Noticing the soldier approach the two, Jacqueline rushed over and plastered on a wide smile. "Oh you found him Henry!" She cooed, grabbing the little boy before pulling him into a tight hug. "My little son, oh my precious little boy Mummy's been so worried. Where did you run off to?"

"You believe in sea creatures"? Mason asked leaning against the rail. He thought her fascination with the ocean was rather cute.

Hal had held the boy still as he writhed, looking up as a soldier approached.
"Ah, well, thank you, sir, but I just require my money back." He said, snatching the bag of coins back "and then I think I have my own way of dealing with him, if you don't mind.
(Blood are you okay having Abebeing part of the crew?)

"My little son, oh my precious little boy Mummy's been so worried. Where did you run off to?" The soldier looked drily at Jaqueline. 'Ma'am, if that kid has a mummy, then I've got a dog for mine.' Abel shoved her away angrily. 'Don't touch me!' He shouted, backing off and plastering himself against the closest wall, little chest heaving with panic. The soldier rolled his eyes. 'C'mere, son. It'll only be for a little while.' 'I'm not going!' 'Yes, you are.' 'No, I'm not!' 'Yes, you- oh for the love of.' The soldier trailed off, looking royally agitated as he realised he'd been drawn into Abel's petty little argument.

Welp))
Vihaan sat quietly in a dingy pub at one of the ports. The Navy medic was sipping a strong drink and resting his head on one of his hands the other holding the glass of golden brandy, He sighed kicking his feet out like a little kid would do the chair he was sitting in being to tall for him.

Hal looked to the soldier "come now, let him go with his mother. It had taken me such a long time to find him again. I promise you he won't be causing any more trouble, sir. We apologise for the trouble he's been getting into"

here is my other character
Name: Anais Ame Description: A petite woman of 5’3, Anais doesn’t seem like much. Her frame is slender and there isn’t much of a figure to her. Her russet hair reaches her shoulders and has a slight wave to it. Her face is sweet with warm brown eyes and delicate features. Freckles speckle her face and line her shoulders. Her hands look as though she has worked hard in her life but she doesn’t mind the callouses on her hands. Her skin is fair but she tends to tan easily and loses it just as easily. Her smile is welcoming but her eyes can be unsettling when she wishes to show her true colors. Anais wears a white shirt tucked into black pants and a navy coat over her shirt. Her boots are brown and are laced up. Age: 21 Personality: Anais is not what she appears to be. She is uncaring, apathetic, and abrasive. Most of what she says and does is for show unless she considers you a friend and then she might care a bit more for you than others. Often she will rather leave others behind if necessary. She can be kind and sweet however it is that often she doesn’t want to take the effort to care. She is loyal, often out of actually caring about someone or because it's in her best interest to be loyal to said person. She cares more about animals than people most often. What you are: Royal Navy Rank: Crew/Officer(?) Weapons: A rapier and pistol. Backstory: Anais grew up to a fisherman and her mother died soon after her fifth birthday. Her father often took her on the ship with her and taught her about fishing and being out on the sea. Anais never liked helping her father as she could hear the fish they caught wishing to return to the sea. One day, her wish to stop helping her father came true when she decided to leave her father and join the navy. Crush: N/A Significant Other: N/A Other: She can talk to animals SN: qυeeɴ oғ ɢнoѕтlιɴɢѕ

"Bollocks, we have no time for this," Jacqueline muttered and dug through the purse of hers to find her pistol.

Abel blinked at her, wondering what she was doing, before leaping sideways as the Soldier lunged for his arm. He sucked in a deep breath, then spat a small fireball onto the soldiers chest. The soldier yelled with panic as he caught fire, and ran away screaming for help. Abel looked at the three surrounding him, trying to inch towards the sewers again.

Jeremiah leant against the sewer entrance, effectively blocking the way for Abel to escape. He then looked at Jacqueline. "You do realise we're drawing attention to ourselves." He said, looking around, ignoring the young boy for now. "...unwanted attention..."

Hal fished out his own pistol, shocked by the fire and afraid that the kid might do it again
"Don't move another inch, kid, and don't try anything either. You stole from the wrong person this time" he said

Abel immediately tensed, survival instincts stronger than his anger at being caught and cornered. He stared warily at the gun and narrowed his eyes at Hal, wrinkling his nose with frustration, eyebrows furrowed. 'rude.' He said.

Ignoring the men, she studied the boy in an impressed manner. Kneeling beside the boy, she asked softly, "What's your name?"

Hal didn't lower his gun by much, only about a fee centimetres, when Jacqueline started talking to the boy. He'd rather let her do the talking. She was the one who secured secured new crew members, not Hal, who couldn't call himself particularly socially skilled.

Abel hesitated, the anger and wariness seeming to flood out of him as she crouched down to his height, and softened her tone- as if he'd never been spoken to civilly or in that way before. 'Uhm... Abel.' He hesitantly replied, suddenly feeling very shy, flattening himself against the wall again.

"Henry, lower your gun," Jacqueline said sternly before offering a hand to the boy. "It's nice to meet you Abel." She whispered softly. "My name is Jacqueline. Do you have any family around here?"

Abel immediately narrowed his eyes with suspicion, not about to tell them where his boys were. 'Parents died when I was five.' He replied. 'I'm an orphan.' He glanced again at the sewer, agitated that he couldn't reach it, his gaze now flickering upwards to find a different route of escape.

"Me too." She said before glancing up at her men. "And now I'm the Captain of my own ship and in need of a first mate." Following the young boy's gaze she added, "You have nothing to fear my boy, I'm simply offering you a place on my ship."

He wrinkled his nose in thought, wondering whether it would really be okay to leave the orphans and go with the pirates. '......I need to do something first,' he hesitantly said. He'd go- he just needed to hand down leadership and say goodbye.

Smiling, she stood up and said, "Alright. You see that ship at the far end of the dock? Once you're finished, head down there and tell my men that Captain Black Jack sent ya."

'Okay, lady.' Abel chirped, before hurriedly running through them and disappearing down the nearest alley, making his way back to the orphaned group. He felt a little guilty for leaving them, but there was older people in the group than he- teenagers- and they'd be well looked after.
