(Are we going to be able to claim the kits?)
"Intense? If that was intense then I'd advise you to never to live in the mountains." She meowed humorously, grabbing the back of the doe's neck. "Help me drag this now." She muttered through the thick skin. Losami couldn't help but feel pride in being able to be an expert at hunting larger prey. This would be able to provide milk for the cubs for a few days now. I promised to help out and this is my first way. Oh, father would be so proud of me.

(did you not see my response from before? Yeah, that was my intention, though there won't be much roleplay opportunity with them at least for a few days until they open their eyes XD but yeah, a few of them will be up for claiming- I want to take one or two, though. I'll open them for claiming just as soon as I decide which ones I want to keep. I'm working on their "profiles" right now so probably by the time I finish with that I'll know which one(s) I want.)
Crow twitches his whiskers. "Well, it's intense when you're a normal cat who's never hunting anything larger than a rabbit," he replied, trotting over and trying to find a good place to grasp the deer. He sank his teeth into one of its legs near the shoulder, wrinkling his nose at the musky taste of its fur, and put all of his strength into dragging it back towards the oak (trying real hard not to call it "camp" yet lol).

(Oh, XD, sorry I didn't see your original post. I must have read over it.)
"I guess I can understand." She muttered, dragging the deer towards the oak tree. Midnight took the rear, sinking his teeth into its haunches and following the others. Crow seemed like a decent cat. And now, Midnight was still debating on whether to stay or leave. Though he knew Losami wanted to stay. Natalie on the other paw... he wasn't so sure yet. Hopefully this deer was worth their time. Midnight himself didn't like it. He would rather prefer a nice squirrel or rabbit.

Once they reached the clearing, Crow let go of the deer and sat back with a huff, somewhat winded. Pulling such a large creature through the undergrowth was no easy task. He nodded to Losami and Midnight and meowed, "I'll get the others." He hopped to his paws again and stretched quickly before trotting back to the burrow and poking his head inside.
"Hey, there's meat. Dunno if any of you have had deer but that's what's out there," he announced. "Best to eat now before the blizzard, no telling how long it'll last." He looked over at Ember, and addressed her directly with his next words. "I can keep the kits warm while you eat."

"No need for that Crow." Losami's voice sounded behind Crow as he addressed everyone else, muffled for the deer leg she held in her jaws. "I brought this for the nursing queen." She said, dropping it before Ember and stepping back, swiping her tongue over her maw. Her green gaze traveling over to the five kits. "I wouldn't want you to disturb the cubs by your sudden movement." Generosity was one of the main traits her father had taught her. It was best to be kind and helping, than to be violent and rude.

(Glad I came back in time!!)
"Thank you." Ember mewed, and rose to her paws. She walked over to the deer and sniffed at it curiously. She'd never had deer before, but she was getting hungry and it was worth a taste, especially since everyone had worked hard to hunt it. She took a bite, surprisingly delicious.

Crow nodded, meowing a thanks to Losami and backing out of the den. He paused, glancing up at the sky again to gauge the weather. It was snowing pretty hard now, and soon dusk would set in, making the world that much darker and colder. They had caught the deer just in time. Turning his attention back to the ground, he trotted over to the deer carcass, hesitating as he looked it over and searched for a good place to dig in. Its pelt was much tougher than that of smaller prey, and he couldn't just tear through it, so he opted for its flank where Losami had already torn of the leg. He pulled aside its thick pelt to access the meat, wrinkling his nose at its rich scent.
The meat tasted good enough, but it was much tougher than he was used to, and had a musky aftertaste that he imagined was something like dust or mud. Still, it was quite filling, and he didn't have to eat much before he was satisfied. Stepping back, he licked the blood from his muzzle and looked over the rest of the body.
"Hopefully the cold will keep it from rotting quickly, since there's way too much to eat today," he meowed, thinking out loud. That would be a good thing- the cats wouldn't have to bother with hunting for a day or too, then, which was practically miraculous this time of year.

After finishing her meal, Ember padded back to the den to check on the kits.

Once Crow finished eating, he retreated to the den along with Ember, settling beside the nest and watching the kits as they snored quietly, occasionally twitching or squirming in their sleep. He felt a pang of grief seize his heart for a moment as he thought of Starling and the fact that she would never get to see her kits. The little gray she-cat looked so much like her, it was almost as though Starling had just shrunk down to become her. And the brown tabbies... they looked so much like their father. Crow gritted his teeth, pushing that thought away. And then the white one and the black one- like Starling and Crow's parents.
"They'll need names," Crow murmured as he looked them over, narrowing his eyes in thought. What would Starling have called them? Well, the black one was obvious. But what about the rest? He looked each kit over carefully, turning their appearances over in his mind. What did they remind him of? And what would make a good name for them? He knew he needed to pick something that could suit them just as well when they grew up as they did now- nothing too cute or absurd. And something that they could grow into, personality-wise. He didn't want to pick a name that would seem to define them too much. As he turned over ideas, feeling their sound in his mind, and discarding those he thought were too defining. Finally, he came to a decision and sat up.
"Alright, I've decided," he meowed. "First, there's Snow," he gently touched the fluffy white tom with his nose, "and Raven," he added, moving to the tiny black kit. "After mine and Starling's parents. Then, Squirrel, because she looks like one with her fluffy little tail," he continued, nudging the gray she-kit, who let out an annoyed squeak and flailed her paws in her sleep. "And then Sparrow-" the brown tabby she-kit, "-because her stripes remind me of one, and she's not much bigger. And finally, Buck," he finished, moving on to the second brown tabby, a tom. "Because I think he'll grow up to be big and strong like one. And also as a reminder of the deer that fed us today."
(pics & full descriptions of all the kits to ensue. I think I'm gonna claim Snow and Raven because I already have personalities in mind for them. I do have vague personalities thought of for the others, but they're not quite as developed so I'm leaving them to you guys )

(Would I be able to claim Sparrow?? I hopefully will be on more today!! I was having family day yesterday so I couldn't be on much) Solace purred quietly at the names, they fit the kits well. He watched them squirm, eyes softening momentarily, remembering when Khostech and Viola where born- their other littermates had been given away to other No-furs, but his owners had kept those two, and he ended up caring for them, their parents disappearing not long after the kitting.
Khostech leaned forward, eyes wide at how small they where, his fluffy grey fur puffed out slightly in amazement. "Wow, look, Solace! They are so tiny!" He whispered, before murmuring descriptions of the kits to Viola. The russet she cat nodded slightly, frowning at the names, wondering why the names where so nature based.

For each kit there's their full physical description as well as two pictures: one as a kit (so more or less what they look like now/will in a few days) and one as an adult to give an even better idea of their physique. Yes, I put way too much effort into this lol. Also, as a bonus, there's Crow at the bottom.
Snow
Large, lithe tom with long, wispy white fur and dark green eyes. His tail, claws, and whiskers are unusually long, and his round eyes are rimmed with black, making his eyes stand out. Some of his hairs are tipped with pale gray, making him look dirty even though he is not. [claimed by di-stri]
Squirrel Slender, thick-furred gray she-cat with a darker tail and ears and pale green eyes. Her whiskers and tail are quite long, and her tail is very fluffy compared to the rest of her pelt.
Raven Tiny black tom with very long whiskers and pale blue-gray eyes. He has delicate features, as well as a white tail-tip and a tiny white patch on his chest. His claws are also unusually long, so much so that he has trouble keeping them fully sheathed all the time. [claimed by di-stri]
Sparrow Big, long-furred copper tabby she-cat with a paler muzzle, chest, and belly, and blue-green eyes. Her fur is quite wispy and is easily tangled. She has very small tufts on her ears, and unusually long fangs. [claimed by sweetclover1]
Buck Handsome, well-muscled dark brown tabby tom with very long whiskers, slightly tufted ears, yellow-green eyes, and a paler muzzle, chest, and belly. The stripes along his back cover most of his pelt, making him appear almost black from behind, and his ears have small tufts. [claimed by Sριяιт тнαт Ƈαηησт Ɓє Ƭαмєɗ]
Crow
Large, long-legged white tom with long white fur. His eyes are two different colors: the left is pale blue, while the right is pale green. He has thicker fur around his neck like a mane, and his features are rather delicate, and quite lanky. His claws, fangs, whiskers, and tail are all unusually long. He has a few notches in his ears and quite a few scars on his shoulders, flanks, and legs, but they're mostly covered by his thick fur.
* Sparrow and Crow- as well as Buck, Snow, and Squirrel, to a lesser extent- are all meant to resemble the Norwegian forest cat, strongly in the cases of the latter two.

(Sorry for my inactivity yesterday. I think I would like to claim Buck.)
Midnight and Natalie took their share of the deer. Gulping the meat down ravenously. We should have stopped to hunt on our journey. This is kind of embarrassing for us to be so hungry. But he didn't see Losami gulping down every morsel in sight. The lynx cat instead lay crouched outside the hollow. Listening intently to the conversation going on inside. And was that a warm glint in her green eyes? He'd never known her to be so fond of kits, or what she called, cubs. But apparently, she was. And why couldn't she just go in if she wanted to listen so badly? Could she not fit in or something? Its a mystery. But then again, Losami herself is a mystery.
"What're you staring at her for? Its kinda creepy and rude, when your having a conversation with someone else." Natalie's voice sounded from beside him and Midnight looked over at the kittypet.
"I was just wondering..." "About..." "The kits Natalie if you must know!"
Natalie furrowed a brow, and a sly smile crawled along her white face. "So you were staring at Losami and thinking about kits? Hmm, you must like her then if you think things like that about her."
"What? No Natalie, I don't like Losami. Not like that. I was thinking about Crow's kits, Natalie. Just- forget this conversation." Midnight then stood and trotted towards the hollow. Getting a small glimpse on the conversation going on inside. Oh, so they were naming the kits now, eh? Uninterested, Midnight skidded to a stop and veered away to the thorn bush he had taken shelter in earlier, beckoning for the others to join him. But only Natalie did. Losami still taking her place just outside the hollow.
---------
Losami wasn't bothered by the snow. Not yet anyways. Her thick pelt was used to cold like this, and again, she had had much colder. This forest was nothing like her former home. But that wasn't important now, the cubs were being named! They were odd names for cats in Losami's mind. Lynx had names that had meanings to it. Not meanings. Like Losami for an instance, her name meant 'pretty flower' in the language that she usually spoke. But now she was with these forest cats and she had to speak in their tongue. It was hard at first, but she was getting used to it.
"Those are beautiful names Crow." She exclaimed, a deep purr rumbling in her throat.

A dark brown tom trudged through the forest, his white paws blending in with the snow. Behind him, a pale calico was nearly invisible on the same background. The tom was carrying a scrawny mouse in his jaws, a little of its blood smeared on his lips. Their heads were bowed against the wind and snow. The tom, called Snowdrop after his fur pattern, turned his head to call back to the other. "Hanging in there, Ginger? It's not much farther." "Because it's been so long since you last asked me." Despite her words, Ginger fluffed out her pelt against the cold. "It has!" Snowdrop argued. Ginger made a disagreeable grunting noise, but said nothing. The two continued on in silence, until Snowdrop suddenly stopped, looked around for a moment, and dived under a log. Ginger sighed, and followed him.

(lol gonna go ahead and introduce another cat now. And I'll mark that Spirit claims Buck)
The coppery-brown she-cat had been sleeping peacefully until she felt something trod on her tail. She let out a surprised screech and leaped to her paws, unsheathing her claws as she stared at her disturber: a dark brown tom with a mouse in his jaws, who looked just as surprised as the she-cat. She stared at him for a moment, pelt bristling but not sure how to react. Then she exclaimed: "What in the stars are you doing in my den?"
----------
Crow couldn't help but let out a purr as the other cats exclaimed over the kits, instinctively puffing out his chest in pride. Now, with the den warmed by body heat and all the cats- including the kits- well-fed, it seemed like everything would be okay. Well... mostly. Things would never be the same without Starling, Crow knew he would never stop mourning her. They had grown up together and supported each other for their entire lives, hunting and fighting alongside each other when the world was against them. When they came to the forest and settled here, it had seemed things would finally be alright. And even when Starling's mate left, she was still determined to make the best life she could for herself and her family. But now, she was gone. But Crow knew that she wouldn't want him to sit around and mourn her- she would want her death to renew his determination to survive, and to care for her kits in her place. And that's exactly what the white tom intended to do.

Snowdrop dropped his catch with surprise as he found himself staring into the eyes of another cat. However, he recovered himself in time to answer the she-cat's accusing mew. "Erm... Sorry?" He offered.

The she-cat stared at him for a moment longer before relaxing slightly, realizing that he meant no harm. Behind him, she could see snow falling fast through the entrance to the den, and realized that he and the she-cat he was with were probably just looking for shelter from the storm, and that the snow had probably hidden her scent. She sheathed her claws and forced her fur to flatten before adopting a more cordial demeanor.
"Sorry for snapping, you surprised me," she meowed, settling back, though she remained somewhat guarded in case these cats weren't altogether friendly. "I take it you were looking for shelter?"

Snow. Cold. Starvation. Where was she? How did she get to this point in time? She was cold, lost, hungry-no..starving! It didn't help that it was snowing like crazy either, this forest was turning into a death sentence if she didn't find shelter soon, or even some food! Her weak frame was showing through her grey fur, which was matted too. But all Swift could right was run. She needed to find a home, anything! Swift smelled the cold air. Blood!? Blood! Finally, she could get a meal, it smelled so much like prey, who knows- it could be a pump rabbit, it didn't matter. She had to get it! Running faster, she used the last of her own energy to bolt towards the direction of the blood scent.

Crow blinked in surprise at the question, his expression turning sour. "A good-for-nothing tom named Badger. Oh, he was oh so perfect, until Starling told him she was expecting and he vanished and left her heartbroken. If I ever see him again I'll claw his fur off and leave him for the buzzards."

"And yeah, in greenleaf I usually travel around but I often settle here for the leafbare. It's a good spot." She paused for a moment, then added, "I'm Coyote, by the way. What are your names?"
Coyote Slender, long-legged copper-brown she-cat with black-rimmed, light green eyes, a distinct marbled tabby pattern, and an unusually short, fluffy tail.

"I'm Snowdrop, and this," he gestured to the she-cat, "is my sister, Ginger. Nice to meet you," he added. He blinked brightly, now completely at ease, and hoping to make a new friend in Coyote. Ginger nodded for greeting, her yellow-green eyes emotionless. She was generally uninterested in social encounters, and particularly uninterested in this cat. The tabby seemed a bit too friendly for her liking.
