Hazel wasn't sure if she wasn't just really good at the homework and so was able to finish quickly, or if she just thought she understood and worked too quickly. OR maybe it was some kind of mix? Oh well.
Either way, she had finished the work, and decided to take a stroll around the castle. She tucked her sketchbook and some colored pencils under her arm, in search of something worth sketching.
That had been twenty minutes ago. "Maybe I should have sketched a map first..."

Jaden was wiping down some of the benches in the hallway before spotting a Selected girl who looked... Quite lost, if he was honest. As he had been required to memorize the girls names and faces for his work, the butler stood tall and bowed. "Lady Hazel, right? May I help you?"

Hazel smiled. "Hi! You're, ah, you work with one of the princes, right? You look familiar... I think."

"Yeah, I'm a butler for both of the princes, although mostly Prince Alexander." Jaden smiled, standing up straight and looking at the Selected girl. "I'm Jaden, by the way." (Sorry for the short post, and I'm off to bed, I'll be back tomorrow!)

Hazel bobbed in a quick curtesy. "Pleasure to make your acquaintance, Jaden." She smiled and shifted her sketching materials from one arm to the other. "That sounded princess-y, right?"

Jaden laughed. "Yes, it does." He said with a smirk, then noticed the drawing supplies that Hazel was holding. "Are you an artist?" He inquired curiously. (Sorry short post)

(Whoa! You're name changed! Skyspooky! I like it. ) Hazel gave him a sunny smile. "Thank you! And yes I am! ...Are you?" she joked, tilting her head to the side.

(just to get in the mood for the halloween season x3)
Jaden laughed. "No miss," He shook his head playfully. "I can draw stick figures, and that's about it." The butler shifted his position, placing this hands behind his back in the proper manner. "Are you looking for anywhere in particular?"

Hazel laughed. "Everyone starts somewhere! Besides, I suppose it wouldn't be fitting for a butler to dabble in arts. No, I not really headed anywhere. Just--looking for inspiration." She shrugged. "I don't suppose you have any suggestions?"

Jaden shrugged good-naturedly as Hazel mentioned the sensibility of a butler doubling in arts. "Well, My Lady, I've heard that the gardens are always a beautiful place to be. I could show you the way if you'd like."

"Hm." Hazel considered that for a moment, pursing her lips. "It's tempting. I love colors and shapes like you'd find in the garden..." she thought out loud. "But...it's too simple. Today I want something different. Something more challenging and less obvious." She looked at Jadon again, and wondered briefly why all the men in this silly palace had to be so tall. Seriously, what did they eat? Fertilizer? "I don't suppose there are any places that are hardly used? Forbidden hallways hiding ancient magical objects perhaps?" she suggested, a smirk tugging at her lips.

(Yes Hazel everyone eats fertilizer xD)
"Let's see..." Jaden thought for a moment, wondering if there was anywhere that might have the sort of mysterious beauty that Hazel was looking for. "There is an abandoned wing of the castle; it used to be the the king before King Charles' wing, but once he died they closed it. There's still access, and its' not forbidden, just no one ever goes there. (Except for Quinn and Gil but we don't talk about that). It's very quiet and has an amazing view of the skyline."

(WELL EVERYBODY IS SO TALL SO EXCUUUUUSE ME! Heehee.)
Hazel's eyes lit up as he described the abandoned wing. "Oh, that sounds perfect!" She gasped and smiled. "What if there are ghosts?! Are there ghosts? Have you ever seen one?"

Jaden laughed. "I don't know, Miss. There might be ghosts of cranky old kings." He shook his finger in the most menacing way he could manage before breaking out into a cheesy smile. "Shall I show you the way?" He began to walk towards the staircase.

Hazel laughed at his funny expression. "Sure. I mean, yes, please. If it's not too much trouble."

"Of course not, I have plenty of time." Jaden began to walk up the staircase, wondering what it would look like to someone who was seeing it for the first time. He grew up in the palace, with his mother a cook and his father a stablehand; these halls were home to him. "What do you think of the palace?" The butler inquired.

"I said that I was enjoying the palace very much; I spent more time describing it than anything else. It's hard to get talking about architecture and beauty wrong." Quinn started, looking up at Gil and tilting her head slightly, causing a stray strand of hair to fall into her face. "I did mention the Prince eventually, saying he seemed like a very nice man." The Selected girl shrugged. "That's about it. I asked about the boys, of course, and did mention the food and how kind all the staff, especially the guards, were." She chuckled and shook her head slightly. "She was so excited when she wrote her letter! I could tell by her words; saying the palace sounded absolutely delightful, how she couldn't wait until... until I won and she could live here. She then went to explain how my brothers are doing, how my dad is... My younger brother is sick again." Quinn's eyebrows raised in worry. "He gets these headaches... It's horrible, and we can't..." She trailed off. "Afford to pay for treatment." She said that last part in a rush, hating talking about finances. "Anyway, the farm is blossoming, and my horse is doing fine." Quinn smiled, although it seemed a little forced at this point. Legit y'all don't know how bad I feel about not being active lately. I'm gonna be on almost a pathetic amount tonight and tomorrow but poofy because my dad's taking me out driving tomorrow and if you guys want, I can always upgrade Alex to be the big prince? We can make Charlotte older and make Andy 18 so the baby prince thing works still. I'm gonna be extremely active now, so if you guys don't wanna wait?) Gil gave her a crooked smile when Quinn mentioned she had put a good word in about the guards to her mother. Gil's parents, while he did respect them, he wasn't totally sure if they ever loved each other. His father was constantly busy and his mother never really wanted children, so Gil was left alone to deal with himself. Which was fine for him, and now in adulthood, he barely talked to either of them in a casual way. Yet, his smile faltered when Quinn said her mother was praying for her to win. It made the guard shift on his feet - was it unfair to Quinn to start this extremely forbidden relationship? And then Quinn went on to talk about her brother. Sympathy instantly washed across his face, something Gil didn't typically like to give in to. Born and raised a Two, in the palace of all places, meant Gil never had financial issues. Usually, he didn't even bat an eye at hearing others talk about their financial issues - which was a bit heartless of him, yes - but hearing about the girl's brother's health issues, he couldn't help but say, "I'm sorry." And, since she was standing close enough to him, he took her hand in his gently before giving it a reassuring squeeze. As long as she stayed here, it'd be okay. Quinn would get a pension of sorts to stay, and if her family was smart, they'd know how to use it. "I'm happy to hear it," he said gently towards the end, hoping it portrayed that if she wanted to carry on talking to him, he'd be okay with it. He'd also be okay with if she wanted to change the topic entirely.
