I get that she has knowledge on medicine and I think thought about becoming one a few times, but just knowing about herbs and thinking about the position doesn't necessarily mean she's actually going to be a medicine cat.
Reed Tail, Brightheart, Sandstorm, Briarlight, and even Squirrelflight thanks to her connection with Leafpool all had some knowledge on herbs, but never became medicine cats. Cinderheart was a medicine cat for a brief time after finding out about Cinderpelt, but became a warrior again. Hollyleaf also had some knowledge of herbs, but wasn't well-suited for being a medicine cat.
I'm not saying that Twigpaw won't be a medicine cat, but I am saying that there's always the possibility of her just being a helper instead. Besides, it does seem to be a little too soon to be giving Alderheart an apprentice and when he just received his medicine cat name, too and I doubt either Leafpool or Jayfeather are going to die or retire anytime soon. It's already bad enough that ThunderClan has three medicine cats—the Clan doesn't really need a fourth one.

The difference between Twigpaw and Brightheart/Sandstorm/Briarlight though, is that the latter never said anything about wanting to be medicine cats. Now, yes of course, that doesn't mean that just because you say you want to be a medicine cat doesn't mean you will become one and nor will it automatically make you good at healing (we saw that quite clearly with Hollyleaf), but apart from Reed Tail - who actually was an (unofficial) medicine cat more or less - none of those cats ever voiced wanting to be a medicine cat.
I do have a feeling that Twigpaw might become a medicine cat - except not ThunderClan's but SkyClan's. Not only because ThunderClan already has enough medicine cats and helpers but if Hawkwing happens to be Twig's father and Twig feels a stronger connection to her father's Clan then it would make sense for her to go to SkyClan instead. And with no medicine cat there and Twigpaw wanting to be one it'd make sense for her to be trained by Jayfeather, Leafpool and/or Alderheart to become SkyClan's medicine cat. That's my theory anyway

I agree with all of the above, but I'm kind of hoping it doesn't happen... The gentle, kind cats becoming medicine cats, or otherwise learning about medicine is kind of cliché...

She actually thought about it like 2 or 3 times, and there's also Puddleshine's admiration for her help while she was in ShadowClan. I would be ecstatic if she became SkyClan's medicine cat tbh.

It isn't really considered to be a cliché when you realize that cats that are kind and gentle are much more likely to become med cat or permanent queen rather than a strong, battle-hungry cat.

A kind and gentle person can still be strong as a warrior (in fact, it's often been proven that the kind and gentle people are the ones to worry about getting upset) and take up that position permanently. And being a warrior doesn't necessarily mean they would have to be battle hungry.
I'm just hoping there's more role reversals in recent Warriors books, so things don't become too predictable...

But....ThunderClan has Yellowfang, and then Cinderpelt, who even though she was kind, could have some bite to her. Same with Leafpool, I don't like her, but she's showing some more bite herself especially against Rowanstar and Onestar. Also Jayfeather is literally all bite, lol.
