Cinderpaw climbed onto Basilwhisker's back, feeling like a kit. Why can't I walk back like a normal cat? Its not like I have and leg injuries! she thought, wishing these words were spoken to every cat around her.
Sparklekit huddled into her mother's fur and opened her eyes to darkness. What's the point of opening them when I'm blind?

Emeraldpaw started climbing a tree after Ashpaw. "Hey! I think the fight's over! We should get down now!" She yowled up to Ashpaw so he could hear her.

Basilwhisker stood up and started towards camp as fast as he could so that he knew Cinderpaw was safe and because the blood could attract more predators.
Darkstar followed beside him.
"Okay everyone we need to get straight back to camp. Stay together now." Dawnlight said as she waited for the apprentices to start forward. She followed behind them to make sure the fox didnt come back and attack them.
"Yeah." Foxpaw said without much energy. She didn't feel okay but she couldn't let anyone else know. She started towards camp.
Wolfkit crawled forward towards the warmth and smell of milk. He cried out as he tried to get to the warmth.
Snowdapple left the kits in the middle of the camp and peeked into the nursery. "How are you doing? Your kits are beautiful." She told Bluefeather thinking about how maybe half a moon ago she had gone through the same thing.

"I'm okay," Bluefeather's reply sounded tired. She looked at her kits. She started pointing with her nose. "This is Flamekit," she said, pointing to a ginger Tom. Then she pointed her nose at a blue-gray Tom. "Riverkit, the one that looks like me." Then she pointed to a Tom that looked kind of like a wolf. "This is Wolfkit," Then she pointed to the last kit, a brown tabby she cat. "And this is Sparklekit."
At the scent of a different cat, Sparklekit burrowed deeper into her mother's thick fur. Who is that? she thought.
Cinderpaw narrowed her eyes as Basilwhisker carried her to camp. She wanted to yell, 'I'm not a kit!' but she knew it would only make her tongue worse.
Hawkclaw could hear cats walking back to the camp. He padded out of the camp entrance to find the training group. "What happened?" he asked, looking over to Cinderpaw.

"There was a fox attack and Cinderpaw ended up biting her tongue." Darkstar said
BAsilwhisker entered camp and went to the medicine den. "Robinear? Cinderpaw bite her tongue and there's alot of blood. Can you help?"
Dawnlight forced the apprentices forward.
Snowdapple nodded. "It's great that your're okay."
Wolfkit sniffed the air and squeaked when he smelled the new cat.

"coming!" Robonear called to basilwhisker from the nursery entrance, before adding to bluefeather. "I'll bring some borage, soon." Robinear then padded out the nursery and toward basil whisker and cinderpaw.
Shellpaw walked into camp behind foxpaw, he flicked his ears curiously seeing Robinear come from the nursery.

"Oh I wonder if Bluefeather had her kits," Foxpaw squeaked. "I bet we probably cant see them yet. But it looks like Snowdapple's litter is out with Elmkit and Minkkit. Do you wanna go see them?" She nudged Shellpaw.
Basilwhisker went into the den still carrying Cinderpaw. He waited until the med cat was in the den so he knew where to set her.
Gazekit broke away from his demmates. "Robinear can I help?"

Emeraldpaw carefully climbed down the tree, the bark scraping her pads. "Sorry, I was making sure Ashpaw was ok." Emeraldpaw thought what she did was right, but Dawnlight might not think it was, even if she did.

"That's okay now we need to get back to camp. Get in with the rest of the group." Dawnlight said.
Darkstar jumped up onto a tall branch. "All cats who can cat h their own food please join beneath the High Branch." She had to make sure the rest of the clan was informed about the fox so they were safe.

Emeraldpaw nodded her head. "Ok." She finished climbing down and got back to the rest of the group. She stood beside Basilwhisker. "Don't worry, I'm safe." She whispered to him.

"You can watch for now, alright?" Robinear says, as she padded into the den and spoke to basilwhisker. "Basilwhisker, do you mind bring some borage to bluefeather, while I tend to cinderpaw?"
"Sure." Shellpaw said with a nod to foxpaw.
Cedarpaw padded over to listen to the meeting, even though he knew what happened.

Robinear separated a few borage leaves from the pile she had. "this should be enough." Robinear says to basilwhisker.

Stormleaf padded towards the camp. He had enjoyed his peaceful stroll through the forest, but he was curious as to what was going on in camp. I might be needed for a patrol, he thought. At this curiosity, Stormleaf figured that it was a good time to head back to camp.
The warrior headed into camp, spotting a group of cats gathered near Darkstar, who was sitting on a sturdy branch fairly high up on one of the camp's trees. He had heard some cats call this the high branch. Curious as to what this meeting was about, Stormleaf padded towards the group of cats and sat down next to them.

Ashpaw perked up at the sound of the leaders's voice. The apprentice joined the group of cats who had gathered beneath the high branch and sat down.

"I need to bring it to everyone's attention that we have a fox on our territory. Cinderpaw came across it when she went hunting during training. Basilwhisker, Dawnlight, and I chased it off but it may come back. I want no apprentice to go out into the woods without at least two warriors and all warriors must at least go in pairs. Also even though the camp is well protected I would like at least one warrior in camp at all times." She sat thee waiting for the words to sink in and to see if anyone had questions about anything at all.

Ashpaw listened as Darkstar spoke. After the leader was finished, the apprentice looked around him, taking in what the cats were saying.

Stormleaf looked up at Darkstar, listening as she spoke. There was that time when I chased a fox off of our territory, and I'll do it again if I have to. the tom thought, remembering the event that had happened a few seasons ago.

"Thank you, Basilwhisker," Bluefeather said as he went out of the den. She heard Darkstar call for a meeting so she strained her ears to listen. As she heard 'fox,' she swept her kits closer to her with her tail.
Cinderpaw watched Robinear. She started pawing at her mouth again. More blood!
Hawkclaw padded towards high branch. He was willing to keep his clan-mates safe from and mouse-brained fox!

Darkstar saw that the clan was coming together and could tell that they all were ready to chase the fox as far as it took to keep their clan safe. She jumped down from the branch and walked toward her den.
Dawnlight settled down in the clearing starting to lick her scratches.
Basilwhisker went to check on Emeraldpaw "Are you okay?" He asked.
Snowdapple looked at her kits feeling as though she needed to rush to them even though they were safe in the camp.
Gazekit hated that he could only watch and not help but he didnt want to get kicked out.
Foxpaw shivered again as Darkstar talked about the fox.

Fox? Leafkit thought, trying to imagine what the beast would look like. He had heard that the creatures were dangerous, but he was mildly curious to know what they looked like and how powerful they actually were. Maybe I can persuade a warrior to let me come out of camp to see the fox, he thought, beaming at his idea. Leafkit knew that the clan would not let him leave the camp alone, but the warriors could protect him.
