Here is where the leaders receive their nine lives and where the medicine cats visit every half moon.
At the nine lives ceremony:
The leader and the medicine cat journey to Moontree at Sunhigh and arrive at Dusk.
They share tongues.
At Moonhigh, the leader touches his/her nose to Moontree.
They receive their lives.
The medicine cat touches his/her nose to the Moontree once the moon has travelled halfway to the horizon.
The two talk for a bit about leadership and the new role of the selected leader.
At Dawn they awake and return to camp.
At the half moon:
The medicine cat/s (and apprentice, if there is one) travel to Moontree at Sunhigh and arrive at Dusk.
The cat/s touch their noses with each other, then touch their nose to the Moontree.
They share with StarClan.
At Dawn, they awake and travel back to their Clan.

Darksnake stared wonderingly at the glistening Moontree. "I've only been here once," she mewed to Drizzlepaw. "All warrior apprentices visit the Moontree before becoming a full warrior."

"You haven't- Right. Feathercloud died before he could bring you." Darksnake took a breath. "Well, I've heard about the leader ceremony. We're supposed to share tongues at Dusk, but it's nearly Moonhigh. I guess we left a bit late."

"Well-" Darksnake began but she stopped s the moon reached it's highest point and the Moontree lit up with a dazzling light. "I suppose we need to lay down and touch our noses to the Moontree." She stood up and padded over to the magnificent tree, and lay down, feeling Drizzlepaw do the same beside her.

"Yeah, I think so," responded Darksnake, pressing her nose to the Moontree. The coldness of it shocked her and she shut her eyes quickly. She opened her eyes. They were still at Moontree. Then she notcied the starry warriors around her.

Drizzlepaw opened her eyes as well, and looked at Darksnake. She followed her leader's gaze to the outline of the starry warriors. She gasped, unable to move or speak. (Okay, I may not be on for too long tomorrow, but I'll try) ((I'm here! Sorry, I was busy today. We were out.)) Darksnake's breath caught in her throat as a scrawny ginger she-cat with one black forepaw padded towards her. "Windflower?" She breathed. The she-cat laughed. "Hello, my kit." |

Drizzlepaw recognized her mentor's distinct features, and immediately felt guilty for not remembering her own mentor, who had taught her so well. |

Are you alright? How can I help you?" "I'm fine," Darksnake said forcefully. "Thank you," she meowed to Feathercloud. The tom dipped his head a moved back into the ranks of StarClan. (You can make a cat to give her the next life) Drizzlepaw gazed at her leader, wondering if there was anything she could do to help. "I would even bear your pain for you," she whispered. (Hmm... I have a few OCs I could use, but do I have to create a separate joining form for them?) |
