Brinn Astire
Taking her drink and with a smile at the two boys who looked so enthralled in each others company she left them to it. Excusing herself politely she slipped away doubting they would even notice. She supposed she should at least try and unpack a few of her possessions and then maybe when everyone had settled in a little she would get to meet a few more of her housemates. She returned to the room she had claimed and sat on the edge of the bed. She lifted her suitcase up beside her and unzipped it. She sighed as she looked at her meager collection of belongings, before turning her gaze to the room around her. Two beds, two desks. It was all becoming very real very quickly. She just hoped she didn't have to share with some lunatic.

Bloodrose"A Yorker," Teddy echoed simply "Lucky you, born in the Big Apple. I was born in Washington. My family meets up there, in New York, for the holidays and such though, actually. Awesome place." He pulled out a water bottle that was peeking from the other pocket of his jacket, lightening the weight. Opening the bottle, he took a drink as Cain spoke again. "So long as I don't find out I'm living with a bunch of jugheads," Teddy said "Like my previous university, I think I'll take to everybody here eventually. Some become friends, others don't." His nose wrinkled thought, the memories of his last bunch of college-mates. However, his expression eased up to mild curiosity when Cain brought out a box of sushi. It wasn't in his diet, but he did have a liking for it. Going back to watching the others milling around, Teddy said "You're a little on the shy side, I've noticed. I can make a bet it's a little difficult for you to be... social? Or seek it out." He didn't say anything in a negative or rude way though, and he'd apologize if it didn't sit too well with Cain anyway. Teddy merely commented on how he noticed Cain acted around others, along with avoiding them if he could. Taking another drink from his water bottle, he added with another wrinkle of his nose "I'm in the same boat, more or less, but for slightly different reasons." Theodore had a habit of scaring people off with his rough personality sometimes. Cain blushed at what Teddy seemed to notice about him, and quietly nodded. 'S-social anxiety.' He stammered, looking away. 'It sounds really stupid, considering the profession I want to do is dealing with people, and my figure skating is performance.' He sighed quietly and dipped another piece of sushi, popping it into his mouth. Man, his ma made some mean sushi. 'Would you like a piece?' He politely asked the other male, blinking up at him, before watching as Brinn appeared to leave them, nodding at her as she left, then glancing back up at Teddy.

Devin situated his belongings on the bed nearest to the window. He supposed that his room-mate wouldn't mind him taking this spot, and even if he did, they should've been there sooner. When he slipped out of the room, he paused in the hallway. His gaze drifted along the area, and his lips twitched downwards. The spacy apartment was already filling up quickly, and he could see multiple people lurking across the hall. Flicking a tendril of hair out of his eye, he strode towards the kitchen. Peeking his head in, he noticed two men absorbed in a conversation with each other. He hesitated, before turning away. Noticing a door that was opened, he approached it. "Hello." He greeted Brinn, leaning against the entryway with a friendly grin. "We didn't greet each other properly." His grin widened when he continued. "It's nice to meet you Brinn, I am Devin."

Bloodrose"I don't consider it stupid," Teddy said with a frown "My older brother has it, actually, so it isn't foreign to me. And he's in a dance group, around tons of people. Anyway, it must not get to you too much if you still see fit in insisting on such pursuits?" Teddy had been taught not to bring people down when they were already bagging on themselves. He'd been lost in some thought, when Cain offered him a piece of sushi. Tilting his head slightly, he answered "Sure."

Cain blinked as Teddy gave him some very down-to-earth encouragement, and smiled slightly, looking away. 'Actually... it's really bad. The last time I performed on stage I had two panic attacks and had to cancel the gig.' He ran a hand through his hair. 'And I can't do signings- any interaction at all with fans cripples me.' He offered Teddy a piece and didn't dip it in case the male didn't want to, placing it between his fingers to eat.

Bloodrose"It sounds dumb to say you're just in a rough patch of life, but hey," Teddy decided "There's always a way. A way to what, I'm not sure. I'm going to be cliche and say that's for you to decide." A way for Cain to make things better perhaps. Even severe social anxiety was able to be overcome, but it wasn't Teddy's place to really pay guidance counselor for someone he barely knew. When Cain offered him a piece of sushi, he gave a small thanks to the other man before popping it in his mouth, smiling slightly at the taste.

Cain then settled after Teddy spoke, finding himself actually comfortable sitting with the other male. He sat in amiable silence for a while as he finished his meal, then washed up the plastic pot and found it a home. He sat back down next to Teddy, smiling at him. 'Have you managed to snag yourself a job in the area yet?'

While I do enjoy movies, it's something about live theater I just adore. Everything has to be just right, and when you mess up you have to think on your feet, you have to wonder what your character would do because you can't start over." Shoving her hand in her pockets, she smiled fondly and said softer, "It takes a little extra to do it live, which makes acting just so amazing." Shaking her head, she cleared her throat and said, "Sorry, I don't think I caught what you were studying?"

Bloodrose He watched in silence as Cain moved to put the plastic container away. And no, he wasn't going to deny that he had been staring. When Teddy was asked a question, he nodded. "Even though I don't need to," Teddy recalled, being the spawn of rich hotel and theater franchise owners "I did. Working at one of my parents' movie theaters, if you're familiar with the Moondance Cinema." It was a weird name, but his father picked it. Not him. The coal-curled man didn't actually need to earn squat, having a full ride and such, but everyone needed to work eventually. He didn't want to be one of those spoiled souls who depended on their parents entirely. It was lame, especially when one knew they were smart enough to do otherwise.

'Yeah, I don't really need to either,' Cain agreed, 'but I enjoy working. 'I feel like I'm making myself useful; contributing, I suppose. And I prefer to be on my feet... I'm always on the go and my head is always racing, so it helps when I'm in a fast paced environment. I got a job at the coffee shop down the road- Chronos Cafe- for days I'm not at college, and I got one at the pub a block over- The Ravens ring- for nights.' He seemed content to speak about work and his daily activities, and it was slowly becoming clear that his social anxiety might actually be caused by a lack of an actual social life. He'd been on his feet almost his entire life, and he preferred it that way. 'I might have to stop by sometime.' He then grinned, looking up at him. 'So what job did you get? Ticket master? Cleanup? Working the food?'

- - Cordelia Cordelia felt herself smile as Eve spoke with such passion about theatre. It was quite warming to watch and listen to someone speak about a subject they felt so strongly about and she felt her muscles relax as she decided she liked this girl. “It sounds amazing,” she told Eve truthfully, completely convinced by her speech. Besides, she had always admired performers who could get up onstage in front of hundreds of thousands and not bat an eye, while she had trouble asking a question in class without feeling faint.
“Oh, well, um… I’m a nursing major. Not as exciting as performing arts but… I enjoy it.”

"Are you kidding me? Just think of all the people you'll get to help, all the people you'll save. Oh goodness, just think of all the stories you'll hear on a daily basis..." Her eyes widening, she gave a mischievous smile and said, "Think of all the stories you'll be able to tell!"

- - Cordelia Saving people, helping people, was Cordelia’s ultimate goal, and to hear someone else say it made her feel a bit prouder of her studies. She chuckled at Eve’s mischievous smile and nodded her head in agreement. “Definitely…” she murmured, peering over at the clock. It had been nearly half an hour since she arrived and she had only managed to bring up one textbook-filled box. She clenched her hands and turned to apologize to Eve, “Sorry, but I really should bring all my luggage up. It was nice meeting you.” She took a few steps back and said, “I guess I’ll see you around” before she turned and quickly headed out the door.

[No big deal! Mine are pretty short right now, too ^^]
At the female's greeting, Devin's grin widened slightly. "I major in Biology. A broad subject, but it allows me to decide more easily on what I should narrow down, and then major in." He paused to observe her expression, curious eyes roaming her face. "What about you? What do you major in?" As he waited for her response, his gaze flicked to the rest of the room. It was interesting to note that nearly everyone tried to be the first one to inhabit a room, such as himself. "I think so too. Although I haven't really interacted with anyone besides you." He shifted, resting more of his weight against the entryway to the room. "What year are you in?" He inquired, turning his green gaze back to hers.
