πICπ Norman glared and brought his fluffy tail in front of him. "Not cool cat, and definitely not appreciated," he spat at her and got to his feet, fully aware that if he wanted to stay human for awhile he had to keep the masks down, and he was still shaking from all of that. You try being a small little squirrel that could have easily been eaten alive by what appeared to be-at the time, a huge cat. It was terrifying and he needed...he needed a moment. Ugh he hated this, he felt all vulnerable in front of everyone. So he just inched towards the closest brother(Ty) and buried himself into his side.

{Hey everyone! Id love to join this thread, how does this character sound?}
Xavier Bloodfeather is the son of a human and a vampire. The race is known as a Dhampir, and his kind are almost universally feared and hated. He is tall at 5'10, gray haired and painfully thin. Xavier's father was descended from one of the first vampires to walk the earth. Xavier's eyes are golden, and they burn brightly when he grows angry. His skin is light, almost gray in color, and looks flaky, as though you could peel it off. While still a child, at age 15, the latent powers of his vampire blood manifest themselves by enabling him to teleport short distances, disappearing into a cloud of acrid smelling black smoke and reappearing in a similar fashion. He is growing into his powers and has a hard time controlling them. Xavier's demeanor is cheerful, though with a short fuse that gets him into trouble. He has a pet bat named San who he has known for almost all of his life, who communicates with him by establishing a telepathic link. Xavier doesn't know if the bat can talk to anyone else, he has never tried to find out. His father was hunted down by vampire hunters a long time ago, and he was raised by his mother until she fell ill. When she died, his uncle and aunt sent him away to this orphanage, not wanting a freak like him around.

(I wish it would be warm again! It was in the 80s just a couple days ago)
Xanthe, not at all bothered by the near death of the insolent squirrel, glared at Norman. "You deserved that, you- you human freak!" He hissed. Really, the nerve! He glanced around, spotting the cat looking decidedly sheepish. "Good dream-cat," He said in a much warmer tone to the retreating feline. She had tried to defend him and his reputation, after all.

πICπ Norman didn't say anything to him, choosing to ignore his surroundings for the time being, however his brothers had his back. That's the thing with these four, you mess with one of them and in return, the next three go after you, and though all three could be scary, one was prone to be more scary than the others, and since Ty was busy comforting the squirrel boy and Kai was giving the cat a disappointed look, that left Nikolas to deal with Xanthe. He let the dark sort of fill in around him. "I suggest you do not insult my brother as you do not know his story and if I remember correctly, the nymph had scared you earlier today and he was smaller than you, imagine if you were the size of a squirrel and the nymph the size of a cat, surely things would have been different and I strongly suggest you think of that for a minute," he said darkly.

Ignoring what appeared to be the bogeyman's own show of strength, Xanthe gave Nikolas his own dark look, which was marred slightly by his glowing eyes and flushed cheeks. "I'll have you know that water nymphs are evil, child-stealing monsters who enjoy dragging poor fire demons into the icy depths of their pools!" He exclaimed. Water nymphs were nightmarish creatures and just getting touched by one hurt. And Xanthe had been tackled! No one was even thinking about the trauma he'd been through! He was so worked up that his face was almost gold, which was embarrassing.

πICπ "And to a squirrel, a cat is just as terrifying," Nikolas said, it sounded sort of like he was giving a lecture. Though with the way his voice naturally sounded, it could also very well be some sort of threat...It was a lecture though, because he had so far, enjoyed the demon's company and he was hoping to befriend him, however his brothers always came first. Speaking of which, he looked over at his brothers to see that Kai had disappeared, going all chameleon camouflaged on them-reason why was yet to be answered, and Ty looked like he wanted to electrocute someone, while Norman had just fallen quiet, eating silently as he sat next to his brother.

Jingle Bell ran. That's all she could think to do. God people were becoming the most exhausting andventure of all her years. She missed the coven, where thirteen witches were the only ones she ever saw, and if another person walked into the territory they were turned to squirrels she was supposed to chase, or they were turned into pigs that ran squealing immediately. They never made it out half-anything! She didn't like their dreams, she didn't like their touch, she didn't like their societal rules. Humans were exhausting, and if she ever came out of that forest again it's because it burned down the same as her last home.

Xanthe hmmphed, turning away from Nikolas. Of course none of them would understand, they'd never been fire demons! Nevermind that water nymphs were dangerous to everyone, not just the fire inclined. Other species were just too dumb to understand anything. Xanthe was slightly worried by the look the warlock was giving him, however. And the fact that his defender, the dream-cat, had disappeared.

πICπ Well...Nikolas being the pessimist he was, figured that meant the end of any possible friendship there. Oh well, brothers came first. He looked over at his redhead little brother. "Are you okay?" He questioned and Norman stayed quiet for a minute before giving a smirk.
"Of course I'm okay-" and poof, he was the squirrel again. Norman let out a small sigh but didn't curse like before. He figured this was going to happen. Curse that stupid curse, he hated it. He ended up climbing up Ty until his brother placed him at the table. Though Norman wasn't all that hungry anymore.

Holliday cleared his throat at the sudden silence that fell over the room after the chaotic outburst that just happened... "Th- There are.. er.. cinnamon rolls or donuts for dessert if anyone is interested??" He said.. or asked, he wasn't sure. He just wanted whatever just happened to be over. There was an oppressive weight on the air right now that he didn't like. He kind of just slinked away from the dining table to the stand in the corner of the room that was piled with yummy treats. He grabbed one silently, and took it into the courtyard to eat, hoping fresh hair might help him feel a little less like he was going to vomit.

Now Shafer wasn't the most apt at reading humans when they weren't speaking but even he could feel the sudden tension crackling in the air. It was really and truly quite unnerving and Shafer didn't enjoy it. He shifted in his seat and tried to keep the agitated clicks he could feel rising in his chest at bay. And then Holliday up and left and Shafer was left alone. The nymph stared blankly at the spot the human used to be as he took another sip from his entire pitcher of water. Wow, this was uncomfortable.

πICπ Norman wasn't entire sure he could eat...his stomach had flopped and he was holding everything in just barely. But he couldn't refuse a cinnamon roll, those were amazing. "I'm gonna go eat outside. Where there's less mangy cats and rude shiny demons, or nymphs who can't understand personal space," he told his brothers in a particularly sour tone before he sprinted over to the cinnamon rolls and grabbed two, shoving them in his cheek pouches before he started down from the table and outside.

Xanthe glared at his empty plate, extremely hungry and annoyed. These people didn't even know how to feed him. He wanted to go back outside, since some of the others had and he didn't want to end up alone with the nymph, but he also didn't want to be in the courtyard with the stupid squirrel. After glancing at the nymph, who did have an entire pitcher of water that it could use on him, he decided to find somewhere in the courtyard far away from the squirrel. He stood up quickly and left the room. In the courtyard he squinted against the sunlight, looking for a spot to go sulk.
(I'm gonna go run errands I'll probably be gone for a few hours)

Shafer twitched a bit, his special fire demon nymph sensor going off when the aforementioned fire demon nymph rose from the table and huffed out of the room. He was so angry all the time, Shafer admired it. He got up from the table as well, sent the brothers a brilliant smile, and bounced after the demon with way more energy than he had any business owning. Especially when considering how sullen he'd been not sixty seconds prior. "Why are you so glowy?" He questioned in that vibrantly cheery tone of his as soon as he landed beside him. Kind of disgustingly cheery.

Xanthe nearly jumped out of his skin. "Don't touch me!" He shrieked, throwing his hands up between him and the water nymph. He backed up quickly- or more like scooted to the side, because there was no way he was gonna let the thing trap him inside. "Stay away, there's no water, you can't- you can't," He blubbered. Xanthe really had no defense against the nymph, as it hadn't seemed to mind being burnt before.

Shafer chirped in surprise when the demon freaked out so dramatically and gestured to him frantically. It made little sense but he obediently stepped back a few paces regardless. He tilted his head to the side, still smiling eerily up at the other boy, irises blown out entirely, whether it was from the excitement of being so close to such a warm being or the pain of being near such a warm being, the nymph wasn't totally sure. He lifted his hands in surrender once he realized that the fire guy was actually scared of him. That was a little empowering. Just a bit. "Your voice is really weird. And I think your language is a little similar to mine. You've just said something about... Water. Do you like water?!"
