"We need to get help, Sagekit," Maplekit mewled. At this point she didn't care what kind of trouble they got into. She just wanted Sagekit to be alright.  ╔═════════════════════╗ " ＭＡＰＬＥＫＩＴ" ╚═════════════════════╝ Her sister didn't bother to argue anymore, knowing that Maplekit wouldn't give in. "H-How do we get help? Everyone is a-asleep..." She asked with a shaky mewl, tail stuffed between her legs.
The words barely registered in Screechkit's fuzzy mind. The little kit snuggled up to her mother's soft fur, her breathing slowing into a steady, peaceful rhythm. Mom was right. Blackpaw would be fine... but a little nap wouldn't hurt right now.  ╔═════════════════════╗ " ＳＣＲＥＥＣＨＫＩＴ" ╚═════════════════════╝ As time passed on around her, the gentle chatter of cats outside of the den soon interrupted the young kits rest. Her mother had fallen asleep beside her. |

"I-I'll get Momma!" Maplekit mewed, dashing over to where her adopted mother was asleep in their nest, and prodded her with a paw. "Momma! Momma, wake up!" she mewled.

Careful not to wake her mother, Screechkit wriggled out of the nest and padded over to the nursery entrance. She peeked outside, little ears pointed forward to listen.

"I-I'll get Momma!" Maplekit mewed, dashing over to where her adopted mother was asleep in their nest, and prodded her with a paw. "Momma! Momma, wake up!" she mewled. ╔═════════════════════╗ " ＭＡＰＬＥＫＩＴ" ╚═════════════════════╝ Thistlenight's eyes slowly flickered open as her kit wailed her name. "Maplekit... It's still dark out, what's got your tail in a knot?" She yawned sleepily as she asked about what was concerning Maplekit. Careful not to wake her mother, Screechkit wriggled out of the nest and padded over to the nursery entrance. She peeked outside, little ears pointed forward to listen. ╔═════════════════════╗ " ＳＣＲＥＥＣＨＫＩＴ" ╚═════════════════════╝ A few cats were gathered around the medicine cat's den, their ears bent back as they whispered to one another. |

Screechkit glanced back at her mother, then quietly padded out of the nursery to listen. She still looked over her shoulder every now and then. She felt like she shouldn't be listening, and hoped nobody would catch her.

"Sagekit's hurt!" Maplekit wailed. She looked back to where her sister was on the ground, the blood still flowing. She had to fight down the urge to panic. It wasn't the time for that. Sagekit needed her to be calm.

Screechkit glanced back at her mother, then quietly padded out of the nursery to listen. She still looked over her shoulder every now and then. She felt like she shouldn't be listening, and hoped nobody would catch her. ╔═════════════════════╗ " ＳＣＲＥＥＣＨＫＩＴ" ╚═════════════════════╝  A dark she-cat was laying just inside of the medicine cats den, fur soaked and plastered against the cold ground. Her jaws were slightly parted, weak pants coming out now and then. "Sagekit's hurt!" Maplekit wailed. She looked back to where her sister was on the ground, the blood still flowing. She had to fight down the urge to panic. It wasn't the time for that. Sagekit needed her to be calm. ╔═════════════════════╗ " ＭＡＰＬＥＫＩＴ" ╚═════════════════════╝ The queen's eyes widened as she saw the injured kit, letting out a wail as she ran over. "Sagekit! Oh great Starclan, what happened?!" |

"She... kind of got attacked by a squirrel," Maplekit replied shakily. It sort of sounded like a silly thing to say. "We thought we could catch it..."

"S-Stay here, I'm going to take her to the medicine cat's den... I'll be back soon." She tried to calm herself down in front of Maplekit. |

From where Screechkit was, she could barely see the black she-cat. Was that Blackpaw? They sounded very sick. Did the lake do that to her? Screechkit didn't know how, since water was just the stuff that fell from the sky and into puddles. But Blackpaw would be alright. Her mother said so, so it would be true.

"Pl-please don't worry about it... I should've been more careful." Her soft green eyes met Screechkit's, warmth shining in each.

Screechkit looked up at the she-cat, smiling a little. "It's fine, like I said? What's your name? Mine's Screechkit!" she mewed, her usual enthusiasm returning. Meeting new cats got her mind off more troublesome things. ╔═════════════════════╗ " ＳＣＲＥＥＣＨＫＩＴ" ╚═════════════════════╝ "My name is Feathersong, it's a pleasure to meet such a brave kit such as yourself Screechkit." She purred softly to the energetic kit. "Okay..." Maplekit replied, watching her adopted mother and sister leave the den. Her heart fluttered and her stomach churned while she waited, hoping against hope that Sagekit would be okay. ╔═════════════════════╗ " ＭＡＰＬＥＫＩＴ" ╚═════════════════════╝ Cherrykit lifted her head up from the nest, letting out a soft mewl of discomfort as her mother's warmth left. "Momma?" |

Maplekit looked behind her and at Cherrykit. She felt shame swell through her body. It was her fault Sagekit wasn't with her sister right then. If only she'd stopped her from trying to catch the squirrel instead of helping her... After all, a mad Sagekit is better then a hurt Sagekit.

"Nice to meet you, too!" Screechkit mewed. Blackpaw's panting soon drew her back to the gravity of everything, though. She stood up straighter, trying to get a better look. "...Are they sick?"

"Um.." Maplekit began, unure how to explain. "Momma's taking Sagekit to visit the medicine cat for a little bit. She told me to wait for her." She hoped Cherrykit would understand and not become frightened for her sister.
