jedi are able to refuse, as to note, Knights of the Stars do not have to like or side with jedi; in fact, they may have no affiliation with the followers of the light side. The Knights of the Stars is a completely different factions from the jedi, and while having good ties with them, the Knights of the Stars may not hesitate to stomp or occupy Jedi temples in the search of political gain. They usually wear the first forms of the old republic trooper armor, but, because of this faction being so widespread, and just starting to ground it's feet, there is no standardized uniform at the moment.
The Galactic Brigade
The Galactic Brigade, following more of the ways of the Sith, look to achieve the same objective as their 'Jedi-Following' counter-parts, but do it in a different way. With advanced technology, and an emphasise on a unified Jedi and Sith Republic, The Dominion look to find the Jedi, and to eliminate their teachings and almost transfer them into the government and teachings of the Brigade, creating a balance between dark side and Light side rule of the galaxy. But, some Jedi have refused, which have made the Dominion a bit more hostile towards the Jedi. While the Dominion has better tech, they have less total troops throughout the galaxy. The Brigade also aims at better military, and stricter laws, along with a more battle orientad empire...imspired by the mandelorians.
Their uniform is primarily a black suit of armour. What type of armor and what color is up to you. Of course, you do not have to use the uniform policy if you do not want to.
The Smuggler/ Bounty Hunter Guild
In the underskirts of the galaxy, reigns an empire of thieves, bounty hunters, smugglers, and criminals. These individuals can side with a faction, but do not have to, and could lean or have neutral views on the war. There is no leader of the guild, and it's pretty much every person for themselves.
Feel free to make your own factions if you want.
