"The language barrier is a problem, but it will be overcome within passing months," Isak nodded crossed his arms, drumming his fingers against his arm. He looked over Alejandro as he listened to the distant fighting; though it was becoming fainter with time passing. It was possible that they were finding neutral ground - or perhaps Maria had killed both crews. Either way, he was grateful, for his head had begun to hurt. He picked his hat up and set it atop his head again, running his tongue over his bottom teeth as he tried to find something to talk with the other Captain about. "It is not usual for there to be two Captains," he said, deciding that he might as well breach the topic. Alejandro, who had been looking around him at the quarters during the moment of silence between them, snapped his gaze back to the other man upon hearing his comment. "I agree," Alejandro replied, nodding "but I do not think we would come to a rational decision about it between the two of us. Perhaps we should let the crews decide? A vote? Then it would be fair on the crews, too, if they could pick the Captain." To be honest, he'd made that plan a long time ago, and he'd bad the idea of a vote in his head ready for just this situation. It would be difficult to get a majority vote out of the crews, but he suspected they would be able to do it. After all, there simply couldn't be two Captains and a decision would have to be made sooner or later,

"Of course," Isak seemed, momentarily, thoughtful. "A vote - but only if they wish to vote. It would be unfair to force upon them a decision."
He cared for his crew. They were his family, and they talked things through; but Isak couldn't get involved with a vote like this, and he knew that a fair few of his crew would be uncomfortable with it. It was a little worrying. Only a few people had opposed to him being Captain at the start, and even then? They'd straightened out, eventually. Now, they were a well-oiled machine.
With a shake of his head, Isak put his hat on and exited the cabin, dipping his head as Maria hurried over, eyes flicking to the Captain's Cabin before she gave a two-fingered salute. It wasn't an official gesture by any means, but a sly dip to her navy history.
"Most fights are settled," she said, in Norwegian. "Nothing too major, a few injured. I think Mikhail is going to have to take to bedrest for a short while, but he pulled the sword first."
"Hmm," Isak nodded up at her, clasping his hands behind his back. He spoke in the same tongue. "We may have to vote to choose who's Captain. Do you think the crew will agree to this?"
"No," Maria said honestly, "not ours. We won't follow anyone but you, at this point in time."
A small sigh passed his lips, and he looked to Alejandro with raised eyebrows.
"Maria doesn't think that my crew will want to leave this to a vote."

Alejandro sighed, biting his lip "I feel that we might have the same problem with my crew, actually. Well, I don't see any way to settle this fairly. I suggest, for the moment at least, that we just work together and be co-captains for a while. At least until the crews have settled down and can talk to eachother and until we know eachothers' crews well enough. Then they might just be willing to take a vote, though I still highly doubt it, to be honest"
They were in a difficult conundrum, though of course it was easily solved if the men could just put their pride aside for a while and just work together. After all, that was the only thing stopping them from deciding to work together, and it really was going to end up getting in the way of their goals if they didn't start to make changes immediately.
Alejandro looked to the other captain, hoping to see what he thought of the idea. He would probably hate it, but the way Alejandro saw it they didn't exactly have much choice in the matter if they wanted the crews to be happy. After all, if they chose to have just one captain, the crew of the one who didn't become captain would likely be furious.

[Hmm, okay. We could perhaps do a fantasy plot but in like a futuristic setting? I don't know, I'm not great with plots. Most of my plots are ones that I've sort of come up with over a very long time.]
