(Is this still open to join in? If so could I do a water elemental or a plant/flora elemental?)

(I'm up for either, but since on the run is the popular choice, I'll go with that.)

// Poppy // Female // 21 // Plants // // Elemental Form // Poppy stands at a pretty average height of 5'6" with an atheltic frame and slight curves to her. She has sun-tanned skin and a spattering of freckles across her nose and cheeks. Her hair is deep red and slightly wavy, falling in a lob cut, just brushing her shoulders. Poppy has soft hazel eyes framed by thick lashes and rather pretty features. // // Poppy is pretty laid-back and easy going, she doesn't take a lot of things seriously. She's sweet and funny with a laugh to make others laugh as well. Poppy isn't really a fan of big crowds and she is extremely claustrophobic. She loves being around those like her though and is very loyal and cares deeply for them. She considers them to be her closest friends, and somewhat of her family. // Bisexual // No one right now // Not that she knows of //

I was never gone don't you judge me ;_;
X3 On the run it is then. I just can't seem to get a starter, a good one, going on my slow-ass Kindle. Would someone mind terribly starting? Let's say they're in an abandoned house for now? Or some rundown building?

Michiko felt her eyes droop blearily- given that she was the night owl of the group, she had been assigned the early morning look out shift again. She checked her watch that she had found while scavenging a rubbish pile on the last outing for useful items. It was almost 6 am, almost time to switch shifts. Her mind was slightly fuzzy from pulling an all nighter, but the idea of going back to the lab made her blood run cold and her body shake. The adrenaline from the memories was more than enough to keep her awake as it reminded her just how important a look out guard was. Currently, the group was holed up in an abounded house on the outskirts of a large city. All around the house, woods sprawled away, giving it a cottage feel. It wasn't much, but it was a home.

Theresa used to enjoy mornings. There was something magical about the crack of dawn, when the darkness peeled away and the stars coalesced with the emerging daylight. It was always eerily quiet—so quiet that Theresa's thoughts seemed to echo in her head—until the songbirds rose from their slumber and beckoned the noises of day. She found those fleeting moments relaxing and inspiring, although sometimes they just inspired her to go back to sleep. But now, as the sky turned lavender and the birds began to call, Theresa was restless. She had slept lightly, springing awake whenever the old house settled and taking a substantial amount of time to fall asleep again. After a certain point, she gave up and instead stared vacantly at the water damaged ceiling. She tried not to dwell on her memories of the laboratory, but somehow, they were a welcome respite from her maddening paranoia. Perhaps it was just a combination of exhaustion and conditioned acceptance, but she didn't think what the scientists had done was too bad. Their methods weren't the most humane, and the fact that they had seemingly selected their victims at random was certainly questionable, but they had imbued her with tremendous power. Why? Theresa had no idea; the scientists hadn't been very open about their intentions. Maybe they would have explained everything eventually, if she and the other subjects hadn't escaped. Theresa even felt the scientists were justified in hunting them down. The Elementals were unstable, and they posed a great danger to others as well as themselves. Theresa had felt pressured into fleeing into the others, and now, as her mind was constricted by constant fear and uncertainty, she was beginning to regret her choice.

Poppy had gone to sleep late the night before, settling into the house had not been easy for her. She'd been too distracted but the subtle voices she could hear from the plants surrounding them. It had been that way since the experiments were done on her and her fellow test subjects. The voices, they weren't loud though, they were like soft, whispers brought to her on a breeze. Like trying to listen to a conversation through two walls. But, they were there nonetheless and she couldn't help but want to listen to them, trying to figure out what they were saying. Were they telling stories, were they simply conversing, or was it just idle chatter? Poppy had been sitting in the corner of the main living room, near a sprawling Virginia creeper plant that had taken over quite a large portion of the house and had been listening to what it was saying until late into the night. She'd only managed to make out a few whispers from the plant, just idle things about sunshine, water, rain, and people. It had said people and knew they were there. When Poppy finally did fall asleep, she had dreams of the laboratory. Awful flashbacks to everything that had happened there, that was fairly normal for her. She assumed that everyone else there was also having them. Her night was fairly quiet though, waking up a bit later than the others, the sun having already risen over the horizon entirely. As she sat herself back up and opened her eyes wearily, a wide yawn stretched her mouth and she sighed heavily. Her hazel eyes flicked around the room quickly before she rose to her feet as quietly as possible and stretched her body out a bit further.

Theresa shifted her gaze onto Poppy. She had been staring at the ceiling for so long that her eyes had grown sore, and she had to blink away the pain. She was lying on the bare floor, and though she was cold, she had chosen not to use any blankets because the only ones she could find looked as though they hadn't been washed in decades. She realized she was fortunate that she had the option of turning down such a thing; that she had a roof over her head and walls to trap in some heat. It really wasn't much to be thankful for, but to her, any form of shelter was a blessing when they were on the run. She sat up, rotating her head so that her neck cracked. It was time for everyone to get up and begin discussing their next plan of action. They would probably set out to scavenge for more resources, or perhaps they would elect to move on to a new location. Theresa's drowsiness made both options seem equally unappealing.

Poppy ran a hand through her slightly frazzled red hair and rubbed some sleep out of her eyes before noting Theresa had woken up as well. She smiled softly to her and nodded quietly in greeting. Her eyes flicked out towards the windows near to her and then she headed for them and quietly slipped outside. Opting for the empty window panes than the squeaking door frame. Once outside in the open air, Poppy felt herself relax a bit more, the tightness of the house and the closeness of her friends made her feel just a bit claustrophobic. Before being a part of the experiments, Poppy hadn't been claustrophobic, at least not that she recalled. It had become from the constant closeness of the cells they were kept in, the tight hallways they were carted down, and the constant leaning in of doctors and others. Poppy felt herself get sick every time she was pressed in somewhere too close now, and felt that sudden panic of being back in the laboratory again set in on her. But, outside, where it was open and birds flew and trees soared into the sky, she was happy there. Poppy glanced back into the window to see if Theresa was still there, and to check if any others had woken up. After that quick glance she settled herself just under the window pane, her red hair still visible if one were standing and looking out the window. A heavy sigh escaped her lips as she took a deep breath and reveled in the freshness and openness for a few minutes longer. Her fingers tangled into the grass she sat in and she tipped her head back against the walls of the house, closing her eyes and breathing it all in for a few moments. One never knew how good it was to be out, until they had spent years being trapped inside.

(Gotcha.)
"Good morning," Theresa said in a soft voice as Poppy passed by. She remained sitting on the ground, trying to wake up mentally through willpower alone. At a time like this, espresso would be heavenly. Theresa imagined the taste of a rich French vanilla latte and savored it in her mind, knowing that she would probably never get to have one again. While the risk of being recognized and captured was low, she still couldn't walk into a Starbucks and expect to be served. Her dirty, tattered clothes made it obvious that she was a vagrant, and on top of that, she didn't even have any money. Sometimes, Theresa wondered why she and the others had subjected themselves to this kind of life. Couldn't they go to the police, or... someone in search of help? Why couldn't anyone be trusted? Just how many people could possibly be conspiring with this fringe group of nutjob scientists? But that was the thing: Theresa was merely assuming they were being hunted down by only a handful of people. This was mostly due to the fact that the scientists had committed multiple human rights violations and it obviously wasn't in their best interest to publicize their wrongdoings, but they could have easily crafted a cover story. With absolutely no knowledge of current events and no access to the media, it was impossible to know how the world would receive the Elementals. Seeing as the group adhered to a "better safe than sorry" policy, it was unlikely they would find out, either.

Ok honestly I'm with snowy. I can't get one that long but I'll try my best.))
Christian lazily opened his eyes. At first he wasn't used to the light so he lied there until his eyes adjusted. He slowly sat up and saw Theresa up. He gave a small nod before looking around. He saw Poppy was gone and assumed she went on her own somewhere. He couldn't blame her, after the things they'very been through. He stood up and sat on an old torn couch in the corner of the room. He sunk in until he was basically sitting on the wood of the couch. He didn't move despite the uncomfortablNess glad that he was able to have anything to sit on. He looked out a window and saw red hair. There she was. He walked through the hole in the wall where the door was and stood outside. He walked to the opposite side of the house of poppy and leaned against the house.

Finally, Theresa stood up, deciding to follow the others out of the house. She was a bit peeved by their lack of communication, but figured they must have gone to convene outside. To her dismay, Poppy and Christian had gone in different directions. Theresa remained at the front of the house, wondering what they were up to. She stared out into the distant city and realized that she didn't actually know what city it was. There were no recognizable buildings or landmarks in sight, and the road signs were too far away to be read. It looked like a typical American city, complete with drab, economical apartment and office buildings and a spread of gas stations and billboards along the highway. For all Theresa knew, it could have been on the opposite side of the country from where she had lived, or maybe she wasn't even in the US at all. She found the lack of information deeply troubling.

Christian stood straight, his back hurting from leaning on the rough walls of the house. He walked back to the front and saw Theresa. "Hey." He said quietly. He knew all theyre names but wasnt that close of friends with them yet so he was still shy. He sat down on the ground next to her looking up at her. "Good sleep?" He asked trying not to be awkward.

(Hi! No problem. My classes don't start until a week from tomorrow.)
Christian's voice shook Theresa from her thoughts. Her gaze had been fixed on the city and she hadn't noticed him sneak up next to her. "Oh!" she exclaimed in surprise. "Hi there." She giggled, and then was silent for a few seconds. She slapped her face when she realized she hadn't answered his question. "Oh, geez. Good sleep? I'm pretty out of it... you can probably tell."
