(She's awesome! I'll add her now, and feel free to RP! Welcome!) Katherine leaned into the kiss then pulled away in surprise as her husband did so and began to rant. She bit her lip before bursting into a giggle. "Oh, my dear," She took his hand and tilted her head with a half-smile. "Do you not remember our first date? We were two awkward teenagers, not sure what to do with our life, not sure exactly how to be in a relationship. Plus, I had to share you with eleven other girls." She shook her finger at him playfully, although her blue eyes sparkled. "I had to teach you how to hold a hand properly, for goodness' sake!" She laughed, before falling into silence as she gazed at Charles. "Our son will find love. If not... he will find a partner. It is the way of the Selection. You know this." The Queen murmured, clearly not happy about it.

(Yay, new people! Welcome to the rp! I would offer to rp with you, but all my characters are tied up at the moment. :/ Sorry!) Charles laughed. "Hey, that was a new concept! It was a little more tricky than it looked! Especially when I was nervous." But she had a point, she had had to show him how to properly hold a girl's hand. Ah well. He had caught on quickly. He shared her lack of enthusiasm for that second option. A simple partner wasn't good enough. He wanted Alex to fall in love, ridiculously and irrevocably in love with somebody who was going to support him for the rest of his life. "He'll find love," he insisted. "Like we did." He sighed and squeezed her hand. "I can let you get ready for bed."

Soren stood triumphantly at the top, completely out of breath. He was fast, but had absolutely no stamina. As soon as Jaden turned around, Soren slumped down and rested his hands on his knees. "Yeah," he wheezed. "So...high. Majestic," He coughed, choking on his own dry throat. When he finally caught his breath he cleared his throat and stood back up. "Anywhere else 'off-limits' you wanna go?" He teased. (Oh I'm sorry! I must've missed the reply! Let me get right to that, my bad!) Jaden smirked. "I don't know, where else "off limits" is there?" The butler glanced down the stairwell, feeling a swell of... pride? in his chest. It was like a child playing King; He had lived in this palace his whole life, but never as more than a servant. Imagining himself as king, a crown on his head, walking down this stairwell... Jaden waved off the thought and made a ridiculous thinking face. "We can just keep going up and see what there is to see?" Katherine smiled softly as Charles talked about love and went on her tippy-toes to give him a small kiss on the lips. "Alright; But please go to sleep. It's very late and you have a lot of King stuff to do tomorrow... Our lives continue even with all these crazy teenage girls here." She teased, squeezing his hand before walking into the bathroom that attached to their bedroom to wash her face and brush her teeth, as she had already wiped off her makeup and undone her hair.

((Don't worry about it! )) Soren finally caught his breath and stood up, leaning back on the rail behind him. She watched Jaden stare down the stairs and get lost in his thoughts. Sore couldn't help but smile. When the other made a face, he burst out laughing then quickly covered his mouth in case anyone was out and could hear him. He simply nodded at Jaden's suggestion, looking away sheepishly.

Jaden gave a chuckle then began walking towards the end of the hallway quietly; this was the Selection floor after all, and the girls would be sleeping. "Come on, let's see what's at the top of this place." He whispered excitedly, a mischievous glint in his eye.

Soren's eyes widened when he realized where they were. He gulped and hurried to catch up to Jaden, not wanting to be alone if one of the girls decided to take a midnight walk. He brought a hand up to his mouth, a nervous habit he's had since he was little. "Oh, okay," he whispered. The faster they got off this floor, the better.

"Of course. The show must go on," Charles chuckled. He changed while Katherine was in the bathroom. He sighed and leaned back against the pillows. He reached over to the nightstand. "Wait--Katherine? Where's my book?!"

"What book?" Katherine walked to the doorway, leaning on it with her toothbrush in her mouth. She glanced around, spotting her husband's book on the dresser that was five feet away from him. "Charles, dear, look in front of you." She rolled her eyes playfully, waiting to see if he could figure it out.
Jaden walked quietly until they approached the stairs. "Next is the Royals... then, I have no idea." The butler gave a lop-sided grin before continuing his walk upwards.

Charles looked confused. He let his hands flop onto the bed beside him and squinted straight in front of him--but then all he saw was Katherine. "That's the same look you gave Andy when you were waiting for him to figure out that he had put his shoes on the wrong feet when he was four."

"Fair enough," Andy nodded. He had never really gravitated towards music. Gil had taught him to play the guitar, and Andy would pull it out during his free time. But other than that, Andy had no real calling to it. But he could see why the palace had decided not to place a piano in Crystal's room, as it would be very loud compared to, he was guessing, a flute or violin.
Andy noted her discomfort as she stumbled over her words and lapsed back into quiet. Andy definitely wasn't a quite creature by nature - it sort of came in the job description as royalty. Even though Andy was the Schreaves' third child, by minutes, he was second-in-line because he was male, and that meant he had a slew of meetings and public events Charlotte, third-in-line, didn't really need to attend. He was used to hearing his father's cabinet bickering and he was used to talking over the noise to get his point across. In matters of diplomacy, Andy tended to be well-versed and was considered an unofficial cabinet member on the matter. And it was a good thing he was a loud type, since most of the bickering happened during meetings that centered around that topic.
The prince led her down the secondary flight of steps, traveled more by staff members, only because it was closer to the grand music room. Andy finally piped up again, to the taller girl, "If you're lucky, maybe one of the palace musicians will be in there. They were absolutely heartbroken when a lowly guard taught me guitar and didnt push me into the direction of the piano," he snorted, "so if you ask them to give you pointers or something, I don't think they'd mind." It was true, too; Andy and his siblings weren't huge musicians, so the palace musicians had no one to teach except some of the staff's children. He figured they'd like to have a young adult to teach or give pointers to.

The silence was somewhat awkward, but better perhaps than awkward conversation in which she was in danger of tripping over bother her tongue and her own feet, as opposed to only the latter.
Crystal bit her bottom lip after he spoke, trying to decide how to answer. It was kind of the prince to offer the palace's services and tutors to her, and the absolute last thing she wanted to do was sound prideful. But the truth of the matter was, well, she simply didn't need lessons. Playing the piano was practically her only hobby, and she excelled at it. She should say something though. "Um, thank you, that's very kind of you to offer," she told him.

Andy simply shrugged again. "I don't mind if you don't need them," he took a shot in the dark, figuring the response was to cover up the fact that she really didn't need any of the musicians to help her. The tone he used had slipped into friendly zone, which probably took the edge off of his features which typically made him stern looking, and a little bit too kingly, due to looking similar to Charles. "And once the girls clear out more, we can work on getting you a piano in your room. Then if anyone complains, which they'll probably be too scared to do, we can simply move them."
At the bottom of the flight of stairs, he led her to the door of the Women's room. To the left was the music room, down a ways, and on the right there was the ballroom, which he figured Crystal hadn't seen yet. Which gave him an idea. "Don't be modest for a second," he spoke, pausing. "If you're good, I can let you use the one in the ballroom. Best of the best, since that's the piano that's used for balls and receptions with other royal families. I wouldn't want you to use the subpar instruments if you don't have to. I'm serious, you'll be allowed in there as long as you say my name." Andy had figured that this Selected girl was more on the nervous or anxious side, and if she enjoyed something as much as music, he wanted her to be happy with it, hence his offer.

Crystal slowed to a stop outside the ballroom doors. Her eyes widened and she was pretty sure her mouth dropped open too, but she was concerned about bigger things at the moment.
The piano in the ballroom? She had never actually been inside a ballroom, much less played a piano in one. How would it sound? Would it fill up the space? Oh, it would be so dramatically romantic, to play a beautiful piano in a beautiful ballroom all by yourself! Even better if you found out that a handsome boy had been listening all along, and thought you played beautifully and told you so, and--
She shook her head, telling herself not to be silly, and turned her gaze to Andrew again. She didn't want to be presumptuous, but--she really wanted to play. "I-- I would really be allowed? To play--in the palace ballroom?" Even all her shyness couldn't cover the edge of eagerness in her voice.

At hearing the eager note in Crystal's voice Andy broke out into a smile. "Yeah, seriously. Just say Andy said you're allowed to. Or just tell them to talk to me. Just don't tell the other girls, next thing you know they'll be begging me to let them into private rooms." With that, he leaned forward, pulling open one of the large doors that opened into the ballroom. Politely he placed his hand on her back, ushering her in.
When she entered the room, he immediately took her hand off her back and turned to close the door, letting Crystal get acquainted with the overly ornate room. He turned to walk to the middle of the dance floor, hands in his dress pants pockets, trying to imagine how an outsider saw this room. Andy imagined himself taking in the grand row of floor-to-ceiling windows, the glittery chandeliers, the detailing to the walls, and the tiny platform in the corner for the first time. The platform was only a step high, just high enough to elevate the performers so people could see them, and only big enough for the grand piano and space for maybe a few more instrumentalists. "And I give you the ballroom." He meandered on towards the windows, which let in plenty of light, slightly ignoring Crystal, but it was apparent she was allowed to go to the piano.

Katherine laughed, taking the toothbrush out of her mouth. "Then it must be somewhere very obvious, then." She grinned, her blue eyes sparkling with amusement as she watched her husband. "Do I want to let you suffer a little? Maybe." She teased.

Crystal felt as if her eyes were literally the size of saucers. The place was enormous! And everything was so polished and rich and detailed--it almost hurt the eyes to take in. She craned her neck back to look up, then from one side to the other, moving in a slow circle and forgetting all the nerves that had jumped up and down her spine when Andy had touched her back (not "A cute boy is touching me!" nerves so much as "I was not expecting to be touched!" nerves, similar to the "I have to interact with other people?!" nerves Crystal experienced practically on a daily basis). Of course, though, the piano was the real beauty, and Crystal was drawn to it. She lifted her full rose-pink skirts carefully to climb the single step onto the platform and padded toward the instrument, shiny and huge and beautiful. She ran one finger over the ivory keys, too lightly to actually make a sound, and glanced again over the whole huge room. What would it be like to actually play here, in front of people? To hear the music fill the whole room, straight from your fingers through a beautiful instrument to fill the air? She would never have the courage to play for others, but she liked to imagine it sometimes anyway, even if it was a rather childish daydream to have a roomful of people admiring your music. But then, her father did it all the time, though he used his voice instead of his hands to captivate a crowd.
Crystal pulled herself reluctantly from the daydream and looked again at the prince. "It's a gorgeous room," she said. "And piano. Thank you for showing me."

Okay there's a really hot Quinn I'm friends with and we hung out today during my friend's sweet sixteen it was fun I imagine all those who are named Quinn to be hot and sorry this reply isn't the best I'm tired)
Today, for Gil, was pretty much a holiday. He had the day off, which was pretty much nonexistent; with the Selection, Gil had pretty much expected to never have one again. He was half tempted, several times, to jokingly tell Alex to pick a girl and be done with it so their daily routines could go back to normal. But since he met Quinn, well, the idea sort of stopped coming to him. There were two possible things that could happen and neither were good. Quinn could win the entire thing, and become royalty. Gil couldn’t even imagine sneaking off with the future queen. Or, Quinn could be eliminated; this would mean that Gil would be allowed to publicly ask her out, but tabloids would easily pick up a palace guard asked an ex-Selected out, and he didn’t want any unnecessary attention. What if somehow they found out what he and Quinn were doing? It would be a nightmare.
Gil sighed, making his way to Quinn’s door. It was a normal day, and all the girls had been gathered into the Women’s Room. Quinn, however, had made a small lie about how she felt slightly under the weather and wished to rest. She’d been allowed to skip the Women’s Room and stay in her bedroom, which meant the coast was relatively clear for Gil to come to her room for a few stolen moments. Arriving at her door, he swiftly knocked on it, retracting his hand to look around and make sure no staff members were coming down the hall. ~~~~~ Andy had kept his hands in his pockets, silently awaiting to hear Crystal’s assessment or just for her to start playing. At her words, Andy offered her a smile; it was faint, just barely a whisper of one. “I’m happy to hear that you think that,” he told her, truthfully. “And you’re welcome. I think it’s a shame it’s only occasionally used. Put it to good use.” From his spot at the window, he motioned to the floor with his hand that he removed from his pocket. “And if you ever feel like you need to practice dancing, or something, use the floor. Whatever you can use in this room, take it to your advantage.”
Guessing Crystal would most likely want quiet and no audience, he started to the doors. At the door, one hand placed on the doorknob, he turned back to the Selected. “I’ll leave, then. Unless you can’t find your way back, then I’d be happy to stay and listen to you.” He shot her another smile, this time with a flash of teeth. One way or the other, he didn’t care if the girl requested him to stay or told him to go.

Charles sighed, rubbing he side of his nose. "You live to tease me," he accused. He looked around slowly, trying to take in any details, especially details shaped like-- "Aha!" He hopped up and pulled his book off the dresser. "Another victory for the great King Charles the First. The kingdom rejoices in light of this conquered challenge." He looked pointedly at Katherine, trying to fight the grin tugging at the corners of his mouth. "No thanks to you."

(That's probably true on the Quinn thing tbh... Your post is great ^^)
Quinn was sat in her bedroom, eyes scanning over a letter from her mother with tears pricking at her eyes. The palace was absolutely grand and a beautiful home for the time being, but she found herself missing her home and her family every time a day passed. It wasn't even that she felt homesick, just the words of her mother were so kind, so understanding... she missed that kind of motherly affection. The knock at her door, however, jerked her out of it and Quinn quickly blinked, wiping away any evidence of previous tears before slipping the letter under her pillow and jumping up, glancing at the mirror to double-check her appearance. It was decent; she was in a day dress with no shoes, light makeup and her hair was down. Hardly elegant. It'll have to do. The Selected girl went and opened her door, a smile spreading across her face as she looked up at Gil. "Get in here, you." She grabbed his arm and pulled him towards her, eyes shining.
Katherine couldn't help but laugh, covering her her mouth with her hand before going back into the bathroom and placing her toothbrush into the small holder and walking over to the bed. "I live to be the absolute most helpful person ever. " She teased, scooting up so she was sitting next to her husband. "What are you reading?"

Katherine giggled. "Hey!" She playfully shoved his shoulder before snuggling into his chest and looking at the book curiously. "I bet it is... Illéa must've been very different back then, don't you think?" The Queen scanned the pages, wondering about the past.

Not sure why my replies were in a different font? xD and yes. All Quinn's are unnaturally and maddeningly beautiful, of both genders)
When Quinn opened the door, he broke out into a smile, letting her pull him into the room by his arm. As soon as he was within the room, he put his free hand on her hip and brought his head down to kiss her. It had been a few days since their night on the roof, and though they had some moments together, this was the first time since then they had a prolonged amount of time together. "Hey, you," was all he said in greeting as they separated.
For off-duty staff members, the palace often didn't care what they wore, as long as it wasn't a poor reflection on the Schreave family and the current king, so this explained why Gil wasn't dressed in anything that pegged him for a guard. This, and with the fact Gil was born a Two and raised around Ones and Twos, also contributed to the fact he looked very nice and put together. He took Quinn in, and thought she looked pretty; then again, she could wear a flour sack and he'd probably still think she was.

Quinn kissed him, breaking into a smile as she pulled away. "Hey, would you look at that, Officer Davenport has normal clothes." She teased, never have seeing him in his day clothes before... but somehow, he was even more handsome in them. He looked normal, yet slightly messy, and she loved that. "How's your off day been?" The Selected girl asked, glancing around and wondering if she should close the door... If she did, someone might come in and wonder. However, anyone who would come in would be her maids, and they would knock first.
"It make me wonder about everything, really." Katherine said, smiling softly. "Like, all of their decisions affected us in one way or another. And one day, our decisions will affect the future of Illéa forever." (Sorry for short post)

"Who would have guessed?" Gil responded, giving her a laugh. He wasn't going to lie, being dressed down definitely gave a bit of normalcy to their whole situation, but definitely not a lot. Gil probably looked a whole lot more comfortable, though. In full uniform, the guards often had to look impeccable; they had to make sure to never to have a hair out of place, always be clean shaven if they didn't have facial hair, always stand in a certain position. But today, he was allowed to have his hair slightly messed (only because he played with it) and stand with his hands in his pockets and look like a human being. "My day off? They're few and far in between. Today was pretty boring, because I was waiting to come up here. I guess my day's gonna pick up, now that I'm actually here." Noticing her door was still open, he walked deeper into the room, going to a spot where if you were walking by you wouldn't see him. "What about your exciting day, lying to palace staff about feeling under the weather?" Gil said this with a mischievous lilt to his voice with a matching grin.

Quinn laughed lightly. "It wasn't hard, really. It's easy to pretend to have a headache." She tucked away some hair that decided to fall into her face relentlessly. "I'll have to be present for dinner though... And supposedly the Prince is going on dates with the girls now." Quinn shrugged, looking uncomfortable. "I don't know what to do if he asks me out... I actually don't want to go with him!" The Selected girl couldn't help but chuckle at the irony of it all; oh, how life had played her good on this one. "Maybe I could just pretend to always be sick."
